Think about running your line off the top of the reel ie nearest the rod butt. This was the 'Leeds style' in my day of fishing. This approach stops the line from blowing off the top of the reel in the wind and is like using a line guard but without the hassle! This was the approach the Leeds match anglers used with their hand made ' Leeds ' centre pin reels. Your 'pin looked a nice reel though. I used to fish with Match Aerials and Speedia centre pins in the 70's and the 80's for Chub and barbel in Yorkshire and on the Hampshire Avon and Kennet. In those days barbel were not as well distributed as they are now and living in Manchester had to travel to find them.
Thank you for the advice. This was one of my first proper sessions of fishing with a centre pin and I’m still very much getting used to the little issues like line blowing off the reel and occasional tangles on casting. Getting better each session. Thank you again👍🏻
Ever fished the Goyt, Michael. There are a few barbel in there, the Tame, and the Mersey. I started on the Goyt in 2006, for barbel, and have used a 'pin exclusively since around 2010 (nowadays a Milltackle reel). Mostly fish the Upper Trent and Dove these days.
@@RichardParsons65 In my day the Goyt, Tame and Mersey were all polluted and fishless, as was the Bollin. I've often wondered about these rivers as they are now. I used to fish with Allcocks Match Aerials and Speedia centre pins and took my two doubles from Southern rivers both on the float.
Really enjoyed that film lads. Seriously fantastic style of videograhy. What a beautiful stretch of the Teme. Being a middle Severn angler, I really am tempted to give this place a go. First film of yours Ive watched, and Ive subscribed. 💪🏻🎣🔥😎
Thanks very much, we aren’t seasoned professional content creators, but we are passionate about fishing and video making, episodes 2 and 3 have been completed and due for release soon 😄, thanks for subscribing, we are improving with each episode 🤓 catch us along the way. P.S get yourself down to the Teme, caught a 10lb barbel there today 💪
@outandaboutangling that's fantastic to hear, a nice double for your efforts 👌🏻 The word professional gets banded about far too much, all that means is its how you make your money, and from 1 video, I can say, the passion shows! The camera skills and the style of film is better than many 'professionals' do 😎 I'll pick up a BAA card in January so I don't lose half of the year, and I'll get on it next year. Looking forward to the new films. I'll be starting my own soon too 💪🏻🎣🔥😎
@@kennypartridge1853 that’s great to hear, hopefully we will bump into you along the way, keep fishing and enjoying yourself 👍🏼 Thanks for the kind words
I live just a few minutes away from the river teme, used to fish there many years ago but sadly can't anymore as it's run by so many different angling associations it's like trying to join a golf club

Nothing better than a big barbel on the 'pin. Such great control.
Fab film of the Teme, looking in great condition.
Thanks Richard, my first year fishing the pin, loving it so far 😊

@outandaboutangling yeh, maybe we will. I'll be out and about soon buddy. 👍🏻
Very "Neistat" probably one of the best produced fishing vlog currently on here
Thanks a-lot, we are still finding our feet and sure we will fall into a style, we just love making content for people to enjoy
Very nice.
Thanks 🙏
Was fishing the same spot last week and had a beautiful rainbow trout approx 1 half pound
No way! It’s a cracking spot, we will be back soon for a proper session

BAA is pretty reasonable and have a lot of stretches of the Teme available, don’t let it put you off,
Recently we had a 10lb barbel at the Teme, get involved
time out
