Stop throwing away T-shirts, jeans, shirts that are too small. I'll show you how to remake them

- 1) I never throw away my husband’s old T-shirts. I show how I transformed them and saved the family budget.
Surely, everyone has several white T-shirts in their closet. Colored T-shirts usually last for one or two seasons, as they fade and change color.
But white ones are always in good condition, and they are always a trend for the summer season. In hot weather, white is a little cooler.
So last year, in the fall, we bought several white T-shirts for my husband on sale. We were very glad that we saved money, because the store gave them away at half price.
But the reality turned out to be harsh, and after a long winter, the husband did not fit into these T-shirts. Apparently, the T-shirts, never worn or washed, shrunk...
But there is a solution to this problem: If the T-shirt becomes tight, you need to widen it. The best way is to make inserts.
So I decided to make one out of two small T-shirts!
But first you need to try the thing on a model and figure out how much to enlarge.
How I did it:
- I carefully folded the T-shirt, drew lines and cut both the front and the back at once. Now you can expand it to any width. In my case, I need to increase by one size. As a result, the shoulder length will become longer.
- If desired, the bottom of the T-shirt can be ripped open so that it can be hemmed beautifully later.
- Cut inserts from another T-shirt in the same way. I have them 5 cm wide. If you want to make a wider style, make this insert width larger.
- Baste strips and stitch or process on an overlocker. Even if the insert is simply placed on top of the white fabric overlapping and hand stitched, it will be beautiful.
If the length is short, sew a stripe at the bottom, as on the insert.
Now they generally sell untreated knitwear - stitching on the sides and shoulders. And the rest is twisted and looks great.
Please note that I used an old colored t-shirt for the inserts. It turned out very well. No one will guess that this is an alteration and not a factory product.
So feel free to cut and wear a new model made by yourself.
2) What to do if your favorite jeans become too small in the waist: definitely don’t throw them away. I'll show you how they can be expanded.
What to do:
Important! When working with jeans on a sewing machine, you need to change the needle to a special needle for denim, which is characterized by increased strength and sharp sharpening.
- First we rip off the belt, but not all of it. Only in the place where there will be expansion, plus 10-15 cm from the cut in both directions, do not touch the edges where the button and loop are located. The straps come off in the same way.
- We outline the cutting line. It is done on the back of the trousers between the side seam and the pocket.
The line is not straight, but slightly curved. Its length is about 10 cm.
- Cut and expand the borders by about 3-4 cm from the top.
- For the wedge you will need pieces of jeans that match the color.
- We put this auxiliary fabric under the jeans.
- We outline the resulting triangle with chalk. We overlock the edges of the flap with an allowance of 1.5 cm around.
- We pin the flap with pins and immediately attach it at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edges.
- We sew a rare zigzag along a straight line. We cut off the excess fabric with scissors.
- To make the seam tight, I went through it two more times with a frequent zigzag.
- Sew a double finishing stitch so that the zigzag is in the middle.
- We deliver the missing piece on the belt.
The belt can be made entirely from new fabric.
But if your jeans have become tight on the hips and legs, then you need to insert stripes.

3) How to quietly increase the width of a tight shirt by 12 centimeters, so that no one will guess that the item has been altered.
However, everything can be remade to your size. To increase the size, use side panels made of a different material. Where to place them?
On the side seams
On the back
Along the chest line.
If the fabric is chosen well, no one will guess that this thing was too small.
A good solution is to use knitwear or elastic lace for inserts; due to stretching, the dress or shirt will fit perfectly and will not hamper movement.
Using a shirt as an example, I’ll show you how I do this. Here we will not increase the item from size 42 to 54. You just need to add a few centimeters.
- I tried on a shirt, it was difficult to button it in the front, the placket was diverging, I couldn’t raise my arms, the sleeves were too narrow. Just recently the shirt was on time. I figured that I needed to expand it by 10-12 cm.
- I ripped the side seams on the shelf. The sleeve was also ripped open, not reaching the cuffs by 5 cm.
- I prepared knitwear, it is the same thickness as the fabric on the shirt.
- I cut out strips 7 cm wide, narrowed those that will be sewn to the sleeves at one end. If the fabric allows the stripes, you can make them whole.
- I combined the knitted strip with the shirt, and first

Заправляется современный оверлог легко, есть инструкция. Это не обычная швейная машина, а другое устройство, очень нужное ! Купите обязательно и вы увидите , насколько вам стало легче шить !
Если шьете трикотаж незаменимая вещь оверлок. Не надо его бояться есть инструкция , много видеороликов как его заправлять и как с ним работать в помощь ютюб. Все легко и просто . Купите и разберетесь. Я долго мечтала об оверлоке потом муж подарил , такая красота.
