I saw these a while back on Facebook, and checked on his website about buying the case only. IIRC, they will be available next year sometime. I was thinking the same, to get a suitable dial and handset, and kind of make a poor man's non-chrono Ripley, just as a fun homage. I just wish the case was one or two millimeters bigger, 36 might be a little ridiculous on me.
Sweet that you got these in, Pete. I randomly came across the Kickstarter campaign for the cases on NamokiMods, and I jumped on it for 2 cases. He’s actually going to offer both silver and black cases, so I’m getting 1 of each. I’m brainstorming ideas on what dials and hands to use on them, but I’m waiting to have them in hand before I choose. Really excited for these builds!
@@ChillinwitWatches Yeah. Also, the founder, Yu Ando, seems to be all-in on this watchmaking thing as he’s working on a few projects at the moment. One of them is a collaboration on a field watch. If this A1 is any indication, I’m super curious what his field watch would look like!
The case has that Ripley vibe. They get credit for originality but lose points because you could project a film on the side of it and one year warranty is a bit tight at this price point.
Every collection needs that one watch that is a little quirky and unique. I’m saving up for an Ochs und junior to meet that need, but this is definitely the more economical buy. Electricianz is another odd brand that is fun to look at!

Love this design! I have a mini collection of Seiko Giugiaro's and I'm quite in to the asymmetrical case shape.
