Looks great dude, also a dev using ue5 in unconventional ways. Always fun to break the rules so to speak of normal game dev. This looks awesome and looking forward to seeing where this is going.
Yo dude, loving how your game is coming along so far :) I was just wondering do you have any tutorial links on how you learned how to use the graph to create planets and the materials? I just recently got the Voxel Plugin 2.0 and finding it hard to find any teaching material xD no worries if not thought i would ask :)
Great video. I'm contemplating picking up the Voxel Plugin but it's sooo pricey. I wish I could test out the graphs before purchasing, just to see if I have the capability. Looking forward to future updates!
I know the 1.2 version of the plugin has a free version, but maybe the graphs aren't available there🤔 It's definitely worth it tho, if you want to make anything procedural
Can you show a more in-depth view on how you made the 3d noise for the planet? Im working on a small project and Im still trying to figure out voxel plugin 2
Would love to help you with that. The next devlog is coming tomorrow, where I share an invite link to the new discord server for the channel:) Would be easier to show detailed stuff in there i think
How big planet you can potentially generate in Unreal engine? Could you e.g. generate roughly earth size planet where it would take about a year to walk around it, assuming the character would walk about 5km per hour and takes no breaks?
Theoretically, unreal does support that big Planets, yeah! Issue is storing all the data for the modified areas. If this is done in an efficient way, it might be possible practically too:)
Its starting to look nice ... but I was mostly interested how are you planning to aproach that old and probably sadly unsolvable problem of making spherical planet from cubes so usage of blackbox plugin made me kinda disapointed :)
Makes sense, Im not following your work (atleast not yet) so I dont know what the final goal is here - this video just landed in my recomendations as google probably knew I was researching that topic few months ago so the title was intriguing :) (I do some game dev as hobby too + I like StarMade game and they are fighting with this problem too (ish) ... its interesting topic but sadly for much more clever people than I am so Im always eager to see others solutions - I would love to make it work one day somehow :) )
@@emilwalseth Possible to show how you get the foliage spawed? or a simple project on github? Their own example was quite complex. Yours seems simple . maybe you cut off part of your video? I tried what you did in the video. couldn't get the cones spawned. thx
@@lolaswift111 I think the only part I don't show is that the planet surface needs to be registered to the Project.Surface channel for the foliage to spawn there. Give that a go, if it doesn't work, send me an email and I'll send more details:) In the future I will have a discord where we can discuss more things like code in detail!
You're tooooooo fast and I don't know how everyone follow your guide at this speed?!?!?!??!?!? I even put the speed to 0.5x and you're still tooooo fast to follow.
Thanks for the video dude! This is the first planet video that actually includes playing on the planent instead of creating a fancy screenshot
Haha! Yeah that is definitely an important part 😂
nice one bro waiting for more ! :)
These videos go by very fast, a lot of info in a well spoken and fun video. Well done, looking forward to your next videos!
Thank you so much!
Great videos man. Really enjoying all your recent devlogs. Hope to see more progress soon!
Thank you so much!
I really like this so far the trees look great the islands are nice its all very good
Glad you like them! It's just prototype work so far, so hopefully it will look even better soon!
Always liked a good procedural generation, man, that's insane!!
🥳🥳
this is amazing! you are soo underrated!
Thank you so much!

Thanks alot!!
I’m wanting to learn to code and these videos make me want to start right now
You should!:D
Brings to mind the dyson sphere program
i love theese vids! good work, keep it up!😃
Thank you so much!
very inspiring thank you ;D

Thanks for the info's! i would love to try this plugin it might solve a problem that im having in my game 😁
The plugin is still under a lot of development, hopefully done some time soon though🔥 Really has potential!

Emil dette er første gang jeg har sett deg siden 1 og et halvt år siden og jeg ble så glad når jeg så det

@@emilwalseth That sounds amazing!
set position node affects the density filter and idk how to fix that
This is very interesting

I see, I sadly don't want my planet to be made of cubes, and this plugin probably saves me years of work, so totally worth it for a solo indie dev!

Sorry that I am 3 days late, been a busy week😅. Mvh Ingemar
Can you make use of nanite tech in this project
I can, and probably will, yeah:)
very cool
are you using the pro version?
Yes I am:) Voxel Plugin Pro 2.0
@@emilwalseth it's a great plugin. Last time I used a round several months ago, multiplayer wasn't working for me
@@lolaswift111 Ahh, they're still working on the 2.0 release, so a bit further now luckily!

This plugin still does not support multiplayer right?
World is generated on both clients, but changes to it won't happen automatically no, you have to sync them yourself.
wait.... is this emwa?
yes;)
Emwa joooo
@@emilwalseth You are one of the people who got me into game dev as you would mention it in your old vids, thank you for that:)
Awesome!! No worries:)

Tror nok ikke det dessverre:)

Yeah it's not really supposed to be a guide/tutorial. More just a development-diary
@@emilwalseth It be nice to have a tutorial instead. Also I think I need the pro plugin to achieve making a planet.
Unfortunately they've made it payable
