You have right, Jukkas drumming sounds more powerful to me than Kais, but Kai plays a little more....... exact, thats what i hear and think. Another really great drummer with a very specific style is the drummer from Epica. After Nightwish Epica is my second favorite band! I like Simone very much! Her virtual show OMEGA-ALIVE is a masterpiece! You really should look it one time, i think you would like it! "The Skeleton Key" and "Unchain Utopia" are my 2 favorite songs from this show. Who knows, maybe you did somedays an reaction about this or one of this songs. 😉 I would like it very much! I wouldn't tell you anything when i don't think you like it too! Have a nice week! Bye!
Was lucky enough to see them at Hammersmith just before this show. For me the best nightwish line up and the songs then were far simpler. Too much going on for me now
End of an Era was a great one, watched it several times, and even though the whole concert is great, all I can think about is the open letter the other 4 on stage know is coming for Tarja at the concert's end. Tuomas at several parts, you can see his heart breaking, and Marko just seems angry and over it.
Never was among my fav Nightwish songs. I like the hammering theme: the background chorus staccatto, short fast bow draws and very prominent hard hitting drumming. That's a very rhythmic, head nodding, hand clapping kind of a song. And I like the guitar sound in Emppu's solo. But vocally the song is nothing special: much of the singing is done in shouting fashion, Marco shows range and has nice distortion in "Welcome to Planet Hell," that's the best I can think of. I warmed more to the song with the official live with Anette (the studio practice), because it is a pretty cool video, the best quality live from her era, and her best Planet Hell I have heard: she has one difficult point, but doesn't fall in another earlier difficult point and is over all very good. It doesn't sound as big as this End of an Era performance though.
Love Tarja's version , i mean its such a great song BUT FLOORS version is better ....you need a Metal Singer to match Markos intensity and Floor does that , plus Floor pulls off the classical side during the chorus .....i mean you cant even hear Tarja during the chourus, Marko buries her vocals. Try " Nightwish Planet Hell With Floor Jansen @ Helsinki 10/11/2012 "
Here I do not agree with you. First: sound engineering. Secondly: Contrast is (IMO) more interesting than two voice types closer to each other. Of course, this is a matter of taste - as usually.

So keep listening Floors version, good for you. And who prefers this version listen to it. Amazing how in all the react with Tarja a floor fan appears saying that the Floor version is better. It's simple, listen to Floor's versions.Floor found the old NW songs and decided to sing it her way which I think is very good because she is an excellent singer. But every react with Tarja is the same thing. There are those who listen to NW since the beginning and like the initial formation and the old songs with Tarja like me and nothing changes that, but I keep listening to NW with Floor since it's a new era, but the old songs I hear with Tarja singing and no one can sing them like her
