    Love your point that as a facilitator you want to give voice to the people in the room. I've been facilitating for years and love hearing about this topic. Cheers!

    Design thinking is key. It really helped me to put myself into the shoes of the participant consuming my content.
    Thanks for this! great nuggets to chew on.

    Again, great video. Awesome to see someone I've seen from the comments section actually on the show!

    Well done. Love the points made. I did a talk a couple of months ago where I compared what I learned in fighting with design and facilitation. In short, it doesn't always look as fancy as it does in films and books.

    This is very interesting, I did not realize that you can do the user profiles first. This was so good, wish there were more videos on the facilitation process.

    Lol there's a typo problem sloving haha but otherwise loved this video. With every video you put out there's always something new I learn. It's like each video you do is a different insight. This time was facilitation which is what a designers job is not a client vs designer.

    Great video Chris. I do have a question about the overall CORE process. I've seen many of your videos and have performed a few "brand sprints" with clients. My question is, what if (a) your client you are collaborating with doesnt know or is actually wrong about their users and customers in defining them or their pains/needs, and (b) the client doesn't have much budget to do user research to actually understand their users enough to craft useful personas? I find that some clients simply dont know much about their clients, or they do not have enough budget for someone to do thorough research.

    I didn’t get the meaning of the acronym CORE. What does it stand for?

    This is a great video. love the theory of the profiles first but wouldn't they then be answering the brand attributes exercise trying to fit the answers to satisfying the profile needs instead of flowing naturally? Doesn't that become disingenuous then?

      Hi Jon, Design Thinking suggests that we create solutions for users and not for ourselves. I think 21st century businesses are already adapting this approach. Make stuff for others. That's why I believe it's important to profile customers that you feel connected to. What customers do you desire? What customers do you feel aligned with? Once you understand them, build your company, solutions, voice and brand around these people.
      Apple is for artists and creative types. It governs how they design and build products. It also informs how they speak to them in their marketing initiatives.

      The Skool Network Thanks for the insight. Any books or reading you'd suggest for design thinking. I'm so set in the brand should represent the owners personality, so I'd like to expand my thinking...

      just research the word "design thinking". there are many articles and videos on this subject. start there. but there are a bunch written by IDEO guys. I haven't read yet but own a copy.

    I love transparency. But I can offend people with it to because I don't hold back. Especially with my clients. It's transparency with tact that's the key you have to be honest but not come off as rude

    • @thefutur
      @thefutur  8 лет назад +1

      That's right. We can do an episode on being transparent. But it's really about communicating your thought process not you opinion. That's the trick.

    Here is a question it keeps coming to my mind since I started to know about Core. Do you think it is truly possible to apply it remotely, let's say via skype call or similar? My feeling is that the outcome would be much less powerful than if I did it in person. I think Core is a lot about connecting with whom you are trying to collaborate, and this connection is hard to find in a remote way. Thanks in advance for your responses!

    • @thefutur
      @thefutur  7 лет назад +1

      Matías Pitters it's possible. I've done it. But you should do it in person because you can read the room better.

    • @matiaspitters6058

      Thank you Chris for your quick response! Now I'm wondering if there's any video from The Futur where remote work is discussed? Would be great to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks again!
