I was working at the MCG in Melbourne about 20 years ago and Rob was rehearsing for a Matchbox 20 gig. I'd not heard much of their music at that time and had little idea as to who they were. Rob was rehearsing without backup music, I turned to my buddy and said... Unlike many, this guy can really sing. Have been a huge fan ever since. Best Wishes.

I live in the country where the neighbors cows graze on our land, when Im outside playing this music on a big bluetooth speaker, they gather around the porch, & only leave when the music stops, shows the amazing effect music holds for all walks of life. I used to have a cat that would come and sit right by the speaker in my house when I would play certain songs....always the same songs. It makes me wonder what it is about a song that an animal might like or dislike....they don't understand the lyrics, so can they feel the emotion conveyed in the song or the emotion of the person they are around who's listening to the song, or is the sound just pleasant to their ears? Also, Rob's music did and and still does have a profound effect on me...the music, the lyrics, his voice...he reaches into your soul. Unwell is probably my favorite but it's really hard to pick just one favorite. But if I had to that's the one.

Saw him twice during the Chip Tooth Tour. Once in Cleveland (northfield) at the beginning of his tour, and then at the new youngstown amphitheater at the end, and both were so different. I'm so glad Rob decided to do solo work really, it's absolute MAGIC. Was never really a fan of Matchbox Twenty (liked maybe 1 or 2 songs here and there) which is perfectly fine cause it just wasn't my style of music but I feel Rob as a soloist is one of the VERY rare acts that transcends all boundaries in music where anyone can just listen no matter what age, decade, or genre preference and really just enjoy the music

@@tammygilpin2519 I'm aware. All I said was i didn't appreciate the band's sound/genre. He took a different route stylistically with his solo work that he did with the band which makes sense. Let me put it this way, MB20 produced keeping in mind their rock audience, what'll sell, and what'll remain consistent with their essence/sound as an entity. But his solo stuff comes from his SOUL and is meant to be the purest expression of himself. His solo work has only his name on it so he just creates whatever his true heart really wants to put out there without mind to anything else. If his solo music was no different than the stuff he released thru his band then there wouldn't have been a reason to put mb20 on hold to pursue it in the first place.

Why is his music so relatable? I’ve been a fan of his since the mid 90s. He is AMAZING! He’s a great musician and human being. I’ve never heard one bad story about this man! He truly appreciates his fans. I hope to meet him one day to say thank you for all the items he saved my life and made me keep on moving.

Rob Thomas has one of the best vocals and his songwriting isn’t too shabby either.
I’ll admit that I’ve only ever listened to three Rob Thomas songs, but I’ve been pulled to his music over the last few days. I had some bad news, and for some reason I found solitude within his music, and kind of regret that I didn’t listen to him before. But here I am.
