Thank you so much bro, this tutorial saved me so much frustration. Was trying to combine PC and Nintendo Switch audio, but there was this really bad delay when using the "listen to this device" function from Windows. Now I'm playing on switch with a PS5 controller using my PC's audio, gotta love it :D
After videos and multiple reddit posts of tying to fix the issue, your solution not only worked, but produced high quality sounds from both the PS4 and Discord. You sir, just earned a like and a new subscriber to your channel! Just an additional note: for those using both the mic and audio jack from your headset, if your microphone is not picking up your voice when you insert the 'line in' cable, I reccommend either buying a seperate miccrophone, or use an audio card adapter (which is what I did).
@Trung Pham, I have been able to get audio to my headset from discord and ps4. I could not get the mic to send to the ps4. I have the startech audio card adapter connected to my laptop (PC). Can you give some guidance how you got voicemeeter to send mic audio to the ps4? I have the audio card adapter line-in (PC) to the usb audio adapter green port (PS4). thanks!
@@mapzie4966 ah sorry friend, I only needed my mic for PC discord and not the PS4, so i dint go to the final part of the video. Sorry i couldnt help you here :/
What an excellent video. I've been trying to achieve this setup for about 2 years now, but just didn't quite know exactly the peripherals I needed (the sound card and ground loop were game-changers). So glad I found this! One problem I have run into though...party chat seems to sound just fine (especially when I monitor my mic in the devices menu), but when in game (via proximity chat/in-game chat), I am getting complaints about my mic sounding "muffled". Not sure why, but I assume it has something to do with some mic clipping phenomena. When I monitor the mic in the devices menu, it sounds perfect...until higher volumes that is, when it does sound a bit muffled ( almost like the mic is clipping). So, it feels like the mic is being clipped at far lower decibel levels on the PS4. I also assume this issue becomes magnified with the far-inferior in-game chat quality. To be clear, this same mic is NOT clipping in OBS on my PC whatsoever, so not sure what's going on with the PS4 or its connection. Any ideas?
Thank you so much for this video! It is a total game changer. I actually got it to work without using voicemeter banana. And i still get all my sounds heard on my stream!
Kiddos for the video bro…. It’s hard to find videos about this very subject I always see videos of a 2 mic setup and that way it terrible if you are big on quality thank you for explaining in full detail better than most of the bigger RUclipsrs do
thank you soo much i now finally can play using my headset on ps5 and discord for my friends :D this is so useful now that you can switch inputs so easily.
it is actually possible to do this with a mic/headset that isn't usb. I used headphones with a separate mic and still managed to get it. this isn't the only way, theres multiple ways to accomplish what this guide is trying to show you.
Also if you have an elgato hd60s you can set that as the hardware device and listen to the game through that instead of line in and still use the mic out into your ps4 to use your microphone
Great video, my dude, definitely helped with my understanding of VoiceMeeter. Question for you, though... what do I do if I use the AverMedia LGP2 Plus as my capture device, with a Blue Yeti USB mic? I think the issue I'm having is with the capture card being aux-based. Whether or not you can help, thank you for what you do!
So I did everything correctly and everything works fine but the only issue I am having is that my headset still wont pick up my voice. I have all the parts like a usb headset and also a soundcard but for some reason the only problem I have now is that my voice isn't getting picked up on the PS4. My voice gets picked up on the PC just fine but just not the PS4.
Hi Boss, thanks for this video, everything is working. Other than the mic quality on PS4, compared to pc. I’ve used voicemeeter to make my mic sound better and it sounds astonishing on PC. But, when I go to pc. It sounds bad.
at 12:28 did you plug the sound card aux into speakers or your pc and if you plugged it in your pc what format did you check it under in realtek audio on your pc
I plugged the sound card to the ps4 then an aux cable into the mic port of the sound card. Then I plugged the other side of the aux cable into the headset port on the back of my pc. Then I chose the speaker option for my computer speakers on A3
If anyone can help me, I’m stuck on what to do. I’ve set up until the 9:00 min mark on the video, but I cant move forward because there is no option for an input device for me. Does anyone know what might be the problem?
I hear static on the mic pc end but it picks up the mic and a LOUD humming on my ps4 and it doesn't pick up mic audio, along with that, my ps4 audio is Independent from soundmeeter and still in the line in selection in soundmeeter for some reason. ⚠ The line in and microphone cables are in my soundcard in the right slots at the back of my pc, line in is blue and mic is green. I'm not sure if the reason my mic audio is so bad on ps4 is bc of my mic being detachable from my headset or if that even matters.
Great video! Are you able to hear all the mic audio on your stream? Also, what is your setup for quickly muting discord and/or ppl in your game chat???
Yes you can hear all audio on stream. Obs has binds for muting on stream. Voicemeeter has macro which you make to also mute. I currently use a mini goxlr.
So can I hear and talk to the ps4 Party chat whilst also getting game Audio from the pc ? Want to play cod on my pc but use the ps4 party chat I have the arctics 7 headset.
Yo this work perfectly, but do you know a way to keep the same audio settings that ive already have, i mean have the same equalizer settings, if so can you do a video, thank you.
Does this not work with an XLR mic through a focusrite audio interface? Im trying to achieve the same thing but instead of using a goXLR I'm using a focusrite Scarlett. When I test the mic on my ps5 the signal is just really loud distorted constantly. Even when I'm not sending theic signal to the realtek spreakers. It's as if just plugging the 3.5mm into the usb soundcard in the ps5 is just distorting the mic signal. Any thoughts?
I also use a video capture device (el gato) When I open the 4K capture software and my obs will the stream capture the game sound ? Will I hear double because I’m not only hearing sound from my ps5 but also pc?
Hi @Miniboss, What we would like to try this setup on a laptop which doesn't have a 'line-in' port? It is not feasible at all or we can buy an external audio hardware what we can use for the solution?
OK bud love your video I have a astroA40 mix Amp and chatlink cable as well as the sound card you used together with the aux cables I already have voice meter potato can you explain how I should do this something with the mixamp
@@RealMiniboss Oh I see! Nice one. I've been trying to work my goxlr mini for a few days now. Its a nightmare top pair. Ive got the wireless Tutrlebeach 700 do there's a usb dongle with an AUX port on that headset. But I cant figure out having PS4 and PC working on it.
Oh I see, I gotchu. The way I have it setup and to make it work with PC and ps4, on the back of the mini goxlr you should have the following connected. USB to pc, your XLR mic, have an aux connected to to the line in of the mini goxlr and the other side connected to your monitor headphone jack/controller/sound card. To use the mic with ps4, connect another aux to the line out of the mini goxlr and the other side to the sound card like in the video. Then connect your headset to the front of the mini goxlr. So i have the sound card , connected to ps5 then the aux to line in on the back of the pc, confused how the mic works through both, i head game audio but the mic for bith is confusing how it transfers through to the ps5
Hey man! Fantastic video really helped me alot! One question, if I dont have bluetooth headphones do I just plug my headset into the headphone jack and make a new tab for them in Voicemeeter? Thanks!
If you don't plan on using the mic on the ps4, you should be fine. Yeah just plug it into the pc headphone jack and on voicemeeter choose the realtek speaker from the hardware output. Now if you plan to use the mic on the ps4, that wont work.

Hello mini, how are you? I really enjoyed your video, congratulations! I have a doubt and would like to ask for your help. I use the obs to transmit my lives on youtube, but when I connect the microphone to the ps4 control the ps4 audio is not sent to the lives, so i have to use a headset on the computer to hear the sound from the ps4 and a headset on ps4 control as a microphone to speak at parties. That way I can chat at parties and broadcast the ps4 audio at lives. Would you have another way to do this without using two, one on the pc and one on the ps4 controller? Sorry for the giant text and the errors I used the google translator, I'm from Brazil and I even speak English, but not very well. Thank you very much in advance!
will the soundcard you used for PS4 also work for a first gen Xbox1? Also, I noticed your 3.5mm cables are all 3 ring connections--as opposed to the 2 ring standard; does this small detail play a big role in audio transfer? this is a great tutorial and I am familiar with banana voice meter--glad to see gamers using this as well. Cheers
I don't own an Xbox but i don't think xbox allows usb sound cards unfortunately. As for aux, I don't see a difference between the 2 or 3 ring. I have been using the 2 ring standard aux and it works great. I appreciate the nice compliment.
a year later but whats the point of you adding discord in channel 2 when discord is already on PC audio? At least for me is? I can hear discord just fine without having to set the Output device to CABLE, I have it just set to my headphones.
Great video thank you! It worked, but im using obs to stream on twitch I can’t hear any of my friends from the PS party chat on the stream but i can hear them clear in my headset any settings i should change?
I have a laptop with one jack but I recently bought an adapter with the 2 extra jacks but when I plug in the aux cord nothing shows up in my control panel and I can’t hear my console. Can you help please
Great Video! Although I do have one question. I get distortion from everything (PC and PS4) while my audio playback is set to Voicemeter Input as default. I do have a USB mic plugged in as well..just some extra info. Thanks again
Make sure all your sound devices are set to the same hz either 44100 or 48000. That includes voicemeeter and recording devices too. Then reselect everything and reset. Hope that helps.
Hey so if I just plug the aux in my Laptop to my controller and do your steps I can hear my ps4 and talk on discord right? And if I had my quadcast mic connected to my ps4 I can speak to them right?
Ok, so I can't find a solution anywhere. I play on Xbox, HDMI goes to capture card on PC (for stream) and then HDMI to monitor. I have a USB mic that I use for the PC. I have an aux jack splitter plugged into the back of the PC and I plug my headset into that in order to hear my PC audio and my Xbox audio. But, how do I make it so my PC mic, also works on my Xbox!? Otherwise I have to take my headset and plug it into my controller, but then I can no longer hear my PC...any suggestions!?
Hi man, I would like to connect my PS4 Slim audio to my PC and listen to both at the same time. I run my PC audio through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen, my headphones are the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro. I would also like to say that I have no jacks on my monitor. What can I do?
Do you have any idea how to do this on Xbox One bc I've tried using all the steps and my audio works but my microphone doesn't get picked up on my Xbox even with the connections all set up
For part two, do I need a second 3.5mm cable connected to the sound card? I have sound for my pc & Xbox when I have the cable from the line in and to the monitor.
Everything is working fine but I loaded up a game of league and as soon as I got in the game everything started to sound really weird, my friends in discord sounded like robots is there any way to fix this?
Bro i don’t have an aux cord. I am currently using a mic and headphone pc cord as that. Will that work, also I only have one monitor and my headset is 3.5mm plug in. I’m lost I can’t hear my PlayStation audio still
This worked up until I tried to use my mic on discord. It doesnt register my mic as being inputted as long as im listening to my line in, as soon as I disable line in, my mic works again. Super weird. (Im not on a USB mic btw)
How do you use your PC speakers if your green audio port is being used to send microphone audio to the PS4? My PC speakers are plugged into the green audio port on the PC sound card.
Real quick, in theory, since we are using Voice Meter Banana and it’s basically a virtual audio interface, this process should work with an actual physical audio interface if we decide to upgrade down the line?
Im having a bit of an issue, im trying to ste this up with my laptop, and it says my output devices has voicemeeter input and my input devices as voicemeeter output, i cant switch that, or figure out why its backwards, do you know what would fix that
I am having trouble with a couple things. 1, I don't have a hardware out option for headphones, how do I get that to show up? currently I have my rodecaster and my speakers as A1 and 2. I am getting ps4 audio just fine on both channels, but I cannot for the life of me get my mic on my rodecaster to have the audio show up on my ps4. PLEASE HELP!
What type of headphones do you have and where do you have them connected to? As for the mic, you need to set one of your hardware inputs as your microphone and send the microphone audio out your speakers into the pink port of the usb sound card (aka microphone port) in order to speak on the ps4.
yo firstly congrats to 150 subs... your on 264 right know, nice! I´ve just a question would be nice when you have time to answere... I´ve a Laptop which has a line out... so i bought a extern soundcart to connect it to my laptop via usb which i did... so now I´m able to here my Ps4 on pc caus its connected with the soundcard via line out. The problem is that the ps4 does not recognize ony mic... is there any way to fix it? (my headset is connectet to the extern soundcard line out and mic in) have a nice day would appreciate an answere...
Will this work for someone using a non USB headset (I have audio tech m50x) since the back green input will be used by ps4? Would I just connect my m50x to front panel?
You could but without the ps4 connected to the rear green output. The problem that I was having was trying to separate both the rear and front output sound. They both share the sound meaning anything you try to hear from the front output will be sent out to the rear output/ps4 also.

Hey so if I just plug the aux in my
Laptop to my controller and do your steps I can hear my ps4 and talk on discord right? And if I had my quadcast mic connected to my ps4 I can speak to them right?
How can i configure OBS with this? It's amazing, but i cant figure how
I have a question, on my playstation i can barely hear any audio do you have any solutions for my issue? but other than that amazing tutorial!
With this method is it possible to stream on a ps5 sharing also the audio of discord (in streaming)?
Ok, so I can't find a solution anywhere. I play on Xbox, HDMI goes to capture card on PC (for stream) and then HDMI to monitor. I have a USB mic that I use for the PC. I have an aux jack splitter plugged into the back of the PC and I plug my headset into that in order to hear my PC audio and my Xbox audio. But, how do I make it so my PC mic, also works on my Xbox!? Otherwise I have to take my headset and plug it into my controller, but then I can no longer hear my PC...any suggestions!?
why won't my hyper x solocast microphone show up when i try to set it to A2 hardware output? any fix?
Hi man, I would like to connect my PS4 Slim audio to my PC and listen to both at the same time. I run my PC audio through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen, my headphones are the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro. I would also like to say that I have no jacks on my monitor.
What can I do?
how do you record ps4 game sound when you record? my elgato is not sending out any sound, i guess that’s bc it’s going to my headset?
Does that reduce the sound quality, for example from 7.1 to 5.1 or 2.1?
Does the microphone part still work if I’m using a wireless headset with an Xbox adapter?
Do you have any idea how to do this on Xbox One bc I've tried using all the steps and my audio works but my microphone doesn't get picked up on my Xbox even with the connections all set up
dude youre amazing
My audio when I talk is loud on the ps5 how do I lower it. I tried changing the audio level on the ps5 to no avail.
How could I do this on a laptop where I only have one audio jack? I don’t have separate in and out audio jacks
For part two, do I need a second 3.5mm cable connected to the sound card? I have sound for my pc & Xbox when I have the cable from the line in and to the monitor.
Yes you will need another aux if you're going to use your mic other than that you dont need it.
Miniboss thank you
What do I do if I'm using my laptop as a PC and first screen? I only have a Headphone jack in my laptop.
Everything is working fine but I loaded up a game of league and as soon as I got in the game everything started to sound really weird, my friends in discord sounded like robots is there any way to fix this?
Either reclick your headphones on the hardware output or restart voicemeeter from the menu tab. Dont know why that happens.
will an analog mic work with a usb interface? I have the podmic and scarlett and was wondering if I plugged that into a usb if it would detect on ps5?
Yes voicemeeter should detect you interface as a mic
Do you think 3D audio would still work through this method with the ps5?
I am curious about this also!
I wanted to stream my PS4 sound on Discord (through my discord mic) but I don't know how to do it.
Nevermind, I figured it out. I plugged the PC speakers into my PC monitor headphone jack.
what capture card are u using
Real quick, in theory, since we are using Voice Meter Banana and it’s basically a virtual audio interface, this process should work with an actual physical audio interface if we decide to upgrade down the line?
Yes that's what I did
Thank you so much!
How do I hook up a USB microphone do I need to convert it from USB to 3.5?
And how do I hook up a wired headset?
As for the mic, you need to set one of your hardware inputs as your microphone and send the microphone audio out your speakers into the pink port of the usb sound card (aka microphone port) in order to speak on the ps4.
does this work on xbox, im doing every step and its not seeming to pick up my mic on my console
So i cannot use the audio jack for this also what is that little menu you were using to switch your monitor imputs
There's a button behind my monitor that allows me to switch between different inputs.
not sure if its too late to ask but does this work in laptop chrome?
Hey so I’m tryna use those and use an legato HD60 s to stream. Do you know if this will work without an elgato link?
Not sure what you're trying to ask?
This video is well worth the sub. Thanks for the help. This is by far the best solution I have found.
I appreciate it!
yo firstly congrats to 150 subs... your on 264 right know, nice!
Hey which external soundcard did you buy ?
Will this work for someone using a non USB headset (I have audio tech m50x) since the back green input will be used by ps4? Would I just connect my m50x to front panel?
You could but without the ps4 connected to the rear green output. The problem that I was having was trying to separate both the rear and front output sound. They both share the sound meaning anything you try to hear from the front output will be sent out to the rear output/ps4 also.
@@RealMiniboss thats the issue im having now. I can get the line in to work but not the mic
