I've seen Redline products on a few other channels and they seem to be one of the best smoke machines out there. It certainly made quick work on this leak. Nice.

@@Hotgirldrea so what I did was tape off the throttle and blow cigar smoke into it. Sure enough I had a leak coming from behind the upper intake. Took it all apart and ordered new gaskets. Works better but still have a leak somewhere im sure.
Great Video. I have a Small EVAP Code on my Jeep Wrangler, the dealership Charged me $1700 and replace the Tank and stuff and still have the issue.. I hate working with Dealerships.. They just screw you!!!
Thank you. I always hook the smoke machine back up after I fix the problem to verify that it’s been fixed. When the ball drops to the bottom you know for sure it doesn’t leak.
I subscribed to your channel because you are professional, well spoken and you have great quality video capture. (Audio could be better) thank you for your time and help with a demonstration of how this tool works
i connected to the purge solenoid hose going to the back solenoid that is completely disconnected hose and all and pressure is building up and no smoke is coming out and gas cap is out
At 2:35 you show a tool which you say is for EVAP system? I don't know how to use that but I recognise it from the one I have one in my toolbox found years ago.. any chance you can show how to use it? Thanks.
I have 2019 Toyota Corolla my ? Did you do that with the car off and found the leak? And can i just hook the smoker to hose that goes from intake to engine
You always have to have the car turned off when you use the smoke machine. You can hook it up anywhere that gets into the intake manifold for finding vacuum leaks
@@1970chevelle396 thank you, I ordered a smoke machine from Redline Detection and they told me to make sure i have a water and oil filter. Would that affect the smoke? Do you have a filter installed?
@@1970chevelle396 thanks! How is the smoke pro machine holding up. I read reviews on Amazon that the O-ring and rubber hose on the canister deteriorate like in a couple of months. How long have you had yours and how is the condition of the rubber hose and o-ring? Thank you for replying.
was it the air intake you hooked up the machine to? im an amateur and cant tell the difference between the big air intake hose and air "cleaner", if you dont mind explaining.
So I’m thinking about getting one of these, but I’ve got a 2000 Chevy with aftermarket air intake. Not sure the easy intake inflates enough. Another thing, I don’t understand how that works with the butterfly closed? Maybe that’s a silly question to be asking, but my knowledge of the vacuum system is limited. I just know I need to test it.
My hyundai santa fe 2007 has a problem when breaking... and also engine lose power... that machine would be great for me to determine where the problem since those are due to vacuum leaks.
What if you do this and the only place smoke comes out of is your oil fill cap? Does that mean I have no leaks? Or does that suggest I have bigger issues like worn or unseated rings? Car was freshly rebuilt and its bucking/hesitating badly from 2100-3200rpm.
Ok your hooking it up to find vacuum leaks. I thought it was the other video you were commenting on. A little bit of smoke will get past the rings and the pcv valve. So it’s normally to have some smoke around the oil cap
dunno if you guys gives a damn but if you're bored like me atm you can watch all of the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend for the last few days xD
I have an electric throttle body. 2003 Mazda 6i 2.3 l. I would guess someone would have to step on the gas pedal to open the throttle body metal plate for the smoke to go through. I've heard you can blow cigarette or cigar smoke through a tube put a disposable glove over the opening where the intake goes to the manifold cut a little hole in the tip of the finger of the disposable glove and put the tube on there tighten it with rubber band or tie strips and do it that way. But in my case I would definitely have to have someone step on the gas pedal for the smoke to go through
I have a cheaper version but your video is great. Don't have a air bladder but I think I will use a heavy "punching ballon" put smoke hose in them inflate ballon
Think Autozone loans em? I hate having people work on my car but I've not been able to find this. At least I know what they would do, but I'd prefer to do it myself before being told I need a head gasket (lie)...
@@1970chevelle396 Thanks, I called to ask, but knew the answer when the clerk didn't know what I meant. For speed, I may need to break down to take it to shop for the first time, other than smog check. Honest small guy, I hope, I'd prefer to make one and find it but I gotta get on the road.

I’m a shop owner and find your video useful. A smoke machine is something I have never used thank you
Thanks. A smoke machine is a must have for a shop owner. It’s very hard to find the leaks without it.

Great tutorial. But does the smoke makes its way into the throttle to see if intake manifold is leaking? Thanks
Yes. It makes its way into everything.
Great. Thank you
Good explanation!
Question: what if there's no leak and all that smoke goes into the engine, can it cause other issues? Thanks
The smoke won’t cause any issues with the engine.
Great job sir!

What's the psi settings on smoke detector.... Thanks
It puts out 1 psi

It’s for taking the valve stems out on the service port.

Normal smoke comes out from Dipstick when pull it out ?
Yes. It will normally get into the crankcase .
Awesome video Thank you!!!

Hello, do i need to have a moister and oil filter on my compressor when hooking up the smoke machine? Thanks
No you don’t need to do that. But it is always best to keep moisture out of your air lines.
@@1970chevelle396 thank you, I ordered a smoke machine from Redline Detection and they told me to make sure i have a water and oil filter. Would that affect the smoke? Do you have a filter installed?
I don’t think It would effect the smoke. I only have a water trap that I made out of 1-1/2 pipe on the system. No filter

The easy intake inflates pretty big. The smoke will get around the butterfly.
You get 10000 points for that lab coat
Would it help to open the throttle body a bit? I just ordered this bladder.
You can do that. But the smoke stills seems to get threw there without doing that.
Great video!! Autool sdt206 is another good smoke machine no need for shop air and way cheaper than redline
Redline also makes one with a built in air compressor.
Very nice sir,are you still using it
Yes I still use it.

If it has a vacuum leak this is the tool to buy. It makes finding the leaks very easy.

There are 10 million hoses. How to find the right hose to connect?
The best hose to use is the hose that goes to the brake booster. But you can use any vacuum hose that goes to the intake manifold.
