I agree, any amp sim without a tuner can become a pain. It sounds super realistic. But i cant stand the sound. Maybe its the IR. But i assume its made to sound good in a mix and not alone.
See it from the perspective of jamming along to EZ-drummer tracks or so. If you don't do processing many frequencies will fight frequencies of your drumkit. So, in that situation I assume it will be a real joy to play along because it will be less muddy overall. I noticed that what you say. I also prefer more low end playing single. But in a song I prefer a more processed sound.
You will still hear nuances of your own playing style and the pickups involved. Mostly the IR will shape your sound, followed by the amp model. With the use of an overdrive pedal in front (most probably a part of the built-in chain here) almost every humbucker and even p-90s will be suitable for that sound. Question is, do we all wanna sound like that? Pretty sure this is a very cool plugin, but I prefer dialing in my own sounds.
this ampsim is an insult. if one can't tweak 6 knobs and choose a decent IR, I seriously doubt his ability to make tunes we'll all enjoy 🤣🤣 this should come with instructions, like don't stick your head into the plastic bag. Though it wouldn't be a bad idea.

I love this one! Finally a good Rectifier sim haha. Also wouldn't expect anything less from Jens, if you're the best you know your stuff!

They look like rail hammers. Not sure the brand, but I think Seymour Duncan makes some like that

Do plug ins or IRs make all guitars sound the same? Since it's taking a signal and emulating an output?
