We have been asked many times to do a video on Mullet collection around the Lakes Entrance/Lake Tyers area in Victoria.
Some beautiful baits caught in short time in the Cunningham Arm at Lakes Entrance
wow that's bringing back memories!!! I grew up in one of those motels. I've done that countless times as a kid and now done it again with my kids. we use to use a clear fish bowel with clear plastic pulled tight. bread crumbs work really well. dont use bread as it gets the seagulls and swans hanging around. back when I was a kid it was nothing to have a couple hounded mullet in the shed air raters going. great video
Thank you Mate. Trap is working as you said. Sometimes is under 1hours full of mullet. Sometimes I had to wait l.bit longer. Excellent product. 👍
If you make a bigger version with bigger hole and put it deeper will you catch much bigger mullet?
From a non fisherman in KS. Enjoyable video! Cheers!
Got my burley mix today can’t wait to try it tomorrow cheers guys
Slices of bread work the same, why on earth would you pay for a burley mix ? LOL
@@TheBaconeaterzdon't know what burley is but it probably has a stronger scent than just bread
NSW rules:
You can only use or have in possession one trap at any one time.
The maximum dimensions of a bait trap are 450mm length x 350mm diameter with entrance funnel no larger than 60mm in diameter.
The trap must have a tag attached to a part of the trap which is at or above water level with dimensions not less than 80mm x 45mm,with BT, initial and surname, year of birth (YOB) and postcode of the person who sets, uses or lifts the trap, all letters to be a minimum of 15mm and in a colour contrasting to the tag.
Keep getting puffers and bream 😂
I think the limit is 20 per licence. So if you have 2 people with fishing licence, you can take 40. That's the way I understand the law.
Well your completely wrong so don't say it if it's not true
It's 40 you Gronk stick to the couch and stop spreading disinformation
@@jamessnelling6343People like you are a waste of internet. If they're wrong why don't you correct them? instead of being an idiot?
Wandering where to purchase a trap 👍
Please go to www.reelitin.com.au
What are the regulations on this? How much can you take?
I was wrong as I thought up until now that fish traps were illegal in Victoria.
These traps have been approved by Victorian Fisheries. They actually purchased some traps for their annual fishing competitions
I purchased your product and I am attracting a lot of mullets with my bait
, but the trap was placed for over an hour and there were no mullets
Willing to get into the trap, I don't know what's going on...
Same problem mate, used the traps multiple times at different places with no success
Old mate is probably filling his traps up with mullet caught with a cast net to sell a product! Hopefully it works for you 🤞
Gday .. are these traps legal for use in northern NSW? Thanks
Hey mate, they sure are 👍
@@mialla75 thank you. Do they have some kind of tie down points? There's a bridge near me that I'd want to lower the trap down from
They have 2 x 13mm bleed holes in the top. Some have used it with ropes, we haven't personally so I can't really say. Once full of water tho, they are heavy tho.
@@mialla75 ok thank u
I would love to see this trap work in AMERICA. I live in Bradenton ,FL. I made one of these traps and put it in Mullet infested water. NOTHING. I would love to see this work in the U.S.A. If it works live it would shut the mullet market down here.
Why use the perspex? Why not just wire mesh?
How would the burley stay in the wire mesh 😂
Nice
the trap is glass or not ..
@@makisathanasatos7022 not, Perspex
I would be very very grateful if you would be able to sell my one these traps if you are making them to sell please. Something that I have been looking for to buy an help me get my own paddies as well.
Kind regards John Dickson
