In 1976 I was 8 years old and at my first summer of sleep away camp. I remember Band on the Run playing on one of my counselors transistor radios all summer long. As soon as I hear the intro to this song it takes me right back to then. I always loved how the song is in 3 parts and are like three different songs combined. Love all your reactions from you three. Keep going!
Paul McCartney is the number one recording artist ever. Paul has released 50 albums and arias SINCE HE LEFT THE BEATLES. Ringo was the oldest (and still alive) and Paul is still kickin on tour at 82 years old this summer.
One of the more popular Beatles song is "When I'm 64". This song was written by Paul when he was 16. Another of Paul's famous songs is "Yesterday". This song originated as "Scrambled eggs, how I'd love to eat some scrambled eggs....". Paul replayed Yesterday in 1976 on his Wings Over America tour to a cheering crowd.
Love all of Paul's work with the Beatles & solo with Wings. I had so many of his records. He has so many great songs such as "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Jet", "Live & Let Die", "Listen To What The Man Said", "Silly Love Songs", "Let 'Em In", "My Love", "Helen Wheels", "Let Me Roll It", "Junior's Farm", "Venus & Mars/Rock Show", "Mull Of Kintyre", "With A Little Luck" etc.
Paul is still touring and playing concerts in the USA with his band. Checkout when he played our big UK annual music festival, Glastonbury in 2022. There's a video when he's singing with John Lennon (who passed in 1980) 'I've Got a Feeling', who's on video. It's magical, especially seeing Paul's face when singing with his old friend and Beatles partner/co-writer.
I havn't heard this for a long time and yet it sounds just as good. The opening Scenes are of the Liverpool waterfront at The Pier Head, My home city 🎸🎸
I love your conversations before you watch the videos😊. Donna Ringo Starr is still alive married to Actress Barbara Bach. On the subject of marriage Paul was married for many years to Linda (Eastman of the Eastman/Kodak family) Linda was in the band Wings with him she played keyboards. Sadly she died of Cancer. He's been married TWICE since. His Daughter Stella McCartney is a well known fashion designer. Those Marshall Amps and Speakers brought back memories😊. Great reaction as usual.❤
Linda wasn't related to the Eastman/Kodak family. A great misconception, just because she was a photographer. Another daughter, Mary, is also a top photographer and has made documentary films, as well - even one called 'If These Walls Could Sing' a history of the Abbey Road Studios and the greats who have recorded there.
Nice! I still have my 45's including Billy Don't Be A Hero!! And THE NIGHT CHICAGO DIED. JOY TO THE WORLD. SMOKING IN THE BOYS ROOM SEASONS IN THE SUN to name a few!! ☮️
I remember when I was in the 9th grade and Band on the run was my favorite song and it was also the favorite song of several of my other friends at the time. It's hard to believe that so much time has gone by...
McCartney wrote this song in response to drug laws that criminalized him and his friends (including fellow "bands on the run" Eagles and Byrds). "We're not criminals," he explained. "We just would rather do this than hit the booze - which had been a traditional way to do it. We felt that this was a better move." Shortly after the Band On The Run album was released, McCartney told Melody Maker: "The basic idea about the band on the run is a kind of prison escape. At the beginning of the album the guy is stuck inside four walls, and eventually breaks out. There is a thread, but it's not a concept album." Asked if this was a reference to Wings escaping from The Beatles, he replied: "Sort of - yeah. I think most bands on tour are on the run." The song begins in a metaphorical prison ("stuck inside these four walls..."). Where the orchestra comes in is where McCartney envisioned a hole being blasted in one of the walls, and the subsequent escape Source: Songfacts
He later did a solo song, Once Upon A Long Ago, where he cleverly used the lyrics "Playing guitars on an empty stage / Counting the bars of an iron cage" which is counting bars - music - but likening the bars to those of a cage. Very clever lyrics.
To get an idea of Paul's vocal range, compare his singing of "Oh! Darling!" & "Helter Skelter" & "Long Tall Sally", to his softer songs like "Mother Nature's Son" & "Blackbird" & "I Will".
Saw them in '75 in Seattle at the King Dome, first concert at the new stadium, 80,000 attended and it was the Wings Over America tour. this was one of the songs they played.
NICE! 1973 growing up on Oahu. One of 20 songs that takes me back there. LIVE AND LET DIE famous as a James Bond theme. SILLY LOVE SONGS is a nice one and UNCLE ALBERT / ADMIRAL HALSEY also a favorite!! ROCKY RACCOON a Paul/ Beatles song 1968! Many MANY great songs by Sir Paul. Great Job Ladies!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Such a great song by Sir Paul McCartney, I still have this album. This one Music Legend I never did go see live. I'm so sad to hear that Ringo Star has passed away... No wait, never mind, sorry Donna!!! lol
I've always preferred the 1976 live version of Band on the Run from McCartney's "Wings Over America" album. That remains my favorite McCartney album to this day. Another of Paul's hit songs is "Mull of Kintyre", about his farm in Scotland.
This was my first concert, an eleventh birthday present from my mom and dad. 1975-1976 Wings Over The World Saturday, May 15,1976. At the Capital Center in Landover, Md. My parents got off work Friday evening, drove the 7 hours to get to my aunt’s home in Maryland and then they took me to the show the next day. My dad held me up the entire show. I was there for Macca but as a beginning drummer I really wanted to see WINGS drummer Joe English. I have a Wings “W” tattoo as a remembrance. I still have the T-shirt, program and ticket stub from the show. The best parents.
Another amazing Wings song to listen to is “Too Many People.” Written about/to another Beatle, George Harrison. They were all going through a nasty phase after the break up. But still a great song. Their biggest hit was probably “Mull of Kintyre.” One of those songs that once you hear it, you’re humming it for the rest of the day. Whether you want to or not.
the beatles set themselves so far ahead of everybody else.that when they broke up.the got to sing about themselves & each other.the references to the undertaker & the rabbit are to beatles members on beatles album covers.they were brilliant.
My favorite song by Paul McCartney and Wings. If you listen closely, it's' like three songs in one. Yes Kathy, Paul McCartney was a Beatle 😂. Ringo is still alive. Don't kill him before his time 😂
Paul was far too creative to constantly have one song be the same from beginning to end, the creativity is just bursting from him. He puts into one song what other song writers would stretch to four or five songs.
None of them were/are lazy, although John did take a long break to raise his and Yoko's son. George kept recording, gardening and film making and was co-founder of The Traveling Wilburys. Ringo has his All Starr Band and tours, regularly.
"you're right i have heard it" lol . i am sitting here at 30 and (although i listen to underground alt and indie rock and metal now) i am like...i have actively known this song and all the classic rock groups my whole life lol.
Paul and Ringo are still alive. John and George are gone. You guys should do "Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey" by McCartney and Wings. It's got a weird title, and it's kind of a weird song, but it's also a lot like "Band on the Run," and it was a radio hit. I think it would be fun for you.
I literally wore my Paul McCartney "Wings over the World T-shirt 👕 for 5 years in a row for school pictures. ’76-'81 2nd-6th grades. Such a radio staple in the late '70s. Good times Great oldies!!!🎶🎶🎵🎶✌️
"The 1st one said to the 2nd one there." Paul McCartney & Wings | Band On The Run. One of my all time favorite lyrics. BTW they did the theme song to the James Bond movie .. "Live And Let Die" I took my girlfriend to see that movie. Lots of great songs by them.
In fall 1974, my BFF and I listened to the Band on the Run album over and over, note for note and word after word. None of the lyrics on the album made any sense, but Paul had such a gift for harmonics that lyrics didn't matter one bit.
When music was...................................music. Paul and band recorded this LP in Lagos, Nigeria where he and Linda were held up while walking back to their house. The mob who jumped them took everything from them including the tapes of the sessions. The story is pretty crazy, just glad they didn't kill both Paul & Linda.
Saw sir Paul 2002 Dallas he played 4 hours. Saw Ringo Starr Oklahoma 2023. That's 2 Beatles I seen. Ringo is still alive doing concerts. He's the youngest of the Beatles. Good night Graceland. Texas peace
Remember when I was a kid, 17/18 the album came out, we had NO stupid videos.. We didn't need them...we listened with our ears, not our eyes. Recently Denny Laine, the only Wings band member to stick with Paul and Linda thru it's enter run of 10 years, passed away. But Paul played most of the instruments on this album except where there are orchestra parts. Denny did play guitar and a few trap instruments [like tambourine] and sang harmonies. Linda sang harmonies and did some keyboard work.
Donna knows what's up. Whenever I see Beatles or McCartney, I have to see what's going on. Kathy. (Poison - Unskinny Bop) You'll get a kick out of it. 😁

His lovely wife Linda McCartney is playing the keyboards in the band Wings. He wanted to be with his wife, so he found a way , he taught her how to play the keys and they went on tour with the kids
Ringo is still with us.
And still no gray hair.
@@jamesanderson5268 But lots of hair dye. ;-)
he's in his 2nd youth (or 3rd)
Why do people forget?
He'll be 84 in 3 months
I'm seeing Ringo in concert in September. He'll be surprised to find out he's not still alive.... :)
Lol 😂
Rumours of his death have been greatly exaggerated 😎
He'll take it in his, never fazed, stride, with a 'thanks for letting me know'.
Saw him in Oklahoma 2023. He ran off the stage 4 times. When you got to go you got to go. Texas
Don't tell him until after the show.
Hey young lady, Paul McCartney is the most successful songwriter in history. PERIOD!
Ringo: "I'm still here! I'm still here! Peace and Love Peace and Love!!

This song brings back all kind of memories and feelings from my younger days. No Ringo is still with us as well..
I first saw Paul with The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Sow in 64. When Kathy said she didn't know who Paul McCartney was, it made me feel old. 😅
Hard to imagine not knowing that both Ringo and Paul are still alive.
The world never stop mourning when Mr Conductor passes.
Paul McCartney is the number one recording artist ever. Paul has released 50 albums and arias SINCE HE LEFT THE BEATLES. Ringo was the oldest (and still alive) and Paul is still kickin on tour at 82 years old this summer.
Paul and Ringo are the two survivors of the Beatles and they are both left handed.

Awesome! And Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five! ☮️
Yes sir Paul McCartney and sir Ringo Starr are STILL with us and there in there 80s🇬🇧
Donna; Paul and Ringo are still with us. John and George are, sadly, gone.
Pete Best is also still alive. Sure, he was only a Beatle for about two years, but I think that counts for something.
I think I was about 12 years old when this came out and it's been a favorite ever since. Paul McCartney is a musical genius.
Paul is still touring and playing concerts in the USA with his band. Checkout when he played our big UK annual music festival, Glastonbury in 2022. Hey Ladies! Paul is the GOAT❣️Greatest Of All Time❣️❣️❣️👍😎
Great song thank you for doing this reaction. Also Ringo Starr is still alive The Beatles Hey Jude would also make a great reaction video😀
My all-time favorite song... it's like 3 songs in one... love everything about it
Paul McCartney is the most successful singer/songwriter in the history of popular music. "That's right and don't forget it" Donna
I havn't heard this for a long time and yet it sounds just as good. The opening Scenes are of the Liverpool waterfront at The Pier Head, My home city 🎸🎸
Paul's band Wings put out very pleasant songs.
Anything he did solo before 1990 was pretty damn good. Mull of Kintyre, Live and Let Die, Pipes of Peace, No More Lonely Nights, and plenty of others!
I love your conversations before you watch the videos😊.
Donna Ringo Starr is still alive married to Actress Barbara Bach.

Got to see them during this tour, best concert I've ever been to (and there've been some great ones).
A great song by a great man!!!!!

Kathy, bless your heart. LOL Guess I take it for granted that Paul is synonymous with the Beatles. So very glad you realized it.
Oh Lord, Mama!! Don't be killing off Ringo!!
I literally wore my Paul McCartney "Wings over the World T-shirt 👕 for 5 years in a row for school pictures. ’76-'81 2nd-6th grades. Such a radio staple in the late '70s. Good times Great oldies!!!🎶🎶🎵🎶✌️
You should get the Band on the Run album(or cd now) and see if you can identify all the celebrities on the cover of the sleeve.
I’ve Got The Original Version Of Band On The Run! Fifty Years Old!
"Mull of Kintyre" is an amazing one.
The Blonde woman that keeps appearing was his wife Linda who died of breast cancer that spread to her liver, on (April 17, 1998) at the age of 56.
Gone too soon but NEVER forgotten. A beautiful soul.
He was the left-handed guitar player for the Beatles
Ringo Starr lives!!!! This was such a great album. Check out Ringo's solo song Photograph.
Ringo Starr, the Drummer is still alive!
this and "STAR BABY" by the Guess Who were my 1st favorite songs when I discovered the FM switch on my little Philco clock radio
Ringo is still alive. I'm sure he'll be happy to hear this.
Sir Ringo Starr is still with us!
People really need to make up their minds. Is it Paul or Ringo who has been dead all this time?
In fall 1974, my BFF and I listened to the Band on the Run album over and over, note for note and word after word. None of the lyrics on the album made any sense, but Paul had such a gift for harmonics that lyrics didn't matter one bit.
Great...great pick ladies!
Ringo is alive and well!
Great. Another great ones are Silly Love Songs and Jet.
You are a beautiful family, love your reactions.👍❤️👍
Thank you so much 🤗
Great song and album. Nice reaction.

The Best of British.
Ringo Star is alive too.
Ringo will outlive them all, and probably outlive me too.
Of course, even when he stops outliving everyone, I’m confident that his music will live on long after. How long exactly? Who can really say?
Lovely video, ladies! All hail the queen...
Paul was generally considered to be the "cute one" in The Beatles .
Great reaction, ladies, to a great song.
Saw sir Paul 2002 Dallas he played 4 hours. Saw Ringo Starr Oklahoma 2023. That's 2 Beatles I seen. Ringo is still alive doing concerts. He's the youngest of the Beatles. Good night Graceland. Texas peace
Ringo has a brand new song out. It’s great. It’s called “February Sky.”
Hes great live. Awesome show
Great reaction. McCartney played pretty much all of the instruments on the studio recording that you hear in this video. He is very talented.
I'm so glad you *all* like Paul! Listen to albums if you have time. London Town, for example...
Ringo still rockin ...
Remember when I was a kid, 17/18 the album came out, we had NO stupid videos.. We didn't need them...we listened with our ears, not our eyes. Kathy. (Poison - Unskinny Bop) You'll get a kick out of it. 😁
This whole album along with RAM are two of the best albums by anyone!
Paul is so the GOAT, the introduction to his song was actually two other songs. What a beast!
LOL !!!!! YOU 3 KILL ME LOL!!! I LOVED THEM !!!
Too Many People is a great Paul & Linda McCartney song from the Ram album ...
Nice!! Forgot about that one! ☮️
Ringo is still living. Dang girl
Ah the 70s. My favorite decade ❤.
Yeah. Ringo is alive and well.
I've never been a huge Beatles fan but I do like Wings. My favorite is probably Silly Love Songs. Great walking bass line in that song.

Ok, so mom isn’t ALWAYS right (Ringo!), but she’s mostly always right 😉
You ladies forgot about Ringo. Sir Richard Starkey.
