In 1976 I was 8 years old and at my first summer of sleep away camp. I remember Band on the Run playing on one of my counselors transistor radios all summer long. As soon as I hear the intro to this song it takes me right back to then. I always loved how the song is in 3 parts and are like three different songs combined. Love all your reactions from you three. Keep going!

One of the more popular Beatles song is "When I'm 64". This song was written by Paul when he was 16. Another of Paul's famous songs is "Yesterday". This song originated as "Scrambled eggs, how I'd love to eat some scrambled eggs....". Paul replayed Yesterday in 1976 on his Wings Over America tour to a cheering crowd.

Love all of Paul's work with the Beatles & solo with Wings. I had so many of his records. He has so many great songs such as "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Jet", "Live & Let Die", "Listen To What The Man Said", "Silly Love Songs", "Let 'Em In", "My Love", "Helen Wheels", "Let Me Roll It", "Junior's Farm", "Venus & Mars/Rock Show", "Mull Of Kintyre", "With A Little Luck" etc.

Paul is still touring and playing concerts in the USA with his band. Checkout when he played our big UK annual music festival, Glastonbury in 2022. There's a video when he's singing with John Lennon (who passed in 1980) 'I've Got a Feeling', who's on video. It's magical, especially seeing Paul's face when singing with his old friend and Beatles partner/co-writer.

I love your conversations before you watch the videos😊.
Donna Ringo Starr is still alive married to Actress Barbara Bach.
On the subject of marriage Paul was married for many years to Linda (Eastman of the Eastman/Kodak family) Linda was in the band Wings with him she played keyboards.
    Sadly she died of Cancer.
    He's been married TWICE since.
His Daughter Stella McCartney is a well known fashion designer.

Linda wasn't related to the Eastman/Kodak family. A great misconception, just because she was a photographer.
Another daughter, Mary, is also a top photographer and has made documentary films, as well - even one called 'If These Walls Could Sing' a history of the Abbey Road Studios and the greats who have recorded there.

McCartney wrote this song in response to drug laws that criminalized him and his friends (including fellow "bands on the run" Eagles and Byrds). "We're not criminals," he explained. "We just would rather do this than hit the booze - which had been a traditional way to do it. We felt that this was a better move."
Shortly after the Band On The Run album was released, McCartney told Melody Maker: "The basic idea about the band on the run is a kind of prison escape. At the beginning of the album the guy is stuck inside four walls, and eventually breaks out. There is a thread, but it's not a concept album."
Asked if this was a reference to Wings escaping from The Beatles, he replied: "Sort of - yeah. I think most bands on tour are on the run."
The song begins in a metaphorical prison ("stuck inside these four walls..."). Where the orchestra comes in is where McCartney envisioned a hole being blasted in one of the walls, and the subsequent escape

He later did a solo song, Once Upon A Long Ago, where he cleverly used the lyrics "Playing guitars on an empty stage / Counting the bars of an iron cage" which is counting bars - music - but likening the bars to those of a cage. Very clever lyrics.

This was my first concert, an eleventh birthday present from my mom and dad.
    1975-1976 Wings Over The World
Saturday, May 15,1976. At the Capital Center in Landover, Md.
My parents got off work Friday evening, drove the 7 hours to get to my aunt’s home in Maryland and then they took me to the show the next day. My dad held me up the entire show. I was there for Macca but as a beginning drummer I really wanted to see WINGS drummer Joe English. I have a Wings “W” tattoo as a remembrance. I still have the T-shirt, program and ticket stub from the show. The best parents.

Another amazing Wings song to listen to is “Too Many People.” Written about/to another Beatle, George Harrison. They were all going through a nasty phase after the break up. But still a great song.
Their biggest hit was probably “Mull of Kintyre.” One of those songs that once you hear it, you’re humming it for the rest of the day. Whether you want to or not.

Recently Denny Laine, the only Wings band member to stick with Paul and Linda thru it's enter run of 10 years, passed away. But Paul played most of the instruments on this album except where there are orchestra parts. Denny did play guitar and a few trap instruments [like tambourine] and sang harmonies. Linda sang harmonies and did some keyboard work.

Really? I agree. Ringo who was the oldest is still alive and touring. All four had very lucrative solo careers.
You must check out McCartney Live And Let Die from a stadium show. Inside isn’t as elaborate. I think there is a good one from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

His lovely wife Linda McCartney is playing the keyboards in the band Wings.
He wanted to be with his wife, so he found a way , he taught her how to play the keys and they went on tour with the kids
