Ragon Maarten From all information available, TSMC 7nm is far superior to Samsung 8nm. Nvidia chose Samsung 8nm since it was much cheaper and TSMC didn’t really have enough capacity for Nvidia. TSMC 5nm got a density of 173 MTr/mm^2 whereas Samsung 5nm “only” got 127 MTr/mm^2 (26% less density). Sure, density isn’t all but TSMC 5nm should beat Samsung 5nm in efficiency as well. Yes, in real life use you'll most likely experience a way bigger difference between the two. Please put links to where we can get snapdragon version of Samsung
How about also doing a battery drain test with these two phones
I am a guy who never uses the phone for processor intensive jobs, hence, Ideally I shouldn't really be affected by it.
Hear me out here, even though most of the users are not power users but the Exynos version will eventually slow down due to OS upgrades (which are 3years now) as compared to Snapdragon version.
Hence, Samsung's argument that "This wont make a difference in day to day usage" which is true now but they didn't take into account the 3 years of usage with upgrades , but by then everyone would have forgotten about this and Samsung will get away with it.
I was planning to buy Note 20 Ultra thinking that it will come with Snapdragon variant (in India), however I didn't buy it because this is just not fair to pay the same amount for an inferior product just because Samsung has to enforce their chips on us for its chip business's survival.
Samsung I hope you put up more money in R&D and put up a real competition.
it's amazing how these US tech companies have not competition when comes to CPUs and GPUs 😮
Hey phonebuff.....where is the s21 ultra exynos vs snapdragon tedt???
In all fairness, only the adobe rush app showed a big difference. the rest of the apps showed very similar performance
people watch this speed test but no body uses there phone like this even for one day😂😂😂
Nobody else noticed 87% battery on snapdragon vs 85% on exynos ? not only slower but less efficient ? I swear samsung is scamming everyone
I remember looking for exynos note 4 over snapdragon version. Because exynos was better than SD
Tables do turn
I really miss the days of the S7 when their in house SoC was still better.
Battery drain test is much more interesting here.. and important.
The Galaxy Note 20 is like the war from Ba Sing Se: there is no war in Ba Sing Se
How about snapdragon 855 vs exnox 990?
Exynos 990 has its performance level equal to a Snapdragon 845. No comparison between Snapdragon 855 vs Exynos 990 or Snapdragon 865 vs Exynos 990. Those Snapdragon 855 and 865 are a lot better chipsets than Exynos 990.
Just remind that beside the S6 and Note 5 variant the Snapdragon version is always better than exynos.
If you look clearly exynos 990 has surely improved. If doesn't count Adibe rush test exynos 990 ws jst on par. And considering people don't use adobe rush each and every day people getting exynos shouldn't be disappointed
So.... both professors perform almost identically unless you spend all day processing and exporting large video files.
This speed test isn't reflective of real life use.
Yes, in real life use you'll most likely experience a way bigger difference between the two. The exynos reaches way higher temperatures and more frequently, that means that after 6 months or a year the difference in battery life and sustained performance will be huge, as more temperature means faster degradation, it could even make the display burn in at a way faster rate.
This difference will be even more after 3 years of update to slow down the device!!!!
Any Pixel 4a videos coming up? OnePlus Nord iPhone SE they all got their phonebuff style videos :|
CPU is not a problem but GPU is a big problem on exynos
No, it's the reverse. FP32 compute GFlops is similar on both 865 and 990
@@selentatsukienjoyer just compare pubg gameplay bro that is GPU
@@markoa5 exynos cpu is the problem of all exynos vs snapdragon. They are using mongoose core which not only now has been matched from power perspective, but also absolutely destroyed from efficiency sides by cortex a77.
@@selentatsukienjoyer but do you see this: cpu is used for opening apps and difference is not massive. But in gpu tests SD destroys exynos
Adobe Premiere Rush was the culprit in this test. 😅
It’s crazy how Samsung sells the same phone but ones significantly slower for the same price
It's not "not all bad news" when Exynos perform worse. It is very bad news. A little test like this cannot show how bad the Exynos is. Especially in gaming, long periods of gaming will make the Exynos stutter, throttle, and heat up very badly. Your battery will drain extremely quickly.
Can't wait for exynos 1000, you'll need asbestos gloves to enjoy a heavy gaming session on your phone....😂😂😂
Why would you not do it with the Note 20 Ultra?
Wow.. i'm actually impressed by inferior Exynos. Held much better than expected.
How many of us use video rendering on their phones anyway.
Watu mna chonga kuhusu xynos chip utafikiri kuna tofauti ya miaka tisa kwenye kufungua app moja.. Tulizeni boli
Huawei nova 5t or huawei p40 lite who should i buy and why please help!!
It is not a best channel it is an amazing channel👍
Returned Exynos version, it's worse in every aspect!! Battery, Performance, overheating etc. For overheating, not sure whether it's only for exynos, but the phone heats up pretty quick and it stays warmer than other phone. Especially!! When using camera, the upper part of the phone near camera module gets really hot. Checked the Galaxy Z Fold 2 as well and it even has the same issue. Unfortunately, I never see a review addressing this issue. Samsung! Please have this fixed.
