Don't understand how they have so little confidence in their own chipset, that they will not use it in their own country's devices anymore.
It's coz Qualcomm stopped Samsung using their cores as Qualcomm claimed they were protecting their work. This means that Samsung r losing billions in revenue from this and r gonna struggle. I wanna see Qualcomm burn to the ground and Samsung rise up again with it's exynos processors with AMD and become the best. I think they can do it.

i remember 3 year's ago when Exynos was better. Competition drives innovation. Snapdragon just took control. I think they should use Exynos for their cheaper phone/mid rangers. and keep snapdragon for their flagships
They are working on improving the exynos. If the rumors are correct they are going to be using arm cpu cores, and AMD graphics. Those graphics might even beat out the qualcom. We'll have to wait and see.

It is, even more. Now, here, in the US, on Amazon, and Ebay, Exynos version of Samsung Galaxy S20 line-up is typically up to $300 cheaper than Snapdragon versions.
@@MichaelSiroshtan In Germany it is not. On Amazon Samsung S20 5G Exynos is 1150€. Just the 4G version is cheaper, around 800€. I was lucky today and bought an unlocked 5G US version with Snapdragon for a good price.

Especially on an 4,500 mah battery.
Samsung makes the display, the chip, the camera and essentially the entire hardware. Additionally, Samsung theoretically has more time to tune and test chips because the Exynos is made in-house so the executives are aware of the product cycle.
Samsung has the opportunity to be the Apple of the Android world when it comes to optimizations.
Still, the Qualcomm variant performs better, has better battery life and takes photos with better detail and dynamic range 😑😑😑😑.

Nobody should buy Samsung outside the US and China till they stop cheating customers. Samsung is worse than Apple nowadays, which now offers top-tier performance and a great camera for $400.
Actually Google is the Apple of Android. They focus on Software to improve. Samsung isn’t known for that.

They dont make their software, google makes it, but samsung builds a cpu for google and if they both use that cpu that will be the true optimization. For the cam the exyinos version gets btter aftter updates reviers do one comparison after that samsung relises updates they dont cover every update.

The S10 series and Note 10 series both have 855 but different Exynos chipsets (the Exynos in the Note 10 was slightly improved over the Exynos in the S10). However, it was still behind the 855, which is why Samsung didn't put the 855+ in the Note 10 series as that would make the Exynos chipsets seem even worse by comparison

In some cases the battery % is off with the sd having a 1% drop a step lower, with that being said, yikes Samsung!
To keep in mind the exynos version is more expensive
If they sell all of their phones with exynos chip i wouldn't be mad but doing it just outside north america is just unexceptable
And the production cost is lower for the Exynos, which is a big reason for using an in-house chipset

@@michel333alfa-kun3 Not in Europe :) we pay 15-20% extra compared to US prices, and they sell Exynos here. It's supposed to be identical pricing, but for example $999 in US ends up "corresponding" to EUR 999 in Europe, which is unfortunate cause it's not the same currency. And then you have retailers adding markup on top of that. So we end up paying more for less, which is why I never bought a Samsung where I live. And I won't consider it until they start selling Snapdragon in Europe as well.

@@MA-cx9os I've seen enough to know that it crushes the blacks, 100x zoom isn't usable and it really lacks detail in comparison to the competition in spite of the 108mp sensor and the autofocus issues are a big deal and may be unfixable due to the phones hardware

TBH, this one hour isn't a big deal. My main concern is how the exynos version will perform in the long run. Many ppl reported serious battery issues after few months of buying the exynos one which has never been discussed in any RUclips review.

I understand all the hate towards Exynos. But can we actually take a step back and see the effort Samsung out into making this chipset? It's not easy packing so much power into a small chipset. Sure, the Snapdragon 865 is better but that, by no means justified that the Exynos is anywhere near bad. The battery life differs, but both are excellent either way. The speed differs, but all get above 50k+ score in AnTuTu, which is a score that even the SD855+ can't beat. I'm just stating my point.
well it is in fact easy for them because they've been making chips for years, samsung is the second largest chip manufacturer, only behind tsmc. I mean I think they used to manufacture qualcomm's snapdragon chipsets, they also manufacture nvidia's video cards for instance. They do it because it is way cheaper they already have the technology to make chips lets just make them there is no effort in that because they use existing technologies there is no innovation,they actually had an chip arquitecture division that would try to innovate and find better ways to make chips, they invented samsung's famous mongoose cores that are the fastest cores in any smartphone chip that's why exynos usually gets the highest single core scores, apple's cores don't count because that's a different OS, being put in android for example apple's chipsets would get about 30% less performance, anyways they closed the division last year so now they now just go with classic ARM arquitectures so there is no effort just a cheap way to get more profit.
2:59 you can see after finishing the 16-hour standby test the Exynos S20+ has its Bluetooth ON and connected to a device. but after finishing the 1-hour RUclips test the Bluetooth is Off!.

Edit: I can see the SD also has it's BT turned on slightly right after the standby time's up and then it's gone.
So does the snapdragon. It's for the system to wake the phone up 16hrs later.
The bluetooth is off on both phones.
I have s20 ultra exynos and my standby time is 3% for 8 hours not like this test.

S20 Ultra has Samsung camera sensor in all its variants ( Global n US, Ca, SK ) and it sucks...
On the other hand S20 plus in the US uses a superior sony sensor and Global variants gets the shitty Samsung sensors...

Well the battery difference is the one people should’ve taken a big deal of, rather than speed. Because the speed difference is closer now that it was last year. The battery on the other hand, is ridiculous in difference.

So true! Even exynos variants are beasts! In reality 99 % of the people barely notice the difference between these variants. Exynos is fast and gets you easily tru a full day (even with 120 hrtz) Everyone complaining about exynos blablabla.... I payed 799 euros for my S20+ so that's a really great deal imo!

I hear from internal Samsung folk that it's mainly due to the Samsung in house chip is made in Samsung foundry vs Snapdragon made in TSMC. Seems Samsung's process is not that power efficient.
Huawei too uses same Arm CPU and GPU bit performs much better due to better process in TSMC!
No, samsung uses in houses cores that just plain suck. As for the GPU it still relies on Mali that still haven't reached the level of the adreno found in last year's snapdragon (855). The shittier process just comes on top of that, but it's not the main problem.
Once they let go of their shit custom cores and go with amd for the gpu they will redeem themselves. Until then, avoid exynos.

@@Ride-With-Me-69 As far as I know the base model of the s20+ costs 7999¥ Yuan which is about 1130 US-Dollars. I don't really know how much it costs in the US, but I assume it is a little bit more expensive. A warning though: The chinese versions of phones don't come with google services which means that you have to install them by your own. That's part of why they are less expensive. And they usually have a lot of chinese bloatware. I hope I this was helpful :)
Edit: I'm not sure about the price reduction and the Google services. This is just a speculation. But I'm sure that chinese variants are less expensive.
Well definitely not buying samsung until they sort things out 11 % less battery life that's alot 4500 mAh - 11% = 4005 mAh so 495 mAh is basically thrown out because of exynos ... Samsung is pretty bad bought Active 2 and for half year they can't bring all features ECG is still missing and basically no info been android user for 10 years this year I will go for iOS maybe if samsung releases note with snapdragon then maybe but you can't trust samsung anymore

@@hououinkyouma1458 You're right Qualcomm is using ARM core but it is nowhere near "stock". It is still custom core based off of ARM architecture and they named it Kyro which is far ahead of Mongoose in term of sheer performance. Samsung ain't going to be able to catch up and It's going to be cold day in hell when that happens!

Anybody had draining after transferring stuff using smart switch? when setting phone up on exynos, might try factory reset then manually install, shouldn't have to make sacrifices to stretch to end of day with this battery size😩, this will be getting flipped main purchase reason was the massive battery

Test both again but with Extreme graphics games. My bet is Exynos 990 will die 2hrs quicker than sd865 since it'll have a hardtime running the app.

Luckily for Samsung this test didn't have any real gaming, otherwise you would've seen the heat and the chip throttling. Then you will see a large difference

If exynos came with a decreased price then I wouldn't care but asking the same price for such a bad processor is a scam. I'm in Europe so even if i wanted to buy a Samsung i would be stuck with the exynos one.

you have a version with Snapdragon or Exynos, no difference, if these actions improve your performance by 20%, try disabling those applications that I said and you will feel the difference before and after, when I played pubg at ultra settings, I spent up to 30 fps for fun, I turned it off in the settings (game launcher, game optimizer, game booster) after these actions at ultra settings below 60 fps, it does not sit out, who has the version with Exynos, disable these applications in the settings and feel the difference, from my own experience I know the difference is huge after these actions !

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I need a phone with at least 6,5 inches of screen and 128 gigs of ROM. For future proofing it would be great to have 12 gb of RAM and the latest chipset. S20+ would be a fantastic choice. But I'm second guessing myself because I could only get the Exynos version. I'm not gaming tho.

Yo exynos user here. The battery life isnt that bad after the update and i really enjoy using my s20 plus.
Yes the camera does causes it to overheat at times but if u are the type that do not play heavy graphic games this phone is really great.
