One of the best battery drain tests done on RUclips because it focuses on taxing the CPU and GPU and shows which smartphone lasts the longest under heavy load. Great job Guys.

It has been very obvious for sometime what the best phones are for battery. For gaming the OnePlus, for video the Galaxy S line and for normal use the iPhone. For many of us over-30 who do not watch media or play games the iPhone does the best as it also has the best standby time. But the teen market that maybe watch media on a phone (too small display for me and poor experience) Samsung's are the best and OnePlus have always killed Samsung for across the board optimisation; Samsung currently sucks at 120Hz, a very poorly implemented feature not fit for purpose, and no surprise they are scared of allowing QHD with 120Hz.
Saying that, they are all pretty great and for most of us (average user) would get us through a day.

The reason y OnePlus gets better battery in 120hz mode is because the screen refreshes at 120hz only when user touches the screen, or when any other operation is performed. When viewing a static webpage is instantly goes back to 60hz saving battery, while s20 series are locked at 120hz throughout.

I have both an iphone 11 pro max and just picked up an exynos chipped S20. I was a little taken aback at how fast the S20 drains compared to the 11 pro max after watching some of these tests. My usage is a mix between web browsing/social media and gaming and after a full days use, I will still have some juice left on the Iphone while that S20 would require at least 2 charges throughout the day. Thinking about giving the new Oneplus 8T a try at this point.

Thrfirst test was not really fair as firstly the Android phones use 120Hz so it usually uses more battery life. Also, the screen of the iPhones is a lower resolution, the one for the iPhone is roughly 1080p and the Android phones are 1440p. The iPhone 11 is also a LCD screen. With the Android phones, 120Hz comes right out of the box

      I thought the same.
      But think about it.
Yes Android phones do not get updates as long. But most Apps in the Play Store require Android 5 or higher to run.
So not updating basically means just missing out new Android features.
But seriously are they that important?
On the other hand most iOS Apps require the latest version or the one before.
So you have to update to use most Apps.
I think you can use Android phones as long as iPhones.

I didn't get it. My iPhone 8 Plus has an awesome battery. 1Hr of call and it remains at 100%. Awesome runtime and standby but my GS8 drains like flowing water. My iPad too has an awesome battery but in every test I have seen, iPhone loses.

IRiverss Howeve as a S9 exynos version, it get a posh poor screen on time of 4 hours, the iPhone 11 demolishes the S9 in the battery department.

I would say OnePlus 8 Pro is better. I hope OnePlus 9 Pro will be with bigger battery and also greater than 8 Pro :)

So you don't show all the test and we should assume, that you were honest? All the other tests with time on them show, that the IPhones win by a huge margin. I feel sorry for people who believe this bs.

Mikhail Don’t even worry about it, because none of this is real world usage, and less than a month ago iPhone was killing all of them. All the phones have excellent battery life, so there’s no reason to be upset.
