Yes this is somewhat a biased review of tata product once again. As a customer i can agree on the quality of product itself without a doubt. But the grey are of tata is its after sales. Absolutely pathetic painful experience for anyone. Tata's after sales is a bloat on the reputation of their product. This is something that nobody is talking about anywhere. Customers like me are being harassed by tata yet no one seems to acknowledge the issues being faced by the customer.

@@rambot670 before buying tata product i also had apprehensions about tata's infamous after sales experience shared across various channels yet i went for the sole reason of tata's quality product and since then things have been mentally torchering. Story of mine is similar to those who have been betrayed and victimized by the great tata motors. Since you are planning to go for nexon i would only advise you to find a good dealership. Research about it talk to customers and chek out their feedback and do whatever you can do until you are sure you are investing your hard earned money at right place.

I dont understand why some people have given thumbs down...I am sure they must be sadists. The review on this vehicle is unbiased. This vehicle from TATA is a real performer and comes with an affordable price tag. All the varients including the basic varient does not compromise on basic safety features, here where Nexon scores highest points. Even the periodically maintenance costs doesn't burn a hole in ones pocket. All in all I vouch this compact SUV is the best allrounder in the Indian market.

So to all the "so called" critics of the Nexon, I have owned a Fiat Punto, Hyundai I20, Honda Cty and wait for it , now a Tata Nexon owner, shocked.....? Me too. But let me tell you owning it has been the greatest pleasure for the past few months. To begin, all my previous cars were petrol ones and the ownership factor has been a pretty expensive affair for all of those cars, I never thought in my life I would take a diesel and that too a Tata car, but everything has changed now. Since I have been driving for past 16 years, I always had the mileage gripe, all the above cars said that I would get a mileage of 10-12 kmpl, but that is so wrong, the punto was the worst, and neither the i20 or City returned more than 8 to 9 kmpl with AC. On the highway they gave 10-12 but in the city 8kmpl was the fuel consumption. So needless to say I had to fill fuel every now and then, it was a huge cost. Since 2017 i started seeing the Nexon on the roads and one thing, it looked awesome, ground clearance was awesome, it gobbles up bad roads like a breeze. Finally after 3 years in Jan 2020 I purchased the Nexon, it took me almost 3 years to get over the tata badge, I also ditched the manual this time, because driving in the city was getting a pain, clutch, pedal, clutch pedal, horrendous. I bought the Nexon Diesel XMA which is the AMT version , and I am practically beaming when I say this, driving in the city is Soooooo freakin awesome, the pleasure of enjoying time with your closed ones in the car without the worry of constantly fidgeting with the gears is too good. It is freakin spacious, boot space is also tooo good, no matter how many shopping bags you have they easily fit in. rear seats can be opened up and then the boot space becomes humongous. Now coming to fuel economy, it returns 15kmpl with AC on all the time, I am practically ecstatic, the AC is so strong that even at first blower speed it cools the cabin in hot summers, I am able to drive more and worry less about FE, the auto gear shfits are absolutely smooth, you practically dont feel the changes at all, you reach 80 in no time, and inside the cabin you do get that safe feeling that you are in something same, well its a NCAP star so it should, but let me tell you about the body as well, everything closes with a reassuring sound, I will site one example of the body , one old aunty driving a Honda Jazz, dashed me from behind, let me tell you I was so pissed thinking that there will be too much damage, but to my surprise only the rear end panel and the rear dorr had small srcapes thats it, but her car was banged from front bumper to front door to rear door, needless to say no point in arguing with a old aunty so went to the service centre, the whole thing got done in insurnace for just 12 thousand, I had to pay just 1 thousand, and the car is back to being new. These are the things you don't get to see or watch in car reviews the actual owner experience is much more practical and different. So anyone who is looking out for buying a new car, pay visit to the Tata showroom drive the Nexon and you will just love it, of course living with a T on the car on a daily basis is somewhat weird sometimes, I mean if there was a H on the grill then everyone would have gone ga ga over the car coz its that good. But nevertheless give it a try with a open mind you will be happy. And now I have gotten over the snob attitude and am more amiable to give the little guy a chance. Coz at the end of the day, I want to have fun with my car and really consume and enjoy it , dont want to just buy a logo to show it to other people,

Nexon itself says next level of things are on!!! I own nexon xz+ diesel believe me its a beast. Just turn on the sports mode and there the game starts, It's like you are on a plane. Still surprised where does all that sudden power comes in the car in sports mode!

Thanks for the detailed review. I really liked it. However I have concerns about the below points which I read on some other reliable forums. Please provide your inputs on them. It is said that power delivery is not smooth at low speeds/rpm. Second thing I read somewhere that the Nexon creates blind spots due to its design. Any comment on this? Thirdly it is said that the rear parking camera quality is not good in dark. Also due to long gear throws, how painful is the experience in driving conditions wherein you need to change the gears frequently? Can you please throw light on above points? Thanks..

Yes, I own a Petrol Nexon and in city (Bangalore) b2b traffic 8-9 is the mileage, but same is the condition in any other car with same capacity. But for highways I get at least 15-16 kmpl

It's an inherited problems of Tata cars. They are yet produce very capable refined engines of world standards. You will have to swallow your words. I can understand your emotions attachment & proud ownership of Nexon. But you have to accept it has high NVH level ( noisy, non-refined) engine. Check it by switching off you AC, Audio & close windows. Compare the same with Ecosports. Than you might argue *You should not compare because it cost less, so high NVH is fine & I am like it, thik hai* God bless. By the way for your info I am not an Ecosports owner.
XUV 300 is the best in this segment. I had the test drive for both cars at the same day with 10 minutes gap. Nexon has blaind spot in the right A pillar, it has big cabin noice, and a lot of body roll. Even clutch is also harder than XUV 300. But in XUV 300 is far better in all the above. No cabin noice, very less almost no body roll, very easy light clutch. Very fun to drive. More safer then Nexon because of all wheal disc brake and 6 air bags. The 17" allay wheel give you more stable and confident drive. Besides XUV is heavier than Nexon. XUV300 is the best in this segment. Go for XUV 300. It has fun to drive strong punchy diesel engine. After a test drive with Nexon,Kia Seltos I purchased XUV 300W8(O) last week.

1. Digital instrument cluster. Analog would have been better

It is said that power delivery is not smooth at low speeds/rpm. Second thing I read somewhere that the Nexon creates blind spots due to its design. Any comment on this?
Thirdly it is said that the rear parking camera quality is not good in dark.
Also due to long gear throws, how painful is the experience in driving conditions wherein you need to change the gears frequently? Can you please throw light on above points?

Yes, I own a Petrol Nexon and in city (Bangalore) b2b traffic 8-9 is the mileage, but same is the condition in any other car with same capacity. But for highways I get at least 15-16 kmpl

Chuuuppp,i m the owner of a nexon automatic xza+petrol versoin automatic giving 11-12 in city and on 16-17 on highway,manual version nexon gives 13-14 in city and 18-19 on highway,so just shutup ur mouth nd get lost,kuch pata nahi aur bakta hai tu,
It depends on how u drive as I own xz+ petrol and it is giving somewhere around 13-15 in city and 15-17 on highways

It's an inherited problems of Tata cars. They are yet produce very capable refined engines of world standards. Right now the focus is only on design, safety, rid quality & goodies.

I can understand your emotions attachment & proud ownership of Nexon.
But you have to accept it has high NVH level ( noisy, non-refined) engine. Check it by switching off you AC, Audio & close windows. Compare the same with Ecosports.
Than you might argue *You should not compare because it cost less, so high NVH is fine & I am like it, thik hai*

XUV 300 is the best in this segment. I had the test drive for both cars at the same day with 10 minutes gap. Nexon has blaind spot in the right A pillar, it has big cabin noice, and a lot of body roll. Even clutch is also harder than XUV 300. But in XUV 300 is far better in all the above. No cabin noice, very less almost no body roll, very easy light clutch. Very fun to drive. More safer then Nexon because of all wheal disc brake and 6 air bags. The 17" allay wheel give you more stable and confident drive. Besides XUV is heavier than Nexon. XUV300 is the best in this segment. Go for XUV 300. It has fun to drive strong punchy diesel engine. After a test drive with Nexon,Kia Seltos I purchased XUV 300W8(O) last week.
