Continuing the discussion of some of the fascinating differences between the Taiwanese T91 and the standard AR.
A quick correction, a viewer noted that we incorrectly state that the sole purpose of the cutout in the bolt carrier is to allow for forward assist capability with a finger. The main purpose of the cutout is to provide space for the dust cover latch. A secondary use for the cutout is as a forward assist which can be performed with an index finger.

The one downside to the Taiwanese upper is that it does not have a shell deflector. And if you’re a lefty the hot cases will tear the side of your face and neck up after a couple of mags.

If you're a lefty they do have an attachable shell deflector

I would think the rounded lugs are less likely to shear.
