Jason, you have my complete admiration for the variety of ideas and knowledge you display as you make improvements on your homestead. You show that you have thought out the "problem" and designed an innovative solution for it. Bravo! You're a handy man to have around. Congratulations to Lorraine and Penelope!
I too am from socal and now living on 1 acre in Western Kentucky. Our struggles are similar to yours so we appreciate you vids!! This one in particular is so good for setting up a water system that requires little work re watering. Can't think you enough. Bless you and your family
Good build. I do have one suggestion. Add a quick coupler at the bucket end of the hose that way you can disconnect and reconnect quickly and the threads will last longer. Less likely to eventually get stripped out. Otherwise great build.😃👍🐓🐓🐓
Your family is awesome 😎 I love watching I’m past all the animals to old can’t do it anymore however my daughter and her husband have chickens so I shared this video with them. Thank You 🙏 Dow the land (Jason)God Bless you and your family 🌈🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Like you, I have seen this before but no one seemed to tell me what all I needed to make this work. Thanks for the parts list and the how to. You just made my life a bit easier.
Well Jason you did it again. Another successful project to make life easier on the homestead. Good job 👍 Now the chickens won't have to carry miniature canteens for a drink.
2 days!!!! I needed this video two days ago!!! I got frustrated trying to go from bucket to water line and just mounted the waterers to the bucket and placed it inside the coop. Exactly what I was wanting though!
I love watching your videos because you come from working in an office to doing farm work on a land and everything I've seen you come up with like the coolest thing at Justin Rhodes house were you built a cooler and this chicken waterer thing here now you need to come up with something for the food great job I look forward to every one of your videos
This couldn’t be more perfectly timed! Our meat chickens arrived Thursday. We’ve got the tractor ready when they are ready to go out but. All the parts but no water system in place yet. Love this design and thank you for sharing!
I enjoy following you and your lovely wife & daughter while you grow and learn. You guys are all so pleasant and upbeat! I just got my first chickens today! I will follow you for more insight and inspiration!
Tyvm for sharing. Got the same parts and making 2 of em in the morning. One for tractor and one for main coop! Only difference is I prepainted buckets black to prevent algea build up.
As I've been moving my meat birds this season, I decided to build a new tractor for the next round. One of the things I told myself to do was rigging a waterer that is mounted outside the pen instead of the usual in-pen waterer, because even with the waterer off the ground, they still manage to get it all nasty (and yesterday, one of them managed to poop in it). One of the ideas I had was a gravity-fed nipple waterer like this: they wouldn't be able to get gunk in it or knock it over and it would be accessible outside the pen for easy access for me for refills and cleaning. Thanks for helping my brain work to refine it a little!
You did it! How awesome, it’s nice to be able to accomplish something that we don’t fully understand. But once you get it figured out it’s a great feeling! Good job!
Nice job . I use a similar setup. If the lid fits tight I had to drill a small vent hole in my lid . I also set up 1 with a toilet fill valve and a timer so it fill automatically if were not home .
You did quite well. I've watched others build them and yours is slightly more complicated. Some attach the nipples directly to the sides or bottom of the buckets. Others make a long L shape of pvc. pipe. They glue the curved joint to two straight parts. Cap one end and install nipples, then secure it to the tractor ( hoop house) the longer piece is to fill it from, so it sticks up for that. God Bless
Great idea & build Jason!! And look how fast the chicks learned how to use it. I was starting to worry about you all since it had been a bit since you posted. Guessing the hardware cloth protected the chicks from their predator.
Okay, thanks. I was wondering how those worked. (Not the putting together, but I needed visual of the chickens drinking the water!) I got this set to try, it is basically the same maybe more peices to them but the chicken nipples are still the same, even if they are made differently.) I just couldn't figureout "how-they" would drink from it. In the description on Amazon, it didn't really explain how and all.. but at least I know now to they do it. So, thanks! Oh, and thanks for showing how-to make that.. too! Thanks!
Hey Jason, great design. We have made similar rabbit waterers with Dawson Family Farm buckets (lol). But our first attempt (chicken drinker) failed. Since then we have been successful with pig water barrels too. Going to use some of your ideas for this tractor waterer. We will add an umbrella and maybe an easy disconnect. This is a favorite! Good job J!
Nice system. Thanks for editing and getting to the point! I want to see if I can find a way to do this without so many fittings. Already spent a fortune on these freaking chickens.
He's got dewalt. I trust this man with mine and my chickens life
This is perfect! My husband is a plumber. We own all these supplies.
I've said it once and don't mind saying it again. Everything you build is a piece of art . Love y'all

This is a great idea and will stop the chickens from making a mess of their water. I love it
This is a way better idea than I had. I was just gonna screw the nips into a 5 gallon bucket but I like this idea way more!
Hi.... Jason , thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🐖🌱🎥👍👍👍
genius..chickens are living in luxury..as chiken housing goes..good video, Jason..it all makes sense.
Nice setup. I used an ibc tote! It’s perfect for a few birds or a whole bunch! Didn’t even glue the joints. That way I can disassemble it for winter
Penelope will love her chickens new waterer. 🐔💖🐔💖🐔💖

Always takes time to find what makes life more efficient for your farm and way of working. Excellent.
Jason that's quite ingenious. Thank you for showing the start to finish

Your are becoming more confident...its really looking good out there
I sure hope so. Been doing this for four years. 😊 thanks Armida!
You know, this is a great idea for irrigation, thank you so much for this video.
Well Jason you did it again. Another successful project to make life easier on the homestead. Good job 👍 Now the chickens won't have to carry miniature canteens for a drink.
If you add a mesh top like on a rain barrel, it could be self-filling when it rains and pour water without removing the lid when it doesn't!
No no no. Must have covered and dark to prevent algea build up
Awesome job Jason! If I ever get chickens, I'm using this! Shalom and Blessings from Missouri.
Your timing is perfect! Our chicks arrive in 2 weeks. Their new nipple waterer will be ready! Thank you!
This is awesome. Will use tractor design and auto waterer for my in town small backyard meat chicken project.
2 days!!!! I needed this video two days ago!!! I got frustrated trying to go from bucket to water line and just mounted the waterers to the bucket and placed it inside the coop. Exactly what I was wanting though!
Jason the master builder!
Really enjoying your build videos. Very well thought out and the step by step shots with close up shots is very useful. Thank you.
Thanks for the tip. Will be doing mine that way for our chicks this weekend. Enjoy your videos!!

I like watching other of you making videos. You do a great job.
Great job!! Clean water for the chicks and easy to fill!!
What a great job. I love your approach to everything common sense and simple.

Jason
Your so talented ive been watching you since the Rhodes farm the ideals you come up with and make
Great idea, not that I can do it ,every thing is difficult the older I get! Awesome idea!
Simple, helpful saves water and is clean. Thanks
Thank you for this video, I appreciate you people that are willing to share & especially "show" us how to! thanks, Judie
Great idea Jason...very practical for sure. Have a Blessed day.

I like this idea. Lightweight and modular. I’m going to use it! Thank you for putting this video together!
I was just thinking about building this, off to lowes thank you Sow the Lands

Thanks for the material list. I have had the same problem. Good video. 👍
Excellent low tech/high tech solution
You did it! How awesome, it’s nice to be able to accomplish something that we don’t fully understand. But once you get it figured out it’s a great feeling! Good job!
Good idea! Want to add this to my coop.
Nice I want to use this in my chicken coop. Thank you so much for sharing this. God bless y’all.
I had the same problem about the build, now I know what I need to build it. thanks Jason
took me over a month to figure this out. thanks
I like that idea, much better design using the flex line.
once again you are amazingly talented BRAVO
Really like this idea. Very nice. Thank You God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️🙏❣️
Jason for the spot you set the water bucket add a cross brace under the water bucket to support the weight of water and bucket
Thanks so much! I have been trying to figure it out as well. Love your channel & all the inspiration.
Jesus I got lost just with him listing off everything we need 🤣
We loved the outtakes you posted on IG...it just hit so true! Great build! Impressive and simple!
That is so ingenious! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR VIDEO!
Great job Jason......Nice job of explaining... Looks awesome.
Thanks Jason! Perfect timing . I need exactly this video today for it exactly for this same situation 👍Thank you

Wonderful project. The hook would be good for windy areas too.
Add it to a water collection system from roof of chicken tractor and perfect!!
You're so smart, Jason!
Great video!!!! Excellent step by step instructions!!!
No messy drinking water...
Have a good evening 🌻🌻🌻
Thank you for a very well-done and helpful video!!
I love be e this whole setup the only thing I would change is having a clear bucket to know water level thank you
Great job Jason.
Great idea & build Jason!! And look how fast the chicks learned how to use it.
I was starting to worry about you all since it had been a bit since you posted. Guessing the hardware cloth protected the chicks from their predator.
Excellent, Jason!
Very impressive build!
Love this video. I can’t wait to make my own. Will be so helpful in the summer from bugs. Thank you for the help! ❤
Love your video's. Watching and learning.
Nice video. Your channel is approaching 100K subscribers.
Awesome instructions thanks! Can't wait to give it a shot
Okay, thanks.

Oh, and thanks for showing how-to make that.. too! Thanks!
Great video, thanks for the complete list of items needed to do this waterer!
Another great build video Jason. I’m definitely going to have to look into doing this for my new chicken tractors. Thanks for sharing!
At first of video looked to much of a hassle, at the end it’s a super great idea, I am tired of pooped lids😍🤝
Thank you Jason! So timely for me!
Thank you for sharing how you made it!

Awesome video Jason! You did a great job. 👍🏻
Have loved this.. Thanks for the techniques your using
Nice system. Thanks for editing and getting to the point! I want to see if I can find a way to do this without so many fittings. Already spent a fortune on these freaking chickens.
They picked it up fast, didn't they? So much better to decrease the mess. Well done,
Great Job once again Jason
thanks, archiving this for when i get my chickens very helpful!
How did these work out?? I don't see them on any of your newer chicken tractors.
Great video! Easy to follow - and love the hook to keep the bucket from sliding. :)
Do the chicks have easy time getting water from there
Do the buckets need to be food and water grade ?
Awesome build! Glad it worked out!
Where did you find the adapter that go in the pail??
Liked and appreciated widget/contraption content.
This was great!!!!! I'm definitely doing this... thank you so much
Awesome idea Jason, good job👍🏼
How do you get the sleeve into the line? I ordered the items in the kit and there’s no way the brass insert fits into the hole.
Great detailed video Jason! Thanks!
I love the tractor really
