+E Drew Not even the 1995 world championship season. The sad thing is we should have won three world series in the 90's. The 1991 world series when Ronnie Smith made that stupid running error that cost us the lead in game seven. Who knows what would have happened after that. Of course the 1995 world series championship. And the following year 1996 against the yankees. We had them 2-0 going home we should have won it at least in five games. That hurt most of all.

Charlie Leibrandt as a reliever. I can't ever forget the guy throwing meat balls for any hitter to cream it over the fence.

@@johnnyfive222 Even just winning one of those two years would have made a huge difference. Any team with multiple championships is going to be remembered as truly great. I'm thrilled that we won one but just winning one doesn't set us apart from any other team that ever wins a World Series.

Yes the Braves should've won the world series in 91. Kent herbek cheated pulling Ron Gant's leg off the base.

@@heatherratliff1813 Ron gant getting pulled off base and Lonnie Smith's base running screw up. I wasn't even alive then, just heard the stories. Oh, and Cox putting in Charlie Leibrandt against Kirby Puckett in game six. Best breakingball hitter vs a breaking ball pitcher (what could go wrong? Lol)

I was 12 and followed the team closely all season. I thought Steve Avery was the best. Ironically, he eventually would take a back seat to Glavine and Smoltz. But in post-season play, Avery was a star that delivered many key wins.

1991 will always be great for changing the entire history of the franchise and all of the excitement, but wow does 2021 come close now. To go from the high levels of frustration and mediocrity to a hot streak that ran through the playoffs and win it all! The team needs to make a documentary like this again, or have someone like the 30 for 30 folks make one about this past season.

This was the year I became a Braves fan. What a magical season 1991 was. Really wish we were able to finish it off against the Twins. Which to this day, from beginning to end, was the best world series I've ever seen.
Bought a Braves jersey at the all-star break and have worn it every single year in the playoffs until this year, when I just layed it down on a chair beside me. And we finally won it all again! 30 years of memories... and even though we won it all in 1995, it was the 1991 team along with this 2021 team I loved most. GO BRAVES!!!

It's interesting the striking ties the Braves and Royals have had over the years. Schuerholz as mentioned in this video went from KC (where he won a WS) to Atlanta and began to build that dynasty. Circa 2006, Dayton Moore goes from Atlanta to KC and now a decade later is a world champion himself.

With all the regular season success they had for over a decade after this season ....... this franchise really gives the Buffalo Bills four consecutive Super Bowl appearances with no title some reasonable company. I watched this Braves team folly in playoffs and World Series year after year and I to this date believe the Indians should have won the title in 1995. Never cared for Greg Maddux they gave him a floating strike zone.

But Braves fans got a glimpse in the early 1990s of how intense the Dodgers/Giants rivalry truly is. Even when one team doesn't go to the playoffs, it can make its season by spoiling the other one as the Giants did to LA in 1991 and the Dodgers did to the Giants two years later. I actually like that rivalry better than overhyped four hours of Red Sox/Yankees.
