What happens if the Olymics take place in an area thats not near a beach like NYC?! Surfing is too destination specific. You can't create an artificial surfing area like a rock wall for climbing. This won't work well or last.
Cricket is definitely NOT played by a 100 countries. It has around two dozen active participants on the international stage. Personally I don't think Association football (soccer) should be in there because it has multinational competitions every year and they're all mainstream and well-followed. Olympic slots are limited and every few years sports are threatened with being cut out. With basketball and baseball its one of the few times we see global competition, since the U.S. is so insular it doesn't compete with other countries, they don't even send their best teams at FIBA World Cup. I would like to see Rugby Nines (Rugby League football) in the Olympics since Rugby Sevens (Rugby Union football) is already in there.
