i know him a lot. actually, he is a very shy boy when he is not in the match. he is a very nice person, he is very nice to everyone, including his opponents. but he can not speak english, so he can not communicate with foreign opponents like timo boll. so it seems like he is not so nice, but that is not the fact.
I didn't like ZJK at first because he defeated WLQ and WH whom I followed. Today I think he has to be the most gifted tt champion the world has ever seen
i trully believe he is the best player ever to play the game...the only other player i see his technique madness is waldner..a match between zhang and waldner both in their prime would be the absolute match....
Both were supreme in their era but ZJK was the better athlete. In his prime too, ZJK's mental fortitude was extremely strong...like coming back many times from set deficit and taking the match away. The top players in his era were never certain of winning a set when they faced prime ZJK

Started playing passionately after watching it in 2008. ZK was very inspiring. But then Ma Long came on and has been ruling since then. ZK was left behind by players like Fan Z, Xu Xin, T Harrimoto... But the GOAT Ma Long could not be over thrown.

Ma Long is 'like a robot' because he's a shy introverted guy. On the other hand, Zhang Jike is a very extroverted person. But what I like about Ma Long is that he is humble and he never goes over the top.
He is world champion no doubt, but he grew in fame very quickly, Chinese media likes him since he is good looking and good for future of table tennis... though thats all good, all the attention on him seems wasted as his rivals begin to show up(many argues Xu xin or ma long are even beter than him). He starts lossing, and people naturally would start doubting him. No one can remain at the top forever, and hopefully Zhang Jike can live up to all the expectations in the future

after wttc 2015..when he got serious injuries & conflicts with his own club Luneng, being the only grand slam achiever (currently), he did not get any support from the national team which makes his injuries worse and lose more (no system training and physio around him). Not to find any excuses for him but only want to clarify that, he was never being "liked" by the coach and the mainstream media.
Timo Boll was so polite and shook hands warmly but Chinese players always have a cold face and ignore them... The only ''warm'' players are Wang Hao....
