I got mad that @AndrewMasters ended the tour so early. Should have been an hour longer. Great studio, great studio tour, great interview, and great stories. Thats by far my favorite studio tour on the internet!!! Great job, but you ended too early lol
Ok, let me stop you there. I’m 56. We’re not old, we’re VINTAGE. And we’re just old enough to know what great music is. Kids today have no idea what it is to hear great classic records get released every month. Remember the 80’s? Not one month went by without an amazing album dropping from the heavens, often several would appear. Today, nada. Tyler and the Shakedown offer a glimmer of hope but we need 50 more just like them.
@@Annunaki_0517 Hold up, I'm 73 and I've known about Tyler for a few years. You're not vintage yet. However, keep working on it. 🙂😎 There is lots of great music by youngins out there..
It always amazes me how people remember the name of everything they own when it is just a random assortment of letters. My 'studio' has about 3 things in it and I can't remember what any of them are called...
I never tire of hearing Tyler talk about how lucky he has been and the stories he shares. He is such a humble and real human. Thank you for sharing this with us. I can't wait to hear their next album and see them live again 🤘
I haven't watched all of the Epic Home Studios, but this one is the most inspiring so far. I'm getting chills from his stories of how his life was changed forever by Roosevelt Twitty, just being excited to jam with his friends, being a geek, his passion and excitement for making music.
Meet him in Freiburg/Germany few years ago. They played a small Club called Waldsee. There where maybe like 40 people, but it was one of the most intense live shows I ever witnessed. Talked to him a bit, such a nice and humble guy!
Had the pleasure of recording a record years ago at a studio in Seattle that was MUCH more equipped than other home studios I’d been to before. The engineer miked up my older sonor kit with a slingerland snare. Full set up. Then in the back of the room a single old rusty looking German ribbon microphone was placed. All this was going onto a 2inch 24track studer? Massive fawking machine on wheels with snake cables all that shit. Anyway the best sounds ever coaxed out of my drums and cymbals was with room ribbon mike that looked like it belonged at the bottom of a old tool box. Turns out that particular mike was used on Supertramps breakfast in America record in the 1970’s. A learning experience.
Simply amazing. Tyler is such a gifted man, I'm happy for him having the oportunity to live his dream and make what he does the best, giving us awesome songs!!
I was in that show in lisbon, it was raining A LOT, and people just wanted to start hearing some music to somehow forget the fact we were all wet. And we did! They were awesome. Cheers
Tyler is one of those guys who is livin' the dream, and totally deserving of every bit of it. Humble, hard working, and appreciative of every speck of good karma that has circled back 'round to him. Thank you Tyler and Andrew for the time and energy put in to this fantastic studio tour and amazing gear rundown. Crikey! Tyler has amassed a stellar collection of gear and knowledge in his short amount of time on this earth! I sometimes find it incredible that such a young guy has already absorbed and amassed so much knowledge and experience...and gear! But when a young man's passion and energy is so laser-focused on music, you begin to understand it. Andrew, all of the jump cuts were a bit startling and aggressive, but I understand that with so much gear and area to cover, along with all of the stories behind it, it's difficult to keep focus and continuity flowing naturally. Thanks again to both.
Just got a flashback: When I was 7 years old there was this amazing toy store in our town. I dreamed myself into the imagination to live in that store and all the toys were just waiting for me to play with them whenever I want. Watching this video just brings me back to that very same feeling ...
It never ceases to amaze me how many pro releases are actually made in people´s basement studios! :) No fancy room in room builds with tons of damping materials,- just basic sound management and læt´s go! Can confirm that it´s a 20W Marshall Silver Jubilee casually resting on top of what looks to be two vintage 50W Marshall plexis. Damn! Next to the Fenders, the Oranges, the pignose etc... Might surpirise you, but outside of my ususal operatic symphonic Vikingr euro metal style I´m actually a huge fan of rootsy gritty Americana dark country, dusty acoustic and electric blues and classic southern rock and southern metal so this runthrough was right up my alley. Been following the amazing Lovell sisters as well as Samatha Fish for quite some time by now. Love their take on Son House´s Preachin Blues and Samatha´s take on Black Wind Howlin´. Megan Lovell´s slide work is to die for btw. Dude´s a lucky guy! :)
I know this tour had a more holistic focus on his studio, but Tyler's guitar collection is really something else. He plays that pink Mule resonator in a Rhett Shull video on basic slide guitar and it sounds incredible.
Sweet! Shout out to Alan Haynes at 32:50. I see him play often here in Austin, sometimes a short walk from my house, up at the Little Longhorn Saloon. I've been a fan of Alan's for decades.
Alan Haynes is his favorite player. I spoke to Tyler after a show in Pittsburgh and asked him who his favorite guitarist was - Alan Haynes was his answer!
@@flyingburritobro68 Alan is one of my favorite players as well! Definitely underrated. I feel lucky that I live where I can see Alan play somewhat regularly.
Jesus the story about the 60 Strat is so cool and obviously incredibly generous from Don Nelson giving something like that to a random kid who's playing he liked! Guess i havent played for the right people yet...
Im a hip hop head and know nothing about guitars but thoroughly enjoyed this tour! And he shouted out grand rapids michigan where i live! Dope set up and great vibe
Tyler is humble and his art comes from the substance of appreciation. I love the stories in this studio tour. All his gear is really gear, but rather pieces in a museum!
Awesome tour. Tyler talks about touring and playing in clubs to no one. I can relate. My goal was to form a band and try to do something pro with it. I spend 30 years playing those bars and clubs. Played with a ton of great musicians, and had an incredible time, but I never really found the musicians I thought I could go further with. No regrets, though.
Ok this was by-far the BEST INTERVIEW yet! No his studio isn’t the most architecturally impressive but the relationships he has with other big name musicians and his stories are incredible. AND he has such a meaningful guitar collection. Absolutely fantastic guy to interview.
Fabulous. Not so much the studio (good) or the gear (very good), but the funcionality of it all, and the true musicmaker, musiclover, actively knowledgable and positive attitude. This one and the Kenny Aronoff studio tour & interview: BEST of the bunch on this channel. 👍👍 Congrats!
Oh snap, so Tyler and I are from the area and I bought my first amp(a 4-10 deville) from a place called C&C Guitar in Reno, Tx. Turns out he inherited the sign when the owner went out of business! Small world!
Watching this video on my tv and I happened to look down at my phone for a second and I hear Spokane WA. (My hometown) and I immediately look up to hear the story of the stolen guitar, and of course River city guitars and my friends Bobby Kluss the owner..good looking out Bobby!
OMG, guitar and gadget heaven...! I had a 1959 Marshall top 100W once, but I had to let if go when bills piled upp in a stack. I miss that amp so so much....
@@AndrewMasters thank you. Absolutely man! You are the best. You can tell you are humble and super chill. Thank you for doing these videos. Monday is my chill day and look forward to these videos every Monday! You are amazing for doing this! Thank you!
Found tyler Bryant’s bands Wayside album because of this video. It’s nice to see artists who aren’t just worse copies of other artists. Bands that make music that sounds unique interesting. It’s a good day today cause I found that album
Oh man, Larkin Poe (hope I spelled that right). I did Backline for them a few years ago at a festival in southeast TN. Delightful group of folks, and killer tunes.
Love this one man! Tyler is absolutely killer and his sound is incredible. Really cool interview and it is great to see him doing his thing at home. Love large studios but love this creative vibe that he created in his home! Great stuff!
What's your favorite piece in Ty'ler's spot?? I think mine is the big muff with the custom sticker.
fender 60'
Def the custom shop strat that was stolen for 5 years! Followed by the big muff sticker from the legend “Steve Lukather” haha
All of it!
That's easy. Mrs Bryant is the best thing about Tyler
The two guitar displays with Pinky2 and the Duesenberg...because it was MY husband that made them for TB. ❤️
That was the best Interview during a studio tour of all of the studio tours you have done, Tyler Rocks what a cool Dude.
Thanks Marc!
I love this one becuse of all the awesome stories! If you like the story aspect, you will really enjoy Sam Hunters video as well. Check that out :)
