I just bought this tractor! So your video was very informative. I got zero percent financing for 80 months. I got it with a belly mower, bucket, and brush wacker. 22 k
Thanks for a good review, warts and all. Looking at one now to replace my 22 YO Kubota TG1860 Diesel, primarily for cutting a 4-5 acre lawn. We have 3 Kubotas; this one, an L3200 with all front and rear attachments and an M8540 for pasture mowing. We've been thoroughly satisfied with all of 'em. And a good dealer to boot. Appreciate all the things you pointed out on this lawn tractor.
Nice review! Just bought a new BX 2380. Sold my 11 year old BX 25 for a few thousand less than I paid for it!! Tractors aren’t like cars😆 they hold their value and do so many things. I wanted the new quick attach units, bought a ton of attachments and can’t wait for some more snow and for spring. I bought a grapple too😃. Love Kubota and their products and all the improvements in the last 11 years👍. Enjoy your 2380!
Great review. Just bought a 2380 and can’t wait to use it. Financing was great 0% for 60 months. Your honesty was on point about the size of the tractor and needs for small farms.
I like the sub compact and compact tractors. They are a lot of fun to use. At work, we have an L series. Sometimes I wish we had more tractor, sometimes I wish we had less tractor. It depends on what you're using it for and how much room you have to turn around
Great point about dismounting the bucket only on level ground. I learned the hard way. Even the pitch to my center drain in my garage was enough to create a problem. Once I put shims under the bucket, things worked perfectly.

It beats using a shovel and I recently got almost 800 cu yds of mulch dumped and moved it all with my tractor and created winrows. All I can say is it has its ups and downs but I don’t have experience from owning anything else but yes it does what I need for sure and is fun to own 👍👍👍👍
I’ve have my BX2380 for over 2 years and absolutely love it! I use it for mulch, sand, crushed rock, and snow. I have multiple implements and don’t regret it one bit! The price and 0 interest for the life of the loan is great.
Great review and helpful hints. I work for a big end equipment company and understand when a brand will not listen to customers needs, I see it everyday and its only money out of customer pockets later...trust me on that. I have gone through 5 mowers in thee past 8 years and none will hold up to the 3 acres and the 60 degree slope, I've had a zero turn now for 4 years and the hydros have just failed, $6k paper weight and $1200 repair, nope, I'm glad I found this video. thanks and keep the help coming. And btw, Kubota engines are excellent, Takeuchi uses Kabota engines in their equipment and I have never touched one for a failure.
I went with the B2601 as I have a jungle to tame and got a rotor tiller. Was torn between it and a BX. Easy to buy and got 0% for 60 months and was able to finance all my implements at that rate. This is my first tractor and so glad I bought it for around the house. I'm not getting any younger and just cleared a thicket in 1 hour. It would have taken me 2 days by hand.

As for the tires we had flats alot but I fixed that buy filling all 4 tires with the exspanding foam and filled them up. I have never had a flat again. You just have leave the tires off and leave them over night so the foam will harden up good.

You can lock in the mmm arms by raising the pto and setting your height adjustment to ‘top’ it won’t move when lowering the rear implements. I ended up getting mine for 0 down 0% for 60 months. I’ve had two BX series tractors. Bought my first one in 2002, a BX 2200. I paid $9500 for it and cut grass with it for ten years and racked up 1100 hrs on it. I sold it for $5000. Replaced it with a BX 2660 in 2012. It has almost 900 hrs on it now. Both tractors have pros and cons and one area Kubota engineers HAVE NOT addressed is the primary fuel filter which is located under the main floor pan between the frame rails. It is a pain to change unless you remove the deck or become a contortionist. I have filled out suggestion cards and sent emails about adding a small access panel under the rubber covering on the foot area of the tractor. Other wise They have been great mowers/tractors and I’m looking to pick up a new BX2380 at the end of the year. Good review ! Thanks
Sunnyslope Homestead I do all my own service work by the provided owner’s manual. On a side note about researching BEFORE you buy I strongly recommend a person do that. My BX2660 has a metal hood but the lower shroud is plastic and you must remove the front brush guard to pull it off to service the tractor. Over time the plastic shroud develops cracks and will split up front. I am very careful about doing this as the reason I do my own services, I don’t trust the dealership not to damage the finish. I recently replaced this item as well as a bottom seat cushion due to a split seat covering to the tune of just over $700. I’m buying the BX 2380 to use as my primary mower at home BECAUSE of the tilt hood and all metal construction. The primary fuel filter is still an issue with that mower as well sad to say.
@@keithdaniels5918 Do what I did and get the relocation kit and delete that filler and mount a easy access filter on the left side by the fel. There a guy online and eBay who sells these kit for 200 bucks shipped.
Like you I find that filter a PITA, I used a piece of copper tubing and 2 hose camps and deleted it. Check out paul and Kathy Short in Canada, He uses an aftermarket filter on the side of a BX25D. I didn't use that I just run the filter by the engine, Haven't had any problems.
Loved your video. No bs, clear and really helpful as I move up from, an early property, bought a 1988 JD Model 170 (1acre, just grass) to now with a large, older property with long gravel driveways, 2acres of grass, and some wooded land. Next is my retirement groundskeeper job to earn my keep. Great comments for me: heavier tires! - Will not hurt grass, shorter roll guard - to clear normal garage, level land - for front end loader - excellent, and upgraded drive-over mower deck. Worst part of small tractors = mower deck install 😠😡🤬 Keep ignoring the rude jerks, it’s a darn tractor, not your daughter’s reputation for crying out laud…
I have the same tractor and use it on 6 acres. I bought it for the same reason you did. Mainly it’s size. I wanted to cut 1 acre of lawn, (finish mower). Lug mulch around in the spring,(front bucket). Hog 3 acres of field,(bush hog). Push a 1/4 mile driveway,(plow) Till my garden patches,(tiller). On and on. The tractor works flawlessly. I also found small gripes. My major one is the narrow wheelbase. I’ve come close to tipping with only a small load in the bucket. I’m going to buy wheel spacers to try and help that.
I have the same issue with the wheel base and I should try the spacers like you mentioned. It's a great tractor so far but the quick hydraulic disconnect keeps leaking on me
@@SunnySlopeHomestead I have over 200 hours on mine. Thinking of buying a PTO generator for power outages. My thinking is that it would be ran off of diesel which is easier stored safer than gasoline and the engine on the BX should power it easily. Any feedback on this type of generator? Messicks channel says it’s fine to run the engine long hours for this but I’m not certain...
I had a 2370 and now a 23s with drive over deck. Both are a pain. I’ve messed up some lawn trying to get the driver over on. Took awhile but now I have it down. I think my non- drive over was a better cut but can’t tell you why that would be a difference. 6 years with BX tractors and I couldn’t live without it. I’m only on 1 acre but it’s as useful as a pocket knife. Always seems to be the solution for projects. Get the fuel filter relocation kit. If your in cold climate you won’t regret it.
Looking at buying the BX2380 primarily for mowing a 4-5 acre lawn. The local Kubota dealer, who I've traded with for 30 years, advised against a drive over mower deck.
Whatever works best for your situation! Make means little to me as long as it has a good reputation, will last a long time and gets done what I need it to.
As a city boy with no experience on mowing or tractoring and building a new house on 9 acres I found your video very entertaining and helpful. I think I am still going to get a zero-turn though to go with a BX. Thanks for the video!
@@SunnySlopeHomestead Nice! and why I am going to get both eventually. Is the only difference on a BX23S and your BX2380 a backhoe? That difference in price yo!
Very helpful video. I have been researching and have narrowed down my focus to Kubota, Deere and M-F. All have their strengths and weaknesses and I particularly liked your balanced review as I found that there is a lot of opinion out there!
I was the same and on the fence but the financing was the deciding factor in the end. JD would have been nice but to rich for my blood right now. You’ll be happy what ever you choose but others won’t lol 😆
@@SunnySlopeHomestead love the kubota and there accully cheaper and affordable i seen deere compact tractor redicluas price of $82,500 wich pretty pricey for a little compact tractor thanks to kubota saves customers money and fits the budget wich is nice thats why im going with there gl11000 generator
ive got 25 hp kioti similar to yours on 4 acres same tread pattern loader and mower --no drive over.really enjoy it probably going to get piranna blade for loader --need to dig septic tank
Love your information. I have a BX2380 love it. One complaint the front tires suck. Dont need lawn mower tires on a tractor with a loader. Rear tires are great. Love orange.
I appreciate your review and the honesty on everything. This is what I have been looking for and what I need. I do everything myself and this is much easier to do things with then some tractors I have looking at. 👍😁💗
Anytime bud , when I was researching the one thing that pissed me off was ever dude saying his tractor was the best . Well I’m here to let people know the good the bad and the ugly lol
Great video, I see your correction on the Yanmmer motors in fact that,s why I went with Kubota because they do make there own motors and all metal great tractor I had my BX 2370 for years and very happy with it just wish I had the quick release bucket
Great video mike, I just picked up my 2380 on Monday and already have 8 hours on it. Best purchase I’ve ever made and was absolutely impressed with the cut quality when I cut my yard yesterday
So I'm kinda wondering what is a good price point on the 2380 with 60" elly mower. My dealer will not discuss price unless i come in and i know this is a sales gimmick.
Thank you for your time and information. We just got 12 acres 1.5 is bush hog up front, woods behind. Im looking for a small tractor to use a front loader bush hog on back. Clearing tall weeds, twigs clear a path to a barn set up. Maybe make a path to the pond. It has a good slope all around so rain goes to the pond. This seems better than the bx1880.
Great video. Short and to the point. Very helpful. I’m looking for a Kubota BX. Northern Wisconsin and large K dealer is 3 miles away. Thanks again for your practical advise and your personal experience with the BX.
Great video! I feel the same way about it. You can call my BX 2380 a lawnmower if you want to but it does everything I need it to. My riding lawnmower couldn’t handle it and I broke the transmission. Love my tractor or whatever you would like to call it.
I want to weigh in here:: The drive over mower deck is new, I was afraid of it so I opted for the tried and true slide under unit. After all I'm use to it Have it on my other Kubota too, We're a 2 Kubota family First was a 2010 BX2360, new one is a BX23S. First winter I had the 2360 I believe it paid for itself. I've been doing Yard work for people for years along with a regular job. Only reason I got the BX23S is that I was missing out on too much work because I didn't have a backhoe. The old regular deck only takes a few minutes to either remove or install. Secret is getting the rear wheels up on a 2 inch piece and using the loader to lift the front end. First thing to hook up is the PTO shaft, then the lifters. then the hook up on the front. I don't use it much for cutting grass, went to Bad Boy Outlaw years ago (Love orange) When them fellas with the deere Johns start stuff, tell em crops are green, tractors supposed to be orange. Makes em easy to find.
Great video, agree very much with your decision, heck my 2380 is coming in next week. As you said, perfect size and financing...wow, got .99 for 84 months. Cant wait to use it. New toy or should i tell the wife "new tool" ha.
I agree with you 100% on tractor choice. There are many good quality tractors out there. Buy what is right for you. I owned an old International tractor but wanted something with more features. I looked at most brands. I now own a Massey Ferguson GC2610, similar in size to the BX series. I bought the Massey because I got a great deal on a slightly used tractor. That was the deciding factor. I am very happy with it, but would I be equally happy with another brand? Perhaps. Have a good weekend.
Twin Brook Acres the deal is where it’s at for sure. If you can buy something that checks all the boxes and get a deal you’re winning no matter what brand 👍👍
Good review. I am getting a bx23 this week and it came down to all steel and price/financing.i think they were the 1st or one of the first to inttroduce sub compact tractors. I already have neighbors and 1 man contractor friends wanting to hire me out for small jobs. I may also put a video review out and i enjoyed yours thanks.
The only thing I have a complaint about is the hydraulic handle that controls the front end loader. The bucket is fine and it works fine, but, if I get into some movement situations I get tangled up and when I turn around, the lever gets moved up, down, sideways, etc. I’d preferred to have the lever back on the right side of the console as it was on previous models.
I didn’t get to experience that to know if I would prefer that location or not. But I can say that the manifold they use is a little tricky one scoop in rock when I’m trying to tilt back. But that could just be me or my tractor in particular
Late to the party here, but I love the channel! One thing, Kubota makes their own diesels so you definitely don't have a yanmar in the BX! Yanmar is a fine motor but Kubota builds the very best small diesels. Thanks for the content! New subscriber for sure
I'm looking at purchasing the BX2680 here very soon so watching as many reviews and information videos as I can. I enjoyed your video pointing out the good and bad....sure everyone that builds tractors has good and bad, but so many reviews are just the cool stuff, they never mention problems they've had, etc. Thanks for being honest. I was going to go with a green tractor, but the dealer near me just didn't seem all that great when it came to wanting to give me a demo of their machines. Kubota brought a tractor to my property and let me use it for a day and it was the major selling point. Being able to use the tractor for a day to do things I'd need a tractor for, and got to use it as I saw the need. The green company just wanted me to drive one around their lot...what does that prove? Nothing. Any tractor can drive around a lot. The only thing I'm wondering is should I get a mower deck now? I have a lawn tractor so its not like I need a mower. I only have an acre, so its not like I need a huge mower deck...I have room for a 54 or 60 inch deck, the tractor itself just doesn't fit in some places of course. Don't know if there's really a reason to buy the mower when I buy the tractor, or if I could buy a mower later on in the future if I find the need. It would be great to mow my ditch though as a 54" mower with the wider stance of the tractor would easily straddle the ditch...gets very sketchy with my lawn tractor. Mostly want the loader capability and attachment ability for future needs. Your reasoning buying your 2380 is why I'm looking at the BX series too, its small, it'll fit in my barn, it will fit anywhere on my property, with only an acre I don't need or want a huge tractor. I just want it to do some light landscape work when needed, move some dirt/gravel around, maybe mow the lawn at some point with it in the future. Its better to buy what I need now than try and figure out how the heck to buy something bigger with limited funds in the future when I realize that don't work LOL. The 3 Point hitch is another future needs type thing, if I want or need a box scraper, brush mower, etc. all the stuff I need is there. I do plan on getting my tractor with rear hydraulic ports, as well as the 3rd function valve on the loader, just never know what I may want or need. That front plow is awesome, saw one in use a while back, that thing was just about a blur when swapping between the loader and the plow...only took the guy a few minutes to swap and with the plow setup the way it is, you aren't dealing with those push tubes that so many plows have where you have to crawl under your machine to install and remove this just attached right to the front.
Yeah oh Deere didn’t want to treat me like I was a paying customer and we’re only interested in selling the large farm equipment didn’t have time for petty all me. You’re right though you’ll never know what you’ll need so get it all now under the 0% or low finance. The mower deck is awesome and cuts very well but I to have issues with it fitting in some spots but I’m planning on doing landscaping to correct that issue. The plow and loader is super to take on and off but the mower deck not so much when it comes to putting back on. It’s not the worst but it’s work. One thing I will tell you is this tractor is light so get weights or a balance box as I’ve had issues hauling loads going down hill . She’s bucking bronco with the bucket full lol . I plan on more videos with this tractor and I won’t be afraid to say what sucks about it lol thanks bud 👍
Great review and details. I went 1025R and find the mower trick is flat land is critical for on or off the mid mower. Like the Kubota one pc loader hose connector.
Anybody that sells tractor attachments makes them for john deere too at this point. It isnt so much "proprietary" On the 1025r I think I like the john deere quick attach because it weighs a lot less than the skid steer quick attach. Anybody that sells buckets makes them for both. That said. I'm still hard-core on the fence lol
I bought a B2301 in 2018. I really like the tractor. However, the rear pto is only rated at 17hp. That doesn't work with many rear pto attachments because most are rated at 18hp and up. So, unless you're planning on not using the rear pto for much of anything, I would recommend a higher pto rear output when buying a tractor.
Great video! I've been thinking about getting one just like that. I really like my L3301 kubota. I think Kubota's are great tractors and I think john deere are good too. I chose kubota. I just liked it's setup better than John Deere. Except for the treadle pedal. That is my biggest dislike about it. I'm still sticking with it though. The rest is great
I like kabota and John deere. John deere quick attach can get all the same attachments. Around the same price. I want the 2680 or 1025r. But until the economy gets past covid I cant make a big purchase even though I could use it.
I've always been under the impression not to use chains with AG tires because most of the times the chain is inside the lugs and not exposed to the ground
Dude, I love and enjoy your videos, I'm new the channel and I'm learning a lot. Thinking to buy a Sub Tractor and you game tons of info and ideas. Thank you
ATTENTION : I was incorrect about the make of the Kubota motor and it being a Yanmmer. Kubota makes their own motors which are better or as strong as the Yanmmer 👍

Man I could have said it better , I will say the darn quick hydraulic set up is the only reason I would sell this tractor. I’m still fighting it 👎
Couldn’t have *
Just got one for Christmas......great for cutting its way through long grass!
I’m impressed as well
You can do a pile of work with these small tractors they are amazing. I have a b2650 and love it
I’m impressed that’s for sure 👍👍👍
I have the same tractor and use it on 6 acres. I bought it for the same reason you did. Mainly it’s size. I wanted to cut 1 acre of lawn, (finish mower).
Lug mulch around in the spring,(front bucket).
Hog 3 acres of field,(bush hog).
Push a 1/4 mile driveway,(plow)
Till my garden patches,(tiller).
Great videos. I ordered a 2680 but I won’t get it for 6 months. I really like the no shit, straight up review. Thanks.
I’m not done yet , I’m about to make a video on my experience with this tractor after owning it for some time now. The good and bad 👍👍👍
As long you happy that matters brother 👍👍👍. Don't worry what people think or said, just for you and your family and happy 😊😊😊.
Amen to that 👍✊✊
Awesome review, purchased bx 2380 2 months ago and love it.
Are you happy with it after having it for awhile?
Just got my bx23s and I love it!
I have a couple acres and think this will be perfect. Good stuff!
Thank you 😊 it’s a blast
Whatever works best for your situation! Make means little to me as long as it has a good reputation, will last a long time and gets done what I need it to.
100% agree with you ! I'm not married to any brand as long as it runs good and last I'm happy
As a city boy with no experience on mowing or tractoring and building a new house on 9 acres I found your video very entertaining and helpful. I think I am still going to get a zero-turn though to go with a BX. Thanks for the video!
I would have done a zero trim if it wasn’t for the driveway maintenance and needing a bucket. That’s from one city boy to another 😂👍
@@SunnySlopeHomestead Nice! and why I am going to get both eventually. Is the only difference on a BX23S and your BX2380 a backhoe? That difference in price yo!
@@HomeWithTheBuffingtons the backhoe model comes with a stronger frame so if you want the back hoe get it when buy or buy another tractor later
I’m excited to see how the newer r14 tires work in my land. Thanks for the video!!!
Think it’s time to make a updated video 😊
I appreciate your review and the honesty on everything. This is what I have been looking for and what I need. I do everything myself and this is much easier to do things with then some tractors I have looking at. 👍😁💗
Yes it is and I worn my self out with hauling things by hand back a forth . Life gets much easier when you get equipment
Thanks for keeping it real!!im with ya 100%..
I was shocked my self and I love using this machine. Happy you were able to get a tractor 👍👍👍
So I'm kinda wondering what is a good price point on the 2380 with 60" elly mower. My dealer will not discuss price unless i come in and i know this is a sales gimmick.
@@unknownnamus4751 not sure how prices are everywhere but I paid just over $17k out the door for mine with loader with pin on bucket and 54”mmm
Thank you for taking the time to make the video. This video is quite helpful.
Anytime 👍 thank you for taking the time to watch 👍👍👍👍
I need to make an update video
Great video! I feel the same way about it. You can call my BX 2380 a lawnmower if you want to but it does everything I need it to. My riding lawnmower couldn’t handle it and I broke the transmission. Love my tractor or whatever you would like to call it.
It’s what we need to get the job done , right ✊😊
Dude you’re awesome!! Love you’re tractor! Good purchase!
Thanks bud 👍👍👍👍 I love this thing !
Good review, Mike. There is another channel that has that tractor and he uses it like a beast. It is a great addition to a homestead.
I haven’t started really putting her to work yet. I have some rock projects that I can’t wait to get started on
I want to weigh in here:: The drive over mower deck is new, I was afraid of it so I opted for the tried and true slide under unit.
Great comment and I would loved have got the S model but budget was a factor. I’m dreading to install the deck but once it’s done it’s done lol
The only thing that is difficult putting the mower on is the connecting the PTO
YES ! I wonder if I was doing it wrong or is that hard to reach up in there
Nice video man u will love it.. I owned a 2380 for 10 months and than got a 23s..
I’m loving it now 😊👍👍👍👍
Just ordered my bx2380 yesterday. Should have it by this weekend.
Awesome !!!! Man it’s great feeling 😊😊😊
@@SunnySlopeHomestead Thanks so much! I have a list of projects that I can't wait to get started on! Thanks for sharing your video!
If you read the manual it explains exactly how to open the hood it's done that way on purpose so the hood doesn't vibrate.
It’s could be better
Liked it! Buyin' a 2380 today.
AWESOME ! Very exciting day for you then 👍👍👍👍
Neighbor must of heard you mowing your lawn and decided he needed to LOL
Yep lol probably right
Good review.
I’ve thought about buy a tiller and doing garden work around my area to help pay for the tractor and tiller
Tractors to some people are like a klick in highschool don't sweat it. If it suits your needs it's perfect.
Oh man I love all kinds of tractors but yes some people are just crazy about the brands 😆
Kubota Bx80 you are 💯 correct on the motor and once I uploaded the video it hit me that my JD has that motor not my BX 🤦♂️
Great video! The BX tractor is an awesome tractor.
Great review and details. I went 1025R and find the mower trick is flat land is critical for on or off the mid mower. Like the Kubota one pc loader hose connector.
Right on
I have same tractor, same tires...no issue. Hood release blows
Yes yes it does
Anybody that sells tractor attachments makes them for john deere too at this point. It isnt so much "proprietary"
On the 1025r I think I like the john deere quick attach because it weighs a lot less than the skid steer quick attach.
I’m going look into that because I would like a rear tiller
1hp isn't really going to make much of a difference for the vast majority of implements, even ones rated for 18.. 17 should run them just fine
@@Morpheen999 agreed. If anything, just go a bit slower if you're using the max output of the PTO
good job..............
Just bought one of these myself
Dude I loved your review! Fixing to get one just like it, and yes I'm new to it too so thanks
So am I bud so it’s a great journey so enjoy your purchase 👍👍👍
i've got a bx2350 and love it. mechanically they haven't changed much, same engine. fit and finish has changed
Mikey! Nice review bud👍 I got a job for ya 😁
God bless you all and keep you safe
Thanks bud
Great video! I've been thinking about getting one just like that. I really like my L3301 kubota. I think Kubota's are great tractors and I think john deere are good too. I chose kubota. I just liked it's setup better than John Deere. Except for the treadle pedal. That is my biggest dislike about it. I'm still sticking with it though. The rest is great
Loves the views of the subject BTW.
Great video thanks for sharing your options I been looking at 2 different brands for a while
I was on the fence but the finance was made me choose and I’ve been happy every since .
Great review my man! I've been genuinely curious about these tractors and learned a lot!
I mention the wrong motor soo there’s that lol
Hey Jason! You actually have time to watch a video???? 😊
nice work man, thanks for the solid, objective review. Helps me a ton with my similar needs.
Anytime , I’m happy you liked it 👍👍👍
thanks for your input, it has been very very helpful to me!
Great practical review !!!!
Thanks 😊
I like kabota and John deere. John deere quick attach can get all the same attachments. Around the same price. I want the 2680 or 1025r. But until the economy gets past covid I cant make a big purchase even though I could use it.
Smart , I like both as well but the Kubota just worked better for me financially at the time , good luck and no matter what brand these things are fun
Nice review changed my opinion on Kubota
Wow really that’s great to hear but I’m not married to one brand so I’ll tell you if it’s crap or not lol
Great video. I got one and works great. Need video to add fluid to tires. Would like a video of your plow?
Me too lol we haven’t gotten much snow to plow this year but I have a few videos of it plowing for years past
"Lawn mower on steroids", love it!
Dang right 😆😆😆
Very nice setup hoss
Thank you 👍👍👍
Thanks for the video! I’m going to get me one....maybe today🤔
😳 nice 👍
I've always been under the impression not to use chains with AG tires because most of the times the chain is inside the lugs and not exposed to the ground
I have one but it's over 25 years old lol about the same size too
I can only hope mine last that long. If I take care of it I don’t I’ll have to worry 👍
Awesome review. I have a John Deere gx345. Would like to upgrade to a 2380 at some point 👍
thanks for the review... thinking about getting one...
Glad I could help 😊👍
Dude, I love and enjoy your videos, I'm new the channel and I'm learning a lot. Thinking to buy a Sub Tractor and you game tons of info and ideas.

Any idea if the the snow blower better than the blade? Or what you think
Great rant!
I try 😆
