lmao yeah, I'm at 24mins and so far it's Kevin interviewing Katee, that is what is cool about this, its more of a chat than a interview, Ming-Na interview felt the same.
I’m listening to the podcast edition, and laughing that it took thirty-seven minutes for them to realize who was supposed to be doing the interviewing.😂 It’s all good, I love Katee’s conversational interview style.
Dear Katee I just wanted to say that a lot of people love how much involved you were in s3 and we hope you will continue to be an integral part of the story. Love you ❤
I love Kevin Smith, this was such a fantastic show. He's such a professional and helped the conversation flow seamlessly by asking questions about you that he was curious about. Can't wait for the next episode
I would never spend time looking for a podcast I have to download from wherever. I get the majority of my entertainment from youtube so glad you're here.
I listen to Fatman/Blackman Beyond all the time (well, less of the time of late because he's been busy) and yet I STILL heard a few bits here and there that I've never heard Kevin discuss before. Awesome job Katee! I so want to see Katee in Moosejaws because I think it would be hilarious! Yes, I would LOVE to see Ming-na Wen and Katee in a buddy cop movie.
I LOVE Kevin Smith. I feel like he's a brother from another mother even though I have never met or even got to shake his hand. Love that guy! LOVE your interviews! They are so good!
@@robertoliver7368no, they want Ala Carte Star Wars. Everybody wants it their own way. Which is impossible. I would love to see everyone who complains have to pitch precisely what they want it to be WITHOUT seeing what anyone else wants to see. Then they can see what everyone else wants and see how little of a commonality there is between what they wanted. So they only know they don't want what they see but they don't want the same thing.
Same My old ass is getting tired of certain SW fans complaining about all the new shows just because it's not how they want it to me it's just adding to the galaxy i grew up loving and i'm just enjoying them all very much
I listened to this show and last week's while at work today. Thank you Katee, for two of the best interviews / hangouts I've ever listened to. I grew up near Kevin's hometown, I used to shop at his comic book store as a teenager almost 30 years ago, and yes he was that funny and genuinely sincere back then too.
whatever works for you! I actually like the audio too cus I can listen to it while I game, drive, work out. This feels a lot better and you seem more comfortable. Do you girl!
Hearing Kevin Smith talk this way about superheroes and comic books just breaks my heart man. He’s part of the reason I got into comic book stuff so heavily. I hope he finds his love for it again.
What a great conversation. Thanks for this. Kevins podcasts have gotten me through so much the past five years. He's been more helpful than any family or friend or drug I've known. thanks to you both for all you do in the the arts. The escape and enjoyment it fills people with mean so much .
I've been thinking about this ever since I finished listening to the podcast and now that I've made it home I just have to say that changing the name of the show to The Sackhoff Show was a great move for many reasons but the main one that became incredibly clear in this episode is that the show really is about you. I'm still thinking about the story you told when you were young and decided to try drugs for the first time not because you had some incredible urge to do so but just because you wanted to be social and feel like a more outgoing person in your new environment. The fact that it got shut down immediately by that senior actor is an incredibly good thing but just the way you described the whole situation completely reminded me of when I went off to college and invariably tried a variety of things that I never would have done otherwise just to fit within the new social norms in which I found myself. I just love experiencing that very human feeling of being able to relate to a complete stranger who's lived a very different life from yourself but when you listen to them talk you realize that you've been in situations that while different seemed to have elicited the same emotional reactions.
That has to be the most relaxed I’ve ever heard him. He seems like the sweetest person and the conversation flowed really well. I feel like I got to know a lot about both of you. And now I really want to see Moose Jaws even though I don’t really like scary movies.
I can only say this, been listening since the Rosenbaum episode and i'm now subscribed to both the youtube channel and the Spotify podcast feed. Katee you rock, and these are some great conversations to listen to like a fly on the wall. And I relate about 9/11, I remember walking through Times Square that day, and for the exceptions of the signs people put up, it felt like I was living that empty Times Square scene from Vanilla Sky walking through.
Normally my ADHD makes it hard for me to listen to a podcast lacking in a video, but I forced myself with this one (with some small distractions). Totally worth, love listening to you two talk. No criticism of whatever style you feel works, just what usually works for me and my weird brain. Youse are doing a great job!
Took me two days, but listened to this podcast twice. What a wonderful conversation of life, love, careers and the philosophies of life and faith between two friends. Thank you Kevin and bravo Katee. ❤️🧡💛💚💙🩵💜
RUclips put a commercial at ONE MINUTE INTO THE AUDIO! That is just ridiculous! That aside, kick ass, Katee! You’re a fantastic actor, and much love to to Kevin as possibly my favorite filmmaker of all time!
I love the format, Katee as I can work on things and listen to it. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks in Novi, MI for the Motor City Comic Con!
Yeah, Katee come back any time! Your Pod, his interview of you! Wasn't it supposed to be the other way around? I gotta say Kevin is brilliant as always!
Lovely interview with Kevin. Audio only surprisingly frees me up to do other things on my laptop while listening...not that I was ever forced to 'watch' an interview.
Terry Pratchett had a large room filled with file cabinets with full descriptions and backstories of every single character he ever envisioned no matter how small the part.
Personally, I'm a Christian myself, but that's my path. I respect people like Kevin and Katie having their own beliefs, their own paths, even if I personally disagree with it. I just want people to be happy with whatever they believe
I completely understand about losing your religion. I was raised as a southern baptist evangelical christian but I haven't had the faith for over twenty-five years at this point. I think that it started when I was three years old and I overheard my mom and my grandmother arguing about something (I didn't find out what they were arguing about until I was an adult). A few days after the argument I asked my grandmother about it. She responded by burning my hand on a coffee maker. "Spare the rod spoils the child" and "don't question god" were her favorite things to say. BTW, the thing that they were arguing about? My grandmother gave Pat Robertson my Grandfather's life insurance policy ($100,000 in 1982). So yeah, between that and my father's religious beliefs that's why I don't have faith anymore.
1:15:46 I know I shouldn't be laughing at this clarification by Kevin but I just the delivery of it completely slayed me. But I was still laughing at the thought of Katee sliding on the set of Mando and not being able to stop. Picturing a blooper reel, "Katee I said cut" as BoKatan slides out of frame.
I also like the audio version. I can listen while doing other things or even just resting, where you can just listen and focus on your conversation, like a radio show. I love it. It’s nice to not always have to be starring at screens . Also yeah you and Ming na Wen in some sort of buddy cop or road trip movie would be fantastic. Good luck with all your things!.
Kev is such a gem, I need Moosejaws now and to the body cop movie with Ming just let Kev write and Bryce direct it she did your Mando bodycop episode, which was hilarious in my eyes
Wonderful Episode! Been a Kevin Smith Fan from the Jump. Also, might be neat to look into doing Finding Your Roots(PBS) with Henry Louis Gates Jr. Love that show been really educational in some ways
Awesome show! I remember when I saw you for the first time as Starbuck and was thinking no way should a woman play that character. So glad I was wrong. You were the best choice and so happy they changed it to an ultimate badass woman! Learned a ton about Kevin's back story, one of my favorite directors.
I’d like to think that actors trying to become media “creators” leads to a greater appreciation for what everyone on the other side of the camera deals with while they are acting.
I saw that this was 2 hours and thought I'll just do 20-30 minutes. Here I am at the end and it was a great listen. I would definitely watch that buddy cop show and Moose-Jaws if and when. :)
I often think of the story Katee told Kevin on his Fatman Beyond podcast of the time she had workers or delivery men at her house and she told them that the motorcycle in her garage was hers, not her boyfriend's. Awesome.
Hi, Loving the podcast as always, I was waiting for new content! You talked with Kevin Smith about having your characters made into figures. What is your appreciation for fans that come dressed as you, in full costume (any of your shows). Also did you appreciate Captain Bombardier at NYC Comic Con 2023? I figured you interacted with him on set so I thought you would appreciate it. I know it was during the strike and we couldn't talk Mandalorian much. Was great meeting you that day. Funny info, I was working at the local NJ TV station when Kevin Smith showed up to a protest his DOGMA film, he joined the protesters and the reporter didn't know who he was. Was some funny stuff. Thanks for your time
Love the podcast so far. Audio is totally fine in my opinion. And I think the Chris Jericho comment was meant as he’s goes to where his guest is at and instead of having them in studio. Regardless looking forward to future episodes.
I'm still a die hard Kevin Smith fan but I believe Clerks 3 unbelievably fell short on humor because of multiple things and faith is one of them. Him and Scott Mosier made comedies that will still be watched forever. Intellectual and dick in fat jokes will always be yalls bread and butter. I believe all your fans would love a film with every actor from every film and tie together your View Askew universe into one film. #kevinsmith #viewaskew #jayandsilentbob
Chris Jericho is audio only and he travels with his equipment around so when he has his wrestling events and invites his friends to do a podcast backstage.

I love how, in classic Kevin Smith style, this became Kevin interviewing Katee
We really wanted it that way.
I was just about to say that very thing
lmao yeah, I'm at 24mins and so far it's Kevin interviewing Katee, that is what is cool about this, its more of a chat than a interview, Ming-Na interview felt the same.
I’m listening to the podcast edition, and laughing that it took thirty-seven minutes for them to realize who was supposed to be doing the interviewing.😂
It’s all good, I love Katee’s conversational interview style.
It happens every time 😂
Kevin always turns the interview around on whoever he’s talking too. Such a great chat. Thanks!

Many of us loved Bo-Katan's participation in season 3 of The Mandalorian.
In my opinion that character has one of the best arcs in Star Wars.
I'm starting to think that the people who complain about Star Wars don't actually watch Star Wars.

I didn't mind it. More because of the character but almost as much for Sackhoff.
This is one of the best interviews I’ve heard with Kevin Smith. Sackhoff is a sneaky great host.
Amazing episode Katee, love the energy on this episode and Kevin’s insight to directing.
This will be the longest podcast! Love Kevin ❤

When's the extended cut gonna drop? This is so great.
I can imagine a show with Wil Wheaton could turn into a whole thing as well.
I'm torn apart now because I want to listen to this immediately! Instead, it's getting saved so I can listen at work tomorrow.

Haven’t heard yet, but impressed you kept Kevin at only 2 hours … and lol ending up using his equipment. He is the master of the gab.

Wow didnt expect this. Whats even better than Kevin movies is listening to Kevin talk 🎉❤ great vid!
This was less of an interview and more of a conversation. AND I LOVED IT!!

A Katee and Ming-Na buddy cop movie written by Kevin Smith would be great
Kevin's interviews are always outstanding! Would love to meet him. Rock & Roll Kevin!
A female bromance I believe is a "womance," and a Ming-Na specific one would most definitely be a "Ming Fling."

Reminds me of Worf from TNG-raised by humans, so tries to go SUPER HARDCORE KLINGON as an adult.
@@DrFranklynAnderson great analogy!

Omg, that was EXCELLENT. Thank you, both of you!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE MOOSE JAWS WITH KATEE!! I never knew I wanted something so bad until right now.
I like what he said about line readings. If I was an actor I'd appreciate em.

I agree, I was able to reorganize my room while listening to this podcast.
Love Kevin... such a flow between you
Watching this on May the 4th. Going to see Episode 1 after work. I love going to the movies. Even have the Regal pass.
Thanks Katee and Kevin! Loved it.

A thoroughly enjoyed this. A treat.
Great episode, thank you Katee!
Love how you still did audio only while at Kevin Smith's place with all his video podcast equipment.

Super episode! Big fan of you both! 🤩
We need a Kevin Smith Mandalorien. If John can do it Kevin can for sure.
Kevin Smith (in a Somali pirate voice):
'Look at me... Look at me... I'M THE INTERVIEWER NOW' 😂
jedi mind trick? 🙄
Also, Katee *definitely* needs to be in Moosejaws!
What a brilliant conversation/cross-interview.
I hope to see your success as body language adds more than meets the eye!
Great Interview Katee, will you book Marc Bernadin too?
He’s a fantastic writer and creator.
Thanks in advance
