I pu chased mine early this Spring. 40v non self propelled. It is very lightweight. My wife asked to try it out a few weeks ago. She hated using our former Honda gas propelled mower. She loves the easy maneuverability of this one. Battery charge is more than sufficient for our 1/3 acre yard. I am bagging this year as we just bought the home last fall and there’s a great deal of Thanh build up. Bags well. It powers up automatically to go easily through thicker areas when necessary without my having to do a thing! I also purchased the 14” chainsaw (amazing as well) to have the option of interchangeable batteries. Haven’t needed it for mowing but have used it when chainsaw it. I am contemplating getting the 49v snowblower but reviews aren’t as positive. Your video was very informative and well done. Thanks for doing it.
You started mowing your lawn doing the spiral method, then mixed it up with the zig zag. That's a forbidden technique thats cool to see that you performed it. Also from one dad to another, your swiftness with that mower really brought out the muscles in your calves very impressive.
Mine, 5 years old, stopped working. Just died slowly. Tried recharging and fixing the contacts, nothing. So I took off the top and the motor area was full of little scraps of plastic bags. I don't recall running over that much stuff but I guess after five plus years it adds up. Cleaned it out with air, works like new!!
Good video. I have the self propelled 40V mower, the trimmer, the pole saw, the chain saw, hedge trimmer and the blower. All are great lawn tools and have had zero trouble with any of them
The E-power tool market has blossomed and become very competitive. I have just added on the mower for touching up those areas that my rider can’t reach. It’s a perfect fit for my other Kobalt 40v tools, the edger, trimmer, pole saw and blower. Kobalt delivers and makes a decent, reasonably-priced product that always works as Kobalt promises it will. You can count on Kobalt. Great review, and thanks.
I am fortunate enough to have this 40V mower and I picked up a Greenworks 80V mower for $150.00!! used of course... I must say that the 80V mower is much stronger and last just a little longer, however; the Kobalt 40V is by far the best looking cut grass i have ever seen in my life!! (I'm 41 yrs old!)
The sound that the mower makes seems to increase the motor speed whenever you were cutting the taller or longer grass. I wonder if pulling the mower will produce the same overall look of the lawn as compared to only pushing the mower. I used a Lawnboy 2cycle mower while I had a lawn mowing service in 1965. I bagged most lawns but sometimes I used the side discharge. The side discharge made the lawns look better (IMHO) because the bagged grass added considerable weight to the mower and that added weight caused the mower to cut a little lower. Some of my customers wanted the grass clippings returned to the ground to help fertilize their yards. I always mowed so that the mower would not discharge clippings onto the uncut grass.
Good Idea, we just got 2 weed eaters yesterday, Lowe's had them 60 percent off!!! Under $60 each!!!! Got 2 one for us and maybe our grandpa and if not we still get an extra battery and charger, to buy a battery alone it's $60 so as mine as well get an extra machine with it for less, can't wait to make a video on it
Great video my brother, I'm wondering in the mover you have was not self propelled, and if it wasn't, is it easy to pull. Thank you for your time, and I hope you answer! God bless!
Thank you for watching the video. It is much appreciated :) The mower is not self-propelled. However, it is really easy to maneuver and push. Been had this mower for a couple years and it is still performing like a champ 👍🏾
Just fyi it's best to charge your battery's the night b4 use so they don't lose charge over the week b4 you use them. Don't leave them on the charger either, when fully charged take them off.
*I bought two of these to double-team a 2/3 acre plot with my friend.🚜 **allabout.wiki/KT** We used to use a mowing service, but $240/month was adding up fast. We needed lawn equipment, and rather than spend $1200 on a cheap ridable mower, we spent the same amount with GreenWorks on two of these mowers, four 2AH batteries, two rechargers, a blower and a trimmer. I'm glad I did. These mowers are easy to push, plow through thick grass, can be used at night due to their low noise, are effortless to start, don't stink of gas, and I love always having a charged battery available. I've found that a battery can fully charge before I drain a battery (~45 minutes), so the two of us never have to stop. We get our yard done in about 1.5 hours and hardly break a sweat. We have been mowing weekly and actually enjoy doing it, despite the two of us claiming we hated mowing grass. Seems we only disliked the inconveniences that gas-powered equipment bring. Thank you GreenWorks for making lawn care fun for us.*
I just bought one, it's still in the box. I'm excited to get started. I have the trimmer too, I just have to unbox everything and set it up. I was thinking the same about having multiple batteries and one can be charging while I use the other one. I might buy another battery to have three. Nice video.
Looked like it started to throw grass onto walk 🤔. Next video cut the grass then empty the bag and then run it over the sidewalk Like to see how it lifts grass of the walk. Hope you will do a video in fall to see how it handles leaf's. My Murry is self propelled just to heavy to push with these long handles gas mowers. Any reason you didn't use mulch feature
Wondering how you clean it after you mow? We have one & “someone” never does anything. Just pushes it into the garage. Grass everywhere!!! I’d love to see how people keep theirs clean & any basic maintenance.
I was going to watch yours after this, just bought the weed eater, looking at getting the mower and chain saw, with the mower do you think on a full charge it could mow like a 75ftx75ft yard? Or like maybe 1/2 or 1/4 of acer?
Great review. I have the trimmer ,that accepts attachments , and the tiller attachment. They work great. Now gonna get the mower after I've seen you use it and are happy with it. Did you buy extended warranty?
Nice, how about an update... I'm thinking about buying one, maybe the 80v or this 40v. What are the Pros and Cons? How's the battery life and charging time? ✌️👍🙏♥️
Dont buy kobalt. May I ask? How is the kobalt battery lasting? I have had no luck with the kobalt BATTERIES. The 5 ah costs 149.99 and it lasts 1 to 3 seasons on a small lawn. Minimal use. The BATTERY warrenty is 3 years. Kobalt BATTERIES are junk. My Milwaukee, dewalt, makita BATTERIES are still strong after 10 years.
Hey man I bought one of these and I got the battery and charger new and it charged and it won't turn on. I have a lifetime of coding so I'm a fast learner. How does the diagnostic process go with these?
I bought the same lawn mower and it cannot hold its charge or cut the grass more than 15 minutes. Worse if this any kind of dew on the grass it simply dies and refuses to restart. I would avoid purchasing this lawn mower if I were you.
There is a self propelled version available. This is not an extremely heavy machine maybe an overkill to get one that's self propelled. Additionally, one less thing draining battery power.

I just purchased this lawn mower, along with the hedge trimmer, chain saw and weed eater/edger. Lowe's love's me now! LOL.
I'm very impressed with this mower

I’m sold. Thanks brother. Heading out to Lowe’s today to get one.

Great video boss, after using one of these there is no going back to a gas mower

Great review, and thanks.
Got mine today. Cuts like a Cadillac.
Much better than the Craftsman v20 I returned
thanks to your great video, I had the nerve to go electric with the Kobalt 40v.
I purchased mine in 2017 and love it. My yard is similar is size and it cuts extremely well. Nice Vid!

Simple and to the point... Good job! Thanks! :-)
I plan on buying one tomorrow. Thanks for the demo!
Looks good thank you for the review I got the weed eater works great.
Lasts about 45mins to an hour I us a zip tie on it to run it wide open and work easier.

Thanks! We're going to purchase one of these very soon. 👍🏼

Get an air compressor and blow it off outside.
Awesome. I did a review on this mower as well

Great review, nice job - thank you!
Seeing all these reviews for kobalt im thinking switching from ryobi to it.
great review just got mine is self propelled will be interesting see how long the battery will last,,,,,,in the box still.been raining 2 days..lol
Good job! Thanks for the update.

Thank you for watching the video. I did not buy the extended warranty. The mower is still going strong.
Man's first thought is kill it! very Say. God's first thought, Love
What is purpose of bottom lever? Would I be usuing itwhen mowing grass?
Why does Kobalt no longer make the 80 volt mower? They have been replaced by the 40 volt mower in our local Lowes.
just fyi the battery for the trimmer is a different amp, the trimmer is 2.5 and the lawn mower is 5.0. it says it on the battery
thanks man....i'm going to order one right now
Is there othr video you have of this lawnmower? I need a link. Thank you.
Great video!!! I’m excited to use mine
Mowed with it yesterday i love it
Excellent
Thanks for the video. How long does the charge last for this kobalt? I’m debating between this one, a Ryobi or greenworks.
Gotta empty out that bag my guy. Less grass to blow back onto the yard

I got a used one and the battery only lasts 7 minutes but I'm worried about spending 150 on a replacement
That sounds like a helicopter. 😳
Hey man I bought one of these and I got the battery and charger new and it charged and it won't turn on. I have a lifetime of coding so I'm a fast learner. How does the diagnostic process go with these?
well done. Great review.
Thank you for this video!
I just bought one it starts but the blade don't run
Thanks for sharing..
Hi could you please tell me model no. Is it 20 inch?
Hands up!
I bought the same lawn mower and it cannot hold its charge or cut the grass more than 15 minutes. Worse if this any kind of dew on the grass it simply dies and refuses to restart. I would avoid purchasing this lawn mower if I were you.
What am I doing wrong
Kobalt 40 V Lawn mower not good battery gone so quick even full charge
return it and get the ego self propelled, the battery is a beast with it. the kobalt is just a greenworks mower
is it self propelled?
No it's not. Thank for watching the video 😀
There is a self propelled version available. This is not an extremely heavy machine maybe an overkill to get one that's self propelled. Additionally, one less thing draining battery power.
Yes, if you keep holding the lever the blade will keep spinning. Let go and it will turn off.
