    Collect what you like, not what will be valuable.
    I think it should be obvious but seriously you dont have to do anything except collect to be a collector. the resell value simply doesn't matter if you just like it.
    None of my hotwheels are anything above the mainline ones, but i love every single one of them just because it gives me joy collecting them. Imo the better collector cars don't even look that good, so make sure to never forget to enjoy the collecting first and foremost^^

    Collected hot wheels from 99-03 just collecting mainlines and TH and left the hobby. Started again 2 years ago and it was a different world I got turned on to. Meeting the right collectors that I call friends now, I am into the RLC and convention pieces. Hot wheels has gotten so big that within the 2 years I have so many cars that go for pretty good money. Alot of which I get out at stores or when the RLC drops a new car. I'm not a reseller so for me I love the collecting aspect of it. Enjoy your cars and have respect for the hobby. It's awesome.

    • @lwjl8893
      @lwjl8893 2 года назад +1

      Hotwheels has changed a lot since then. Nowadays there is more resellers than collectors. Which is a good thing since it is driving up the prices and also making the hobby more desirable as it is harder to find cars at the store and the bots that compete online. The scarcity has definitely attributed to the prices.

    I recently heard that American retail outlet Kroegrer have produced exclusive Hotheels cars that are even rarer than Super treasure hunts. These cars in question are standard mainlines but what makes them so sought after and collectable are the backing cards they are on themselves which are in black and white with the idea that you colour them in yourself. These are ones you definitely want to keep in their packaging if you are fortunate enough to obtain them.

And thats what i did . I wonder where they ended up. It tore my heart out when they were stole from me. Also stolen were my vinyl albums . just over 9000 albums. That hurt more than the Hot Wheels. Years later i did start over , but will never recover from the past. I am at around 1500 now with rare cars found at different locations around the country. Will be selling them in the next year or two. A total package deal to the right person.

    Another tip on value of cars: don't trust eBay for values all the time. Some listings aren't what they seem and are just there to hype things up and makes things worse. Sometimes, if you check sold listings on eBay, you can get a rough estimate on what your car is worth

    It's almost weird to me that a "hot wheel" can be labeled as limited when there are 10,000+ of them, when Johnny Lightning, Greenlight, AutoWorld, etc... have chase vehicles where there are less than 100. Ah well, supply and demand.

      All the other mentioned, STH maybe isn't rare but more so called Hard to Find. Whole my life I only found one. With the limited editions of other brands you at least know where to get them. We just need to learn that Rare and Hard to Find might not always be the same.

      What I meant is the other brands aren't available on a big scale outside of USA in general, the only people I know that got these, got them imported. But looking at cars that are actually sold here, STH is still pretty rare if you talk about locally, not worldwide. Well, I even had to import the HW mainline RS 2 Avant, cause I couldn't find it here anywhere

      you can pick up the bigger tomicas cheap if they have been thru a supercharger very much- the superchargers scratch them up and it devalues them. the greyhound buses come to mind when i think of that, but all the tomica trucks are like that. YOU GUYS THAT USE SUPERCHARGERS BE SURE TO REPLACE THE FOAM ON THE WHEELS BEFORE THEY DAMAGE YOUR CARS.

    as a former employee of toys r us i can tell you the key. you have to spend some money. if you want a fresh box to come out of the back on to the shelf you have to make room on said shelf for the new cars to go on. they won't let you just open up the boxes to pick out what you want and bounce. drop like 20 or 30 bucks to clear some room then ask them to bring out a box. now you have the first go at a new box with a chance at some good cars.

It was rather hard to find individually sold HotWheels. So I wonder, do the Treasure or Super TH series only come into the individual packed ones? I went through many that came per 5 cars sets or higher and coudnt fint anything special in between. So therefore the question, is TH or STH cars reserved for individual packaged HotWheels? Thank You.
