The Lakers should pursue Precious Achiuwa instead. The Lakers need defensive depth and more rebounding. Achiuwa fits those qualities. Enough of these "offense only" type of players. They need to address their defensive depth since they have a number of capable scorers on the team (Bron, AD, AR, Rui, and D'Lo).

Even without Trent we’d have Max & Vincent in the backcourt. Pair either or with DLo & AR should work.
Ideally DLo & Max start with Vincent & AR off the bench.

Cam is fine when he’s healthy, but he simply rarely ever is. That and his poor 3pt shooting combined make him a risk

Was he even good at defense, maybe average. I just remember br had 1 really good month and then fell off. In that month, he was impressive in suns game shutdown KD and somehow had decent 3. Outside that 1 month, I remember he was just all around
I think we should keep Reddish in the hopes JJ can get the best out of him. If we can add Jerami Grant, GTJ and Dinwiddie whilst keeping reddish, we look very good.

If you think the Wolves “stopped Jokic” you better go back and watch that series. The Wolves winning was all about their perimeter defense and ability to both close out on 3pt shooters, along with denying DEN open shots and kick-out opportunities.
@@JSM24No they definitely bothered him way more than other teams which is why the Wolves won the series. Ham didn’t use the versatile big we had in Wood when he got healthy and that would have helped greatly. We got beat multiple times on drop off passes to the dunker And Wood would have disrupted that more. I would go back and watch that series again..
Gary Trent would bring Defense and scoring, I think the closing lineup should be DLo, Max C., Vando, Lebron AD

You trade DLO and Hayes to Orlando for Carter. That addresses the backup center, frees a slot, and opens the taxpayer exception. After a backup center the Lakers need a point of the attack defender. Those are the primary needs but a true SF would be a nice pickup. Lakers shouldn't sign a SG at this point like Trent Jr.
I don’t like we always try to pick up small guards like Patrick Beverly, Kendrick Nunn and Gabe Vincent.

Cam might improve with a real coach, he is a 6'7 shooting guard who is athletting good on defense and jj might unlock his offensive bag being him more of a cutter and attacking the basket

Vincent + Lewis - out, Trent Jr and Dinwiddie - in. Reddish is young, big, very good in defence and still shows some promise. I'd keep him as a backup for Christie and Vando.

I think otherwise, adding Gary Trent + 3pt versatility and a solid big with huge wingspan is all we need in my opinion :))
just think back on the season how many three-point shots missed when boys were kicking it out, or on the defensive side when Davis had to guard true centers .......

Rui and Reeves should be considered as 2 players the Lakers shouldn't trade under damn near any circumstance. Rui's potential is off the charts in my opinion. He's one of the best cutters in the league. Can finish at the rim. Has worked on his game to where he can go one on one and get you a bucket or hit the 3. And like Reeves, he's super reliable and always seems to be available. I think Rui has a higher cieling than Reeves but he needs to be given consistent minutes so he can reach his potential. The one thing that blows my mind is why haven't we brought Dwight back on a minimum 1 year deal to play back up minutes for AD? He's been wanting to come back and would probably play for free at this point. I don't get it.

Lakers would have to throw in a pick to trade those two guys right now. I'd rather they make a trade during the season when teams start tanking for the '25 loaded draft. Probably going to be more options when certain teams know they're out of the playoffs and would love to take on expiring contracts.
You keep mentioning we still have the mid level. We don't. LeBron signed for almost Max which, killed our mid level hopes. He gave us a small discount that only allowed us to stay under the Apron.

They need a big (or 2) to free up AD who’s always been outspoken about not wanting to play the 5. Sign B-Lopez and/or bring back Javale or T-Bryant. Get back to the winning formula from 2020. We have WAY too many guards & wings.

Well if the Lakers are getting WENDALL Carter Jr or another shooting bug that can be solid defensively then I’m okay with losing Wood
1. Do not trade C-Wood or Reddish!!!! they need more minutes and time to develop. Wood is literally regarded as a versatile balanced 2-way PF/C despite his size, height and frame. He's also credited as a floor spacing big that can defend bigger players at those 2 positions, and can become a Allstar-level player if given more minutes in the rotation, and even gets the start next to AD, which he was initially supposed to be. Reddish on the other hand, despite being plagued by injuries, was a very athletic, high energy perimeter defender that was basically a big guard, and had some pretty smart plays in a few games this season against contending teams. His 3pt scoring may have been subpar, but he can still score at a fairly big clip. they should be given another opportunity to showcase their skills.
2. Trading D'Lo for GTJ doesn't sound that bad, but it's a couple pros and cons. Gary is an exceptionally better defender and fairly better shot creator, but likes to get "trigger happy", which isn't exactly a great trait. D'Lo is a significantly better scorer and shooter, more of a 3-level threat compared to Trent, as well as a fairly better playmaker. However, he's a very streaky defender, and often plays little to no defense whatsoever, and has proven to be a very inconsistent performer in the regular season and postseason, especially against tougher, high ranked teams. Bottom line, GTJ seems like a low risk, high reward signing to move from D'lo.
3. Dinwiddie and Vincent? I'm not sure if I'd either trade one away, or both.

0:58 The problem with the NBA is the players salaries and value is not correlated with their performance. Alot of the players are not worth what these GMs want for them and future assets. When you have an entire organization pushing a B.S. 3 point shooting narrative it has messed the NBA up. Based on Adam Silvers NBA allen Iverson would be out the league in his prime he shot like 38% for his career. Klay Thompson getting bashed and traded for this.😂 Adam Silver needs to be fired.

The Lakers organization is making this complicated. They just have a bad matchup against the Nuggets and that's what they need to resolve by adding a big man. They don't need to remove Russell even though he's inconsistent during the playoffs since LBJ can be the point guard if needed. Just run it back, since if Celtics won by have some of their 2 - 3 players being consistent while others have their 1 game moment then the Lakers can do it as well.
