This was super helpful! Thank you. My 6 month old sausage puppy barks at everyone and every dog and it’s been super embarrassing. We’re going for a walk now to try some of these commands 😍

@@fenrirdachshundshow918 I have another dachshund she is 8 and is mostly behaved but there was 1 time she started barking too. She usually responds to my commands though. I found it challenging training my puppy and walking her at the same time. My puppy was more attentive to me when he knew I had treats with me in the walk but we need to work on the ‘gentle’ part because he bit me quiet hard when giving the treat lol. Most of the time if we passed another dog or human he would sit for me but if the dog comes up to us I have no hope. He barks, his heckles comes up and he backs up

I can tell that everything I hear you teach is correct because is a lot of the same thing my husband and I did with our children when rearing them. Sweet love and consistent discipline! We noticed a lot of parents couldn’t let their “no” mean “no”! In all of choices as a parent to a child or a dog, we’re creating habits! They are either good or bad but with every choice, a habit is forming? We’re picking up our puppy on Mother’s Day and I am ready! Thank you for so many GREAT videos! I’m learning so much

My dog barks at anyone that comes into the house and won't stop. We can't even talk to our friends as he barks over us. If our guests move around the house he follows them and barks at them. He is 11 years old. What can I do?
He also is very jealous of our new adopted daschund. We can't talk to the new dog or carry him or play with him and my dog barks constantly. He also fights with the new dog sometimes over toys. What can I do. Feeling lost.

Plus 1 sub, great vid. Our crazy but lovely sausage is barking mad. Looking forward to trying this technique out. To be honest we were missing the sit, wait (and then extending the period before reward) bit.

As a trainer myself, I used to say that if a dog was going to end up in a shelter then I too would use physical corrections - positive punishment. However, after studying mammalian behaviour at university, focussing on canines for the last 15 years - I no longer need to even consider physical corrections. Changing a conditioned emotional response whether learned or not, will not be solved with prong collars - they are a quick fix that when used, can damage the owner/dog relationship - this goes against everything you say about building up your relationship with your dog. Verbal corrections work so much better but time and effort needs to be put into the relationship you have with your dog. As a behaviourist now I constantly see a lack of patience in owners and every one of them has a reality versus expectation issue.

I am a trainer myself and work with an obsessively barking dachshund for the first time at the moment.
I notice the same lack of patience in owners. They all expect magic to happen, latest in the second session.

ruclips.net/video/XrgdmU1BumM/видео.html try to say a firm no and then make her sit and wait.. and then reward.. But it also depends on why and when the dog barks. In the house because of suspicious noise or outside to other dogs?

Why would you wanna stop your dog from doing something there supposed to do you train them not to bark, when someone’s breaking into your house there not gonna alert you in my experience with weenie dogs they only get barky when they get old and start going Blind and Deaf like my 13 yr old mini who started barking about a year ago

Every single dachshund I’ve met or everyone I’ve met who have a dachshund bark at everything. Please tell me where you get your dachshunds from if that’s the case for you 😩😂 My little guy is 7 months and has started barking at every and anything since 5 months old. It’s definitely a breed thing, they’re very protective. But when a dog barks at just a leaf blowing in the wind, it gets a bit tiring and unnecessary.
My dog barks at everyone except the ones who met him as a puppy

We had 4 dachshunds while I was growing up. When our first passed away we ended up adopting two adults and later got another puppy. They barked so much we couldn’t invite anyone inside. 2/4 of them were also aggressive. However, they were never properly trained or socialized.
I moved into my own apartment recently and got a dachshund puppy of my own. I’ve been working with him since day 1 because I knew how difficult they can be. After he had all of his vaccinations I wanted to socialize him as much as possible with humans and other dogs. From the very beginning, he hated anyone/anything that wasn’t me. He barks at every dog on walks and every person he sees (even if they’re far away). He barks at noises in the midde of the night too. Like when the doorknob squeaks, when he hears a voice from upstairs, and even the ice maker. In this small apartment it’s so obnoxiously loud and it’s only a matter of time before I get a complaint😬
I know he’s smart. He catches on quickly with new tricks and he’s patient with food. He’s potty trained and he doesn’t chew on anything but his toys. He’s such a good boy other than being so vocal.🥲
Ironically, my mom has one of his litter mates and he’s the complete opposite. He’s SO QUIET but he was destructive at first. Obviously that was an easy fix and he’s such a good boy now… but I don’t know what to dooo🤦🏼‍♀️😅
