Great job Brown family, I understand but it’s still funny to hear you say, 305hp is a little under powered when I come from an era where a 150/170hp tractor was a beast🤣keep em comin guys 🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
I guess dollars per acre per bushel is what matters for your combine costs. How much money from every bushel goes to harvest the crop. As for draper belts near enough does not cut the mustard. If a belt cost $1000 and you get it to last a few extra seasons by paying careful attention to alignment, bearings and brackets etc, an hour or two spent from time to time is like earning an extra $100 an hour. I like to work things out in bushels needed to pay for something. Kind of puts things in perspective when fixed costs to plant, spray, fertilize and rent ground uses up most of the bushels. Unnecessary breakdown chew into what's left over very quickly. We had three season of tricky weather. Hoping for more consistent years now that ocean currents have flicked back. That's farming in NZ for you. Loved the video.
Looks like you made good progress on cutting wheat and putting in double-crop beans. Now all you need is a good soaking shower along with the heat and humidity to get them up and growing.
That is a great looking tractor i agree it could use 50 more horse power and if you call Chet at larson farms he can hook you up with a co that can increase that HP and still keep factory warranty
Manufacturers warranty tractors at factory rated power settings. If you increase them either mechanically or through reprogramming the ECU your warranty is void. You may get lucky and they don't notice but if they do you are getting the bill for any repairs.
Definitely flying the agco flag today , I'm a Massey man thru and thru the 8700's is the best Massey so far can't wait to see what the replacement is going to be 9s or 10s ?? Can't beat horsepower and a comfortable cab 👌 👍
Even though at the time of this video you haven't had many hours in it, but if you were in the market for another tractor would a Massey Ferguson be a good option? Kinda sweet seeing the Massey Ferguson out there with the gleaner.
There's another reason you leave it on the field and that is every nutrient but you take off of it is something that you got to add back so that chaf that you leave behind just breaks down back into the ground as nutrients
Been waiting for your opinion of the 8s, personally I'd prefer the 87 series but that just on looks wise but had afew mate's in uk run 8s and had brake issue's and just annoying things that shouldn't go wronh on a production machine. Cheers n beer's from Methven New Zealand guy's. Can't wait to see the new shop in action and ya house looks great 👍🏻🍻🚜👨🏼🔧
You mention the yield...Dad back in the 60's had oats in a low area announced to me that we'd harvested 110 bushel acre oats...things were just right for it..right deep black soil with a lot of peatmoss and if it got rain at the right moments yield was craze...but if not which in most case was the outcome..
Brian I noticed that your planting double crops at like 10 degrees off from the line of the combine does that help get the seeds through the wheat straw.
i think the angle is to prevent ruts forming in the field. the purpose is to get a smooth level field surface, which is easier on the machines, as well as drivers.
🔥nice to Massey working out in the field.. I got Massey lawn tractor, solid unit.. eh bob really enjoy when you have the camera. You are a top notch person and kickass farmer 🔥👊🔥🔨⚙️🏍🚜⚠️
I hope you post some videos about the final stand of soybeans you get with that drill. After planting with a disc drill into stubble for many years I know it can be a challenge, especially if the ground is wet
Don't know what the width of you Horsch is, but Ollyblogs from the UK (check his channel if you haven't done so) uses a Fendt 724 with a 12meter Horsch.
Brian you're only on the 4th of july the rest of us are something for 20 August 2023 but ok some are ahead others behind I can understand you are one of them, you are 6 weeks out
Cab wheat! What were the big green plants your dad ran over in the wheat field? Also, was that deer damage where large sections were laying flat in the middle of nowhere? Loved the drone footage too. 👍🏻
question is, is the row shutoff compatible between horsch and Massey had issues between horsch and a new case and row shutoffs wouldn't work update came out 3 weeks ago horsch was out fixing it
When you plant the beans at a different angle than the wheat do you have to make a new perimeter for the field or do you just have to establish a new A - B line?
Living in the small island (UK) I find it hard to get my head around the vastness of the US. You are cutting wheat and other farmers like Cole are nowhere near that stage!. These double crop beans will crop this year?
The best thing when you got into the tractor? POWER LADDER! Just sayin ;-) And depending on your soil conditions....whether you have livestock.....blah blah blah....it may pay to have the straw baled.... But on our farm....we needed the organic matter....
I am in western Kentucky, home of bigTractorPower and we also no-till soybeans behind our wheat.
Thanks Bob for letting us ride with you. Nice to see your point of view along with Brian and BJ. Keep up with great videos guys.
And leaving straw is good for keeping down weeds and makes good compost

Drone shots are awesome. They show how the fields are laid out. 👏
Always a good day when you get the boss on camera.! Thanks BOB!
Great dronefootage and explanation bright and clear from the bossman makes a great vid again, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
I’m a Case IH guy but I gotta say that is the best looking tractor I’ve seen in a while!
Boy that wheat looks good. Consistent height, thick, bright looking!
Unfortunately, the rain cost you some yield, but c'est la vie, c'est la farm!
The wheat straw makes good organic matter.

I've already seen pictures of the 9S425
That is such a cool pattern going at an angle to the wheat.
Enjoyed your drone footage. Whoever was flying and editing did a great job!
Awesome shots from above, the Massey Ferguson looks bad ass
Even though at the time of this video you haven't had many hours in it, but if you were in the market for another tractor would a Massey Ferguson be a good option? Kinda sweet seeing the Massey Ferguson out there with the gleaner.
Morning! Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
Man those big machines are sweet as hell
There's another reason you leave it on the field and that is every nutrient but you take off of it is something that you got to add back so that chaf that you leave behind just breaks down back into the ground as nutrients
Always enjoy combine time with Mr. BOB
More massy!!! 👍🏼

Some pretty cool drone footage Brian👍👍
possibly vying for #1 position in the 'brian's top vid' contest
Thanks 👍

Seems like good tractor
Them big high dollar planters are nice but after watching several videos I've really come to like that Horsch you run.
Very interesting, thankyou for sharing. That looked a very good wheat crop you were combining.
Great video of gleaner in 100bus wheat good machine.
I think those masseys are good lookin tractors
great bob cam.....he done a lot of explaining
Hello! Always fine to have a first day...
Selling the straw off the field takes the fertilizer with it
good explanation of why you cut the wheat high. thx - i bin wondering. also: WOW drone footage !! massey looks a treat.
Great looking wheat happy fourth of July
Love to see the Gleaner in action with Bob at the helm

It also helps get to the bare ground. If I drove right on the old seed furrow I’d have trouble getting through the roof ball.
awesome video Brian and family
Good show

THANK'S FOR THE BoB CAM ! 😂😁😇
Looking a nice set up with that tractor get rid of that combined try a case no belts on them
Very nice drone footage
Great drone footage. Hope you got some rain to get the double crops out of the ground.
Enjoyed your video. Thank You
That's some good looking wheat there my friend.
nice looking tractor
Great Video, you guys really cover the ground in double crops, thanks for sharing
Thank you for the video!

Nice video my friend ❤💚❤💚❤💚❤
A very creative idea ❤💚❤💚❤💚❤
I look forward to seeing your designs. Congratulations on your journey forward ♥💚♥💚♥💚❤💚❤
Video was really good thanks mate
Good no till drill will put the seed in the dirt where it needs to be.
I put the captions on briefly and yer dad is still funny! 😂
Nice video like the editing like the music like the Drone shots watch your channel constantly nicely done
Look into a major cyclone irish company great machine would chop up heavy straw
Really like that massy
Looks like good yields this year. Still using Midwest Wheat Consultants??? Perfect!
Massey looks sharp in brown town
Great video good to see y'all
3.8K likes that is impressive. Mornin, my friend 😊!
Great video Brian! Was just thinking, could use a BFV to watch, perfect timing.
So are you going to start leasing or buy Massey Ferguson tractors now
Brian and Jr we love you but the Bob Sr. Cam is the Bob Sr. Cam!
Great video, and enjoyed the music.
Now that, is a good lookin unit !
Brian...where do you get the music you use...like when Dad was harvesting wheat starting at 9:50 in video?
Would it be worthwhile to use a mower to mow the completed wheat field before drilling the beans? May help with planting through wheat straw
Brian
you're only on the 4th of july
the rest of us are something for 20 August 2023
but ok some are ahead others behind
I can understand you are one of them, you are 6 weeks out
great vlog brother
I love seeing all the Agco products being used! Very cool!
Cab wheat! What were the big green plants your dad ran over in the wheat field? Also, was that deer damage where large sections were laying flat in the middle of nowhere? Loved the drone footage too. 👍🏻

Good video.
Nice video Brian is your Avitar 7 inch spaced they are 9 in Europe?
Mornin
have you ever considers using one of the stripping headers from shelbourne renalds
7700 bales per average 100 acres + 38k @ 5$ a bale also I know u sold some wheat but its way up to 7.70 a bushel now. Hope u got a good sale on it
Extra compaction tho, better yielding double crop. I bet it’s a wash in the end.
Also not bailing builds more topsoil
What kind of wheat are you growing.
When you plant the beans at a different angle than the wheat do you have to make a new perimeter for the field or do you just have to establish a new A - B line?
As Mike Less would say "That's a good lookin' tractor"
Two thumbs up
Living in the small island (UK) I find it hard to get my head around the vastness of the US. You are cutting wheat and other farmers like Cole are nowhere near that stage!. These double crop beans will crop this year?
Great drone footage!
Thank you! 👍
nice drone videos on this vlog
Hi Brian, were you using factory guidance or did you put your agleader in the 8S? If so, I'm guessing agleader would run your section control?
Great video
in sa they burn it off and start planting next day
Could you plant the beans and then bale the straw? Just curious if that would be an option.
Would be but typically takes a little longer
I love your drone footage, you guys are getting it done 👍
Just proved you are human shit happens. Love your videos your dad fine his 4430
Did you buy the Massey Ferguson 305
Get to run the real Red tractor. I do believe they are good tractors.
Mornin’
Doesn't the straw return nutrients to the soil?
Yes
The best thing when you got into the tractor?
POWER LADDER!
Just sayin ;-)
And depending on your soil conditions....whether you have livestock.....blah blah blah....it may pay to have the straw baled....
But on our farm....we needed the organic matter....
Nice looking rig! Would it ever be able to keep up with the fendt or the challenger? Keep up the good work
I don’t think it has the HP or the weight to keep up with said tractors. It’s a sweet looking unit though!
Baling straw removes a lot of fertility too
