In case you're wondering what that thing on my lower lip was... A few days before recording this, I burned my lip on some hot pizza! Sorry that it looks a little weird in the segments when I'm on camera!
Glad to hear about the good internet, we have 2 cruises on Celebration and 1 on Mardi Gras in 2023. I will need to stay caught up with work. Thanks for the insight Jim, good video.
I’ve cruised on the Vista and Panorama in Havana cabins and loved it.nice to have a pool and jacuzzis that were never crowded. Nice to see the tides pool on the celebration
I'll be in one of these for a b2b in November. I feel better seeing what you paid as I paid much less. Pays to book early. I book Carnival and have had no issues. Got a couple of good offers through my PVP. I did a standard, standard balcony on Mardi gras and was very happy with the cabin. This extended standard balcony is going to be a pleasure. Chaise lounge first thing. Thanks for the info. Go slow on that pizza. 😊
Did you try a lot of the different foods? I know you're not into the sit-down menu based meals, which is a wise move on these newer ships (since that seems to be a really weak area). We thought Big Chicken is excellent (wish it was open for dinner), street eats also phenominal (but only open for 2-3 hours on certain days). And Guy's and Iguana are always reliable of course. The layout of the Pig and Anchor for dinner on MG was kind of awkward. It started with the matre'd who would wander away from her post for 10+ minutes at a time, but eventually she would seat you. Then the crew would plate much of the food from the buffet area in that room--but passengers would occasionally walk up to that buffet and either ask for things, or reach through and take things when the buffet was only supposed to be used by the crew at that time. Then they would plate a really skimpy meal and shut it all down at 9:30pm, even though the buffett still had a bunch of food in all the trays. Just an overall awkward setup. I actually really like just the basic meat and veggies there, but Carnival has made it harder to get a filling meal there than it should be (and MG has been sailing for over a year, should be running smoothly). There was a port day where I had one of those aft hot tubs and pools almost to myself--but on sea days they would definitely fill up. On the first day or two of the cruise, I'm not sure if everyone realized that that aft pool and hot tubs were available for everyone to use.
Hey Jim - great video! Thank you for your content! Wife and I booked 10442 which is just a couple down from this one. Did you happen to ask your room steward if you could get some loungers for that big balcony? We're wondering if we could get a couple for our cruise.
Thank you for your video, it was good one, also it was good that you put prices you paid for the cabin, it gives people a heads up about how much they might have to pay!
Yeah, I think I'm going to start doing that in all of my future cruise ship cabin tour videos. I think it's something people are always curious about... what does a cabin like that cost? And if nothing else, putting it in my cabin tour videos will help me... because years later I'll be able to watch that video again and know exactly what I paid for that cruise... which will help me to see if cruises have gotten cheaper or more expensive in the years since that cabin tour was shot.
Hi Jim I'm going on the Carnival Panarama in under 2 weeks and have already did my check in and it was accepted. My question is when do I get the health questionnaire, is it closer to cruise time or do we no longer need it
@JimZim Thanks Jim, you are my inspiration for going on the Panarama from when you showed the red buttons out on the Havana Cabana deck. I booked a Havana Cabana room on port side. My embarkation is January 21st. I can't wait.
Just to make sure you know... those red buttons aren't there on the Havana sun deck anymore. Did you see the video where I went on Carnival Panorama a second time, and noticed a few changes that they had made after the pandemic?
It doesn't look like there is an upper pullman or a pullout bed like I was told. I booked a balcony which they said sleeps 4, but this room doesn't look like 4 people can sleep in it.
A balcony cabin like this is definitely the right choice for someone who suffers from motion sickness. The worst thing you could do would be to stay in an inside cabin... one with no windows. If you'll be seeing your doctor between now and the time of your cruise, ask your doctor for help in managing your motion sickness. I always see people on cruise ships who are wearing the Scopolamine transdermal motion sickness patch behind their ear. Those are prescription-only, but I'm told that they work very well.

Thanks Jim I was able to secure the above cabinet for my cruise in 2024
That's great! I think you're going to really enjoy your cruise.
Awesome. This is the exact room I will be in on my July cruise coming up. 😀

Carnival has good internet for a change that’s good! The ship looks lovely. Great vid as always Jim happy new year🎉

Great review!
We just got off the Celebration and agree, the bathrooms need to be 4" to 6" wider. It would have made a very big difference!
I’m assuming you went in February can I ask how the weather was
Great video! I’m sold!
Thanks for the information.

I never asked. My guess is that the answer would be no, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

They no longer do the health questionnaire, as far as I know.
Have fun on your cruise... you're going to love it!

@JimZim Yes I saw all of your Carnival Panarama videos. Thanks.

What cabin number did you book?
Tis is standard balcony or aft balcony?
Standard balcony cabin
Is this room good for someone suffering from motion sickness
A balcony cabin like this is definitely the right choice for someone who suffers from motion sickness. The worst thing you could do would be to stay in an inside cabin... one with no windows.

The bedside “tables” are so tiny, not much you could put on them
Frustrating they don’t have more standard outlets. 😮
Not much privacy on that balcony.
