Being transported in the mind to an invisible mysterious space, where time and place don't seem to exist, can happen.
And it happened here...of which this sound and image recording offers only a glimpse. A poignant glimpse.
Perdu avez vostre bon pere. I lost my father on Saturday. Even more reason to be thankful for this stunning rendition of the Deploration.
I am so sorry. I know how it hurts.
This brings back memories of singing this in a 16-voice ensemble at college when I was 19, 54 years ago ago🦊
♥️
This is what musicians look like when not wearing concert clothes. In some ways I think the music suits it. Beautiful performance!
Beautiful performance, and a great piece of music by the greatest composer of the time.
Ja!
Gorgeous, glowing performance - the phrasing, and the long arc of the piece itself, is beautifully shaped and feels like a deep breath... Profoundly moving. Thank you, wonderful singers.
One of the best renditions I've ever heard. And I've heard a lot of them. Thank you. Beautiful!
sublime performance!!!!!!
This is the most moving performance I've ever heard of a deeply moving piece. I keep coming back to it over and over. Thank you, and congratulations. I hope it felt as wonderful and it sounds.
Brilliant, putting three voices on the cantus firmus. Gorgeous balance.
sublime
Interprétation géniale d'une musique simplement sublime
Une des meilleures versions ! :)
Ineffably beautiful. Sublime music.
Interpretazione insuperabile e...insuperata....
Excellent!
que buena versión...!!! felicitaciones!!!
A most beautiful sound.
beautiful Counter-Tenor voice.
Thank you guys for this wonderfull performence
Superb, very good alto.
So so beautiful.
Thank you for that. A good evocation of a man tearing his heart out with grief!
Wooow
Always gives me goose bumps
Speechless.
wonderful rendition indeed !!
no fake - no blue screen. in comparison to the brumel, this is really one file, recorded with a Zoom Q3HD, video and sound-recording device!
Incrível ! Sublime !
anything with Barnabas is a fave of mine, too!
Really fabulous!
Stunning!
Normally I don't like church recordings so much, because they tend to mike them from too far away, but this was perfectly done, far enough to get some of the ambience, but close enough to avoid a washed-out sound.
And the singing is, as I said, absolutely stunning. Thanks
great. deep truth, for those who hear the call. Thank you.
This is so awesome..
What an inspirational interpretation!
AWESOME!!
This is how this piece is supposed to sound.
Yes!
So beautifully comforting....I saved it to my SLEEP Muzak folder that I play as I go to sleep. Thank you for your voices, talent and sharing the Love of the Human Voice.
Wonderful
beautifully done, thanks for posting.
Weergaloos mooi; heerlijke stemharmonie. Absoluut prachtige vertolking!
Nice.... and no vibrato marring the tone.
Eu amei! Belíssimo trabalho... Parabéns!!!!!!!
Superb! their voices, intensity and simplicity bypass the most famous version by the Hilliard -- in spite the latter is also wonderful!
Barnabas Hegyi makes a much better sound than David James.
molealto
Thank You!
@@barnabashegyi4686 :D Always great to hear genuinely good countertenors. I do a small amount of it on an amateur/semi-pro basis so think I can spot a good one when I hear him - and you, sir, are great.
Zeer mooie weergave.
Very nice Pieter!
Incantevole.
High medieval is more complex than all popular music today where did it all go so wrong
Really, this is high renaissance. Aside from that, I agree with your sentiments, thought I do like The Band! ;-)
"High medieval"? What are you talking about? Josquin de Prez was a contemporary of Martin Luther! High Renaissance!
There is no Kool in this. The need for kool is the killer as it will not allow for quality or feeling. It is a cheap mistress which only wants for its self.
wow great great and great
Absolutely wondeful !
Pleeease:) xxoxo
su-per-be ! Bravo
Jesu Christe is this good! Also, I propose that the tall dude lilting expressively up top is the Manute Bol of early music.
Can you please do O moors inevitabilis
Surprisingly great dynamic sound from this camera, but why not post the 1080p?
Amando!!!!
you might also be interested in the brumel lamentation, that we recorded only a day later for the same cd-box.

enjoy
the link does not work

@@GoeyvaertsStringTrio Merci infiniment.
can someone tell me where i can buy a cd of this performance?
Actually, it's on a CD that's due for release this very month (March 2020):
outhere-music.com/en/albums/a-renaissance-collection-ric155
Nymphs of the wood, goddesses of the springs,
Skilled singers of all nations, (A)
Change your voices, clear and lofty, (B)
Into sharp cries and lamentations, (C)
For Atropos*, terrible satrap, (D)
Has inescapably ensnared your Ockeghem, (E)
Music’s true treasure and master, (F)
Who henceforth no longer escapes death, (G)
Of whom it is a great sorrow that the earth must cover him. (H)
Put on the clothes of mourning, (J)
Josquin, Brumel, Pierchon, Compere,
And weep great tears from your eyes,
For you have lost your good father.
May he rest in peace. (K)
Amen
Tylko taki komentarz....
Would be better if they had an actual soprano and not countertenor.
I don’t think so 😉
@@barnabashegyi4686 Ha! Bravo, Barnabas!
Not even a boy treble, which is far better than a sop. in my opinion. Like the Tallis Lamentations, needs to be men's ATB, and no opera singers... Please no opera singers.
fake...blue screen
