Thanks for checking-in. Some have suggested lack of USB-C is due to cost. Care to comment?

@@RunCamFPV Lol so it must be the cost. The new RunCam Thumb Pro 4K V2 is still using micro usb.

You mean like putting it on a plane? That's illegal.
It is not illegal to put a camera on a plane--full size, RC, or. otherwise. Is there a reference here I'm not picking up?
@RunCam, how difficult it is to give video out on this camera so I can also use this for FPV? Any plans to upgrade RunCam 2 & 4k with IMU? Also add ND filters on all your cameras to kill jello!
Would it be possible to connect this to a spare channel on a receiver and switch it on from the controller?
This is the v1 model. They came out with a v2 with a new wide angle lens
This was a black friday special. v2 isn't exactly widely available right now.
Yeah, but what about V3?
The thing I don't care for is that it saves the video files in short versions so if you have a long flight you have to stitch together all the small files post flight to process them
The configuration shows an option to turn loop recording off. I haven't tested it, but I did upgrade to 1.2.8.
I bought the Hawkeye thumb 4k instead of this because it has USB type C, variable input voltage, and is $20 cheaper. Absolutely a no brainer.
Good review! I am not really a fan of the stabilizer cropping the videos. I'll.keel.that in mind.

Can we just make something that when I crash into concrete it survives 100% of the time.
as it stands anything cam wise survives about 1% of the time...which is like 1 night. DEPRESSING
That's a pretty tough requirement.
@@RCVideoReviews 💯% crash resistant...heck I don't even care if it has some hard-core whatever to protect it that weighs 100 grams more.
The day USB Type-C socket parts get as cheap (or cheaper) than Micro USB's, is the day we'll see it happen. They are rediculously expensive for a seemingly small/simple part :-) That's coming from a person who build mass IOT solutions for customers.

Why don't they make a camera long and narrow with the camera in the front to make it more aerodynamic?

RunCam are crap! I had 2 units, inwhich RunCam made me pay cost for the replacement, both died within a week of having them... RunCam just blame it on crashed even though the unit was fine. AVOID
