no, a button needs to be pushed in some way, shape or form (switch)

Yes in Runcam cam app, you can set it to auto record when it get power from any source, usb or the plug.

I don't believe there's an option to get an indicator in the goggle showing the camera is armed but it it might not be I impossible...Mayne there's an option in modes that can trigger that or something but I'm not the person to ask haha
