I think it's pretty cool. I'm usually listening to loud music when driving alone but could see myself using it occasionally when trying to relax or the kids are in the backseat.
I don't hate it. I'm just confused for why it's there. Makes sense in a level 4 autonomous car where you can relax but not here. I think it's just to show off the Bose tech.
Beautiful family there Mr. Muzio! Hyundai makes a pretty good car. From personal experience I can say they are excellent transportation with most of the features one could want. Like this fun 'not-so-serious' review format!
I always love how you bring your family into the review, and especially your wife, because a non-car persons perspective (no offense Evie) really helps!
100% This is really tailored as a practical review for everyday use. Quite different from the power and torque reviews that most people don't know not need except enthusiastic drivers.
Micah please tell Evie how much I love her affable quirkinesses in these videos. I mean you’re the pro and sometimes I can tell Evie doesn’t know how to respond but it just so cute. Like she has a slight awkwardness being in front of the camera. It’s adorable. Winning family. Great review.
That's a keen observation. Evie's natural state is as an editor. Being in front of the camera is a new challenge. But I think she's got settling into co-hosting really well. And I love having her perspective during our reviews. So, on her behalf, thanks for the words of encouragement!!
More iguana! I love that little guy, always gives me some good laughs! High five is a solid choice, I've noticed when I try and give high fives I get 1 of 2 reactions. Either a "No, we don't do that" or a "HOLY SHI LETS DO IT" followed by 3 attempts to get it right lmao
Also side note, if Evie and I were ever in the same room. The iguana would need a massive raise. A good 85.74% of what I say is either an innuendo or a really terrible sex pun. Which is great for laughs, and views, not so great when I am unaware of who is listening to the conversation lol
I'm sorry, but you Muzios are cute AF. Besides being funny this is probably the most informative review I've seen of this car. You covered just about every aspect a buyer would be interested in. I really like the new Sonata. Great looking car imo. I think I'd rather have the 2.5 naturally aspirated engine though. Probably the SEL trim is the best buy.
Just perfect. You and Evie have found your grove. Great video! (Wishlist: sync YT commercial breaks to the video edit, rather than mid-sentence or word).
First, thanks for the kind words!! Secondly, we're still sorting out our workflow but I really appreciate the comment about our commercial breaks. I'll work on timing those better. 👍
I absolutely love it, that Sonata is just fantastic. No better car made, developed or invented. My G Wagon - up for sale, making room. I was only 6 seconds in before posting. You guys are the best though,,no kidding on that.
These family drive reviews just keep getting better and better. An absolute joy to watch, and I love the topics you cover. It's like, real life man! Keep it up.
The sound feature is not needed but I did not expect a Sonata to be so awesome. This car is amazing in all ways. I'm really liking it! Thanks for the detailed review!
Another amazing review, Muzios! The Sonata is amazing and the other guys should be worried about this one. Was it me or did you have a slight audio issue (noticed some echoing in the second half-ish of the video).
It's true. We're sorting out some technical issues and sound is prime among them. Thanks for bearing with us. The good news is that future videos should be much better.
I’ve been following Micah since his review of the Ford Focus where he demonstrated the (then) new sync system. I’ve been a fan ever since! Honest, relatable, and feel-good content. Cheers!!!
"Now I know how to dispose of the body!" Sometimes I forget why such a sweet woman like Evie is with a sarcastic jerk (I kid) like Micah, then she comes out of left field with a remark like this and it all makes sense again!
This review was so freaking awesome!! Everyone’s personality works so well together and your family is so cute. I love how your wife looks at you and her face just lights up. Keep it up!
Many reviewers are not mentioning that the wireless charger has a fan on it to cool your phone while it's charging. I haven't seen that in any other vehicles, and I think it's a cool feature.
From what I have heard from a reviewer in Korea, the Solar Hybrid Sonata is a great car in all aspects. The MPG might be better than the heralded Prius and it is quick. I am waiting for reviews of that model, and later for the Grandeur similarly equipped. It should arrive in the states in 2021. Lastly I love the review with your family. Great work....
Wow, awesome video and y’all are such a great family. When you sped up the remote reverse, you scared the heck out of me, but once I realized what you did, I died laughing.😸😻😸
I love your T-shirts!!! Especially that McLaren Formula One MP4/4 T-Shirt. Where do you get your T-shirts from? Happy New year from Canada!!!!!! Eh...Love the Trans Am T-shirt too. Love the helicopter video’s with the guys from Straight Pipes!!
I actually avoid titanium/gunmetal grays. They are so close to the color of asphalt that they are easy to miss in bad weather or gray days. They sort of blend in with the road - especially if they're a little dirty.
I agree that it’s the midsize sedan I’d pick too. It would be great to get the Genesis engines as future options. Hyundai really hit a home-run with the design on this one. Toyota Camry on the other hand went all in with plastic and odd angles. Great review!
Hey Micah, just wanted to let you know that the song you used in this video, which I believe is titled "Japan" (right?) Is your magnum opus, that is all.
As usual, an informative and entertaining review, folks. Here's your high five. A few comments... () Hyundai designs typically strike me as "overstyled." Too many creases, too many angles, and an altogether "fussy" appearance. (Lookin' at you, Palisade.) It's as if the deigns go through several steps. When it's finished there's always some further design review that gussies it up a little more. There's some of that in the new Sonata but (to my eye) it still works. I have a feeling the lighted "lasso" will get old pretty quickly but at least Hyundai resisted the temptation to cover the roof with led lighting. I"d bet a hundred bucks it was considered, though. () One of Hyundai's most welcome safety features introduced in the Santa Fe last year and continued in the Palisade is the cell phone notification and alarm if a child or pet has been left in the rear seat in a locked car. I haven't seen that mentioned in reviews of the new Sonata. And in a "family review" I think it would be worth a comment. () What possible rationale led Hyundai to include "Sounds of Nature" as a feature??? Are these sound effects for those who have trouble falling asleep in their car? Is the "Open Air Cafe" a soothing feature for the socially isolated? Until now I thought the automatic parallel parking feature of my GTI was the most useless feature of any car. If you can't parallel park a GTI you shouldn't be allowed to drive. At least now I know there's at least one vehicle with a more useless gadget. () On the other hand, the feature that enables the Sonata to be moved fore and aft while standing outside the car is a clever one. Especially useful when trying to use a "compact only" parking space with humungous SUV's parked 3 inches away on either side. Now if Hyundai added powered sledge hammers mounted in the doors that could be used to provide enough room to open them in that situation. () All in all I think the Sonata is a strong contender in the midsize sedan market where the Accord and Camry dominate. Personally, I'm looking forward forthcoming N-Line model later in 2020. But for most folks shopping in this category the current versions should do well.
To me the 'Sounds of Nature' feature was implemented just to showcase the Bose sound system. If you look at the top left corner, there's a Bose logo and a button that seems to disable the Bose audio tuning. The audio files also seem to very short. I genuinely hope it wasn't added for any other reason than this one. No one in their right mind would use this.
@@angelherg1997 Well, that's the best explanation I can imagine. If it's correct I hope Hyundai managed to get Bose to pay for the feature as a rolling ad.
Some great commentary, Stephen! Your note about rear seat alert is particular astute. Rear occupant alert is standard on the Sonata and definitely warranted a mention. We'll do a better job in the future. 👍
I really hate moving carseats from car to car. When my brother was younger we use to have to do it once or twice a month. But you need to do it every week. Im sure you have been able to notice that some cars are easier to install than others.
I love the Muzio's! Imagine Evie's patience and anger management skills living with Micah? She's a goddess!! Hahahaha..just kidding Micah! Great review. Thanks guys!
It is so awesome to watch you on your personal channel and KBB. I love the Micah Drives, I personally prefer the Micah Drives hands down. I'm not sure how I feel about the sounds of nature, it is unique. Micah, I so want to know this dark secret about your hair.
Ricky Logan Jr. We’ve managed to build a friendly, fun audience on both Micah Drives and KBB. So it’s a massive joy to make videos for both channels. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement!!
Did your tester have the blind spot cameras display in the instrumental panel when you put on your turn signal... or the summon feature with the remote? Just something I’ve seen on other reviews.
Really like the family reviews! I was looking forward to getting to see the new Hyundai sonata. I think all your reviews are fun, on KBB and your own but, your family adds real life that is lacking from a lot of car reviews. I'd love to see if a sub-compact like the Honda Fit, is family friendly? How about a Prius?
I love the videos. Just subscribed! . I’m buying a new car this Saturday and I have a choice between The 2020 Mazda 6signature and the 2020 Hyundai Sonata. I watched. BOth of your videos and I just can’t decide!! This will be a car that must last me for the next 20 years ! Please help me!!! Also how is the stereo system in each? Does the sonata come close to the Mazda 6’s Bose?
Great review! You didn't do the Straight Pipes Sun Visor test. Also, did the Sonata have shift paddles? It looked like it did, but maybe that was styling. Just wondering if that would help with those downshifts you said weren't there.
Yeah, I was a little lax with my visor responsibilities. But Yuri and Jakub do a great job where visors are concerned. 😀 As for your paddle shifter question, yes, our test car did have them.
I was going to chide you about ignoring the absence of a shift lever, but you got it in! If you don't need a censor for your four-year-old, I'm not sure why you need one for your audience. Also, I love the princess dress. Now, I personally wouldn't wear it, but it looks great on Elsa! My daughters had theirs, too. When they went from ages 0-10, those were the best years of my life. Continue to savor the moments, Micah! I have a friend who is married to a knockout Bolivian beauty for over thirty years now. Among other things, she speaks three languages. He's very conservative, so just to unsettle him, I said, "Men tend to categorize themselves by what they like in a woman. Some men are 'boob' men, some are 'leg' men, and others are 'butt' men. What kind of women did you go after when you were single?" Without hesitation, he replied, "The smart ones." Your Velma wife is a perfect complement to you, Micah. Ya'll go great together! To borrow a quote from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Micah, "You chose... wisely." Cars? What are those? Ha! I have a 2015 Sonata Limited. Great car! I couldn't have a new one, though. Mine is already too low for these mountains and steep driveway entrances Everything plays Hell with the front approach angle, and my Sonata bottoms out easily carrying five adults over almost any gravel road. And, I need a shift lever. It helps me read the car better. I use the sportshift all the time.
Could you please spend sometime talking about the audio in your reviews. I’m a music guy and I’m sure many others are as well. I won’t buy a car without a high end audio sound system. It’s a gotta have a long with heated steering wheel. Hopefully you can/will include the audio reviews in your reviews.
I like the grill but only in certain colors ... Overall I like the design ... Alil bit of Malibu and Civic going on in the back ... Love the interior tho ...
@@MicahMuzio probably I did not express myself correctly but I have a Volvo xc40 and I hardly have to press the accelerator or at least very effortless , but with the sonata I found myself pressing it a lot to reach the speed that I want to reach .then I decided to wait for the N version Thanks. Great review !
J V Actually, I think you expressed yourself well. That need to press the accelerator more than expected gives the Sonata a slightly lethargic feel. I’ve found that switching to sport mode gives the Sonata a much lively pedal feel. Nonetheless, holding off for the N is a fine choice. 💪
$34k seems high especially since Honda Accord 2.0T has a much more powerful engine for the same money. I wonder what the N Line is going to cost? Will they lower the features to get it down to the same price level or will they be $40k? $40k is discounted BMW 3 Series or Audi A4 money!
I've never driven a Hyundai, but appearance-wise, they always seem unoriginal. Blatant copies. This car could be called a MerHondoyota. It has the silhouette of a Mercedes A or E class; the grill of a Toyota, and the tail light array of a Honda.
So, do you love or hate the Sonata's Sounds of Nature feature?
I'm not too sure about that feature. It's just okay with me.
I think it's just to show off the Bose tech.

the exterior design of this car is underrated for that price range

Without hesitation, he replied, "The smart ones."
Your Velma wife is a perfect complement to you, Micah. Ya'll go great together! To borrow a quote from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Micah, "You chose... wisely."
Cars? What are those? Ha! I have a 2015 Sonata Limited. Great car! I couldn't have a new one, though. Mine is already too low for these mountains and steep driveway entrances Everything plays Hell with the front approach angle, and my Sonata bottoms out easily carrying five adults over almost any gravel road.
And, I need a shift lever. It helps me read the car better. I use the sportshift all the time.
Great review. Can you do a review of Kia seltos please
Contigo Baby!
Wow. You would pick this over the Mazda 6?
Could you please spend sometime talking about the audio in your reviews. I’m a music guy and I’m sure many others are as well. I won’t buy a car without a high end audio sound system. It’s a gotta have a long with heated steering wheel. Hopefully you can/will include the audio reviews in your reviews.
Micah, je serais heureux d'acquérir et d'acheter cette Sonate à l'avenir avec la Palisade, l'Explorateur et y compris la Sierra Denali 2500HD
lovely family😍😍
Great car. Just bought a Limited
jacobyo 99 Congrats! Leave a comment if you discover anything surprising.
@@MicahMuzio Remote Park Assist is an insane feature for a mainstream car!
jacobyo 99 Agreed!
I like the grill but only in certain colors ... Overall I like the design ... Alil bit of Malibu and Civic going on in the back ... Love the interior tho ...
I drived tested and I find that I have to press the accelerator too much and gave a feeling of heaviness in it , did it happens to you ? thanks
J V Yes. “Heaviness” is a great way to describe the throttle feel in normal mode.
@@MicahMuzio probably I did not express myself correctly but I have a Volvo xc40 and I hardly have to press the accelerator or at least very effortless , but with the sonata I found myself pressing it a lot to reach the speed that I want to reach .then I decided to wait for the N version
Thanks.
Im not on the Sonata Band wagon sorry. Nothing bout it grabs my attention. More feature whoopee! But thank you for the Review!
Totally fair. As a wise man once told me, there's a butt for every seat. Nothing wrong with zero gravity Nissan seats.
Pretty princess in the back. Beautiful car too. Nice family u are
Evie should be allowed to drive every car you test. Micah
Just bought one last night - SEL Plus with Tech package. Beautiful car!
dak85016 Congratulations and best of luck!
Nice
Funky car - Interior dash is the only thing I really like about the car.
Can you review the nissan versa 2020
