I like everything about the Gretch Electromatics, except the skinny neck. Still being a rookie with larger hands, it could still be a matter of acquaintance on my part.
Anyone know if that is the Azure Metallic? It looks very sapphire here(beautiful). But the photo on the sweetwater site looks like a light-medium sparkly blue that is a little boring. Its 3.5 years+ later so maybe they changed the color options.
The nut was cut so poorly on mine it was un playable from the factory-10$ later and the luthier cleaned it up and now turning stability is good unless you lay into the bigsby hard.
@@nicholaspicel3838 First time having a strat with floating trem. Tried to dive bomb. Bought new springs. Never doing that again unless it's a floyd rose
@@jepatawaran Yep! Same. Got myself a strat with a floyd rose for that reason. Always wondered how Yngwie Malmsteen could do dive bombs and squeels with his vintage trem and not go out of tune. Then again... ive seen him tune his guitars while playing.😅
bought one a year and half ago, it is absolutely beautiful, both in the sound and design. Unfortunately it suffers from major, and with major I mean MAJOR neck dive problems, almost unplayable from standing position
Can you perhaps announce the notes/tones you played in the comparison? Unfortunately, I could not see the notes/tones from him. By the way, it sounded very good and you helped me a lot
I have a G2655t and was interested to compare it to this guitar. Perhaps, this could be a future video. My ears picked up at broad tron pickups. Broad trons are used across their entry level Streamliner series, they are hotter, don't have the same glassy chime and I don't tend to like them. I have 4 Gretsch guitars and much prefer filter trons. I am not a big fan of my G2655t to be honest. I picked up a second-hand G2622 for £200 with a hard case. This was the purchase of the year and in my opinion much better than its little brother. I would also say that the broad trons fitted in this guitar are the exception to the rule and sound great in the G2622. I would love to hear Gretsch's disonic pickups in a guitar like this or its bigger brother the G5622. To compare this guitar to a Les Paul is a bit like apples and oranges. I am a confirmed Gretsch fan, but when I compare it to my 90s Gibson Blueshawke, the Gibson with blow my G2655t out of the water every time. I love Gretsch guitars, their electronic range is lovely and step up on their streamliner range in terms of fit and finish.
I own one I've owned two Chinese made gretschs only complaints are the tuners feel cheap af other than that plays an sounded like a dream out of the box j immediately put an actual bone nut in and lubed near the nut and bridge inserts other than that leaving it stock
2021 and people can't understand that Chinese made doesn't really mean much anymore. If this guitar was made in the US it would be at least twice as much and more likely closer to 2k. It just makes sense for companies to make their guitars overseas nowadays. People crapped on japanese fenders back in the 80s untill people actually started playing them and realized those were actually turning out better than the half ass fenders being put out in the US at that time.
Hahaha ...everyone likes different things, Personally I don’t like guitars from China, although I’m sure they are just fine. I would rather spend a bit more money and buy a guitar with a higher grade of wood, hardware and electronics. But again if all that stuff doesn’t matter to you than go ahead and buy what you like.
Just bought a amethyst g5655tg it is stunning without a doubt
Same and that thing screams.
I've bought myself one of these in Cadillac Green. It looks stunning!!
Planning on getting that exact one myself.

Here you play this guitar and just admiring the blue makes me want to buy one so bad !
no it doesn't
Got the black one but that royal blue keeps my eyes looking at it
Just bought the Sweet Tea. It’s a thing of beauty.

How well does it stay in tune?
The tuning stability is really good. As long as everything is all stretched in you’ll have no issues

@@GuitarTalkUK may i know which is great for heavy rock or even metal between 5420 and 5655?
Selling a PRS to get one I love it
I though PRS was better than a Gretsch due to be more versatile. If you don’t mind to say what’s you main reason to go with Gretsch instead of a PRS?
What did you end up thinking of this guitar a year later, and how did it stack up to the PRS?
@6:00 ok yeah it needs tuning

I'm edging towards the G5655tg, unless anyone can recommend a better Gretsch for under grand??

got one today, and the bridge píckup is super low volume. is that normal?
Maybe try raising the pickup so it is closer to the strings and see if the volume improves
I’ve noticed this as well.
Great review thanks

Great guitars!
May help to tune it. 😢
Why do people always say that there’s nothin catchy about G5655TG lmao
It's nice to tune your guitar sometimes. Lol
Playing was a bit rubbish
I think it was also the guitar, was slightly out of tune
One minute he says the guitar is stunning and then he cuts it down ,, make up your mind dude
Sounds bad
Lol, check your ears
Great guitar but..”made in China???”
yeah I’m out
Your loss, cos they are fantastic guitars, best value mid-priced of all manufacturers, imo.
