  • I have recently made the switch to 14 pound equipment, I this video, I am using a 14 pound The Road and comparing it to a brand new 2024 pour 14 pound original Hy-Road.
Storm has released another ball in the classic "Road" lineup. The original Hy-Road was released in 2008 with its core dating to balls all the way back to 1997! The Road changes the coverstock to the REX Hybrid Reactive and finished the surface with a Reacta Gloss finish. The other big news is that AI Outer core technology is now in the Road. This makes the ball specs identical across 14, 15, and 16 pound balls compared to the original Hy-Road that specs varied greatly between the weights.

Thinking about this ball. Need something that holds the line without bellying out.

Depends on what you’re bowling on and what you’re using now. Unless you’re somewhat speed dominant, The Road is going to still need a little bit of room. Comparing to something like the Absolute Power, DNA Coil, or Summit Peak, you definitely wouldn’t have to give it as much room.

Still learning how to deliver, definitely much stronger reaction than my hy-road. All my balls are 14#.

It is a very noticeable difference! Best thing you can do to improve your delivery and release is practice and the summer is a great time to do that.
