Quite how Trigger (RIP Roger Lloyd-Pack) keeps an absolutely deadpan straight face is incredible. The self control and professionalism are just wonderful. He was the one person in the whole scene who definitely couldn't be watching Del Boy, yet his face and body language are completely exposed to the audience and camera. His blissful unawareness is superb, as is his momentary mild surprise that Del has reappeared after totally vanishing, and then just accepting the fact that he's back in true Trigger style. Fantastic acting. and all these years later it's still one of the funniest bits of British telly ever. Bravo!!!
Trigger makes this scene, his timing is perfect as he looks round the bar for Del.
"They're foreign?!" I lost it 😂😂😂😂
I don't know how many times ive watched that fall and im still impressed David didn't flinch on the way down.
Exactly - he goes down like a felled tree. he has always been a very gifted physical comedian e.g. Edgar Briggs
Would guess by the time they got the right take he’d done it 1000x

Britbox.
You already paid for it, they want you to pay again..🤔
@@electro1463 If you're an expat in America - it's bloody worth it !
I saw 1 of them old £5 notes the other day 😂
Did you now
Haha yeah.
That's kinda hot mate. Tell me more.
I remember watching the fall clip for the first time it was aired in the 80s with my husband, he laughed so much and hard that the whole street would’ve heard him! I can honestly say I’d never heard him laugh like that before or afterwards.....It was hilarious! 😂😂😂😂
i watched it with my parents, i remember my Dad was sat next to me and as the scene went on out of the corner of my eye i could see my dad moving closer and closer to the edge of his seat, like he could sense something coming up, and as Del went through the bar my Dad fell off the seat, just sat on his hands and knees on the floor, couldnt get up for laughing, made it even funnier.
Were the days
One of the great comedy scenes of all time. Thanks for posting.
This was voted the best comedy moment EVER!
@signoguns David Brent’s dance funny? What’s so funny about that? The Office never had any background laughter unlike Only Fools and Horses. In all honesty I found The Office pretty crap and unfunny.
@signoguns Fair comment. You’re entitled to your opinion. What I can’t understand with The Office was the lack of a background audience. It made it dull in my opinion. Not as laugh out loud funny.
@@nigelkthomas9501 So let me get this straight, The Office isn't as good because it doesn't have a laugh track?
@@nigelkthomas9501 who the fuck needs to be promted when to laugh
Because it is. Del Boy's fall - the way he did it without moving a muscle to protect himself, like he is a piece of statue, the unexpectedness because the focus was partially on the girls, and Trigger's reaction. This and the chandelier scene. Unmatched
Still holding his drink when he gets up 🤣
This show and that clip will never get old
I honestly don't know which was funnier, Del falling or Trig trying to see where he'd went! 🤣
Or Triggers startled reaction when he turns and sees Del has reappeared....Ha Ha
Trigger is pure genius💯
Trigger's reaction made it even funnier! This is my favourite episode purely because of the fall through the bar
all these years later, and it still brings tears to my eyes 😂😂😂
I remember this 1st time around. I was in pain I laughed so much. Brilliant.
Classic - perfect timing and perfect expression by Trigg
"Well you'd better hurry up, it'll be closing time soon!"
A put-down by Trigger! Rare indeed!
i don`t know how many times i have watched this and still keep laughing...Priceless Del!!!!!
"they don't speak proper English like what we do"
Brilliant !! Best British comedy ever ! 😂😂
He still cramping me style to this day, mind you I got Raquel these days
Timing between them too is impeccable. Never get enough of this clip.
Actually, when del gets up, there are about two mouthful of wine in the glass. Classic David Jason.
David Jason landed on hard floor, no one put a crash mat or anything for him and he hit the deck hard. Knowing that he was in legitimate pain for this makes it more iconic.
Plus the cockney head pecking he does when he tries to recover is just gold
really? Didnt know that! but he does look dishevelled - proper.
Surely there's no way the production company would have risked severely injuring a major actor. There has to have been some sort of support or the companies that insure the actors wouldn't have covered it.
Where's the supporting evidence?
@@jamesy666 this isn’t a science class, and dont forget, you’re on the internet. Millions upon millions of pieces of information are available to you for free. I suggest you try using google
I saw one them ol five pound notes the other day.... pure class😅😂😅😂
As much as I love David Jason as Del-Boy, the punchline to this scene is absolutely NOTHING without Roger Lloyd-Pack as Trigger. Its just the look of utter bewilderment that really sells the joke. Superb slapstick all round
David Jason was put on earth to play Delboy. There is NO ONE who could play that role so, how can we put it?....cushtie!
"Living in sin with their flexible friends." Excellent line.
I had a few of those, boy how they dragged me down!
@@kentpiano2600 I bet she did!
This was absolutely brilliant
My god thats a funny scene, cant stop laughing, everything about that scene is just pure perfection
Up their with the Two Ronnies Fork Handles scene.
And twenty years later this STILL makes me laugh out loud!!

I love the scene when they start singing Christmas hymns whilst trying to scatter triggers grandads ashes on a bowling Green.
It is spelt FAVOURITE!!!!
And spell favourite proper, it’s a British program, lol
Never not sick of this. My mum and dad ALWAYS talk about it and it makes us all cry with laughter.
Iv yet to find a comedy that's as good and as consistent as this. Sullivan was a genius
Del Boy falls through the bar, and Trigger makes a face.
Laughing with a tear in the eye for the old England.
Absolutely. The good old days when life was simpler and eveyon went down the pub, smoked, got drunk and enjoyed themselves. Remember that?
Pure classic it don't get better than this.
That first take was priceless so they kept it
I love how Del's all-over-the-place when he gets back up, and even right to the end.
I like how Trigger looks around for Del🤣
It's his leg that flicks up that gets me! 😂
David's face doesn't change at all on the way down...amazing!! Not even a slight flinch.
There were some truely great moments in this show, the chandelier scene with Grandad, the hang gliding one before he goes off and this are my 3 favourite.
The Batman and Robin scene with Rodney had me laughing out loud
... steady... steady
The all time best!!!!🥰🏴🏴👍
I’ve seen this so many times but here I am laughing my head off as if it’s the first time .
Yeah nothing will ever be as funny as that
Absolute classic, still very funny today and it still makes me laugh.
Best Scene ever🤣🤣😂😂😂
"No, your cramping my style mate" haha
As "official" as the fall was, and it really was impressive how he did it, my question is, how did he fall and get back up with half a glass of wine still in his hand?
Yeah...like if it was me I would have drunk it 😂😷🍷
Years ago, in my misspent youth, I did fall down a flight of stairs with a vodka and tonic in my hand. I tumbled every which way, but the drink stayed in the glass. Couldn't have done that sober........
Priorities mate!
It's easily done. i went arse over tit on a dance floor and still stood up holding half a pint.
That is a skill we learn as babies on England
'' I saw one of the old five pound notes the other day ''
It doesn't matter how many times I watch this I still fall about laughing . I know what is going to happen but it's the way he does it lol . It's the same with Fawlty Towers when he does the German walk
Still makes me laugh immensely 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great comedy, brilliant actors. Timeless classics 🤣.
The most iconic scene in British tv , they don't make programmes like this anymore
Always a true classic.
“Drink up Trig, drink up we’re leaving!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Trig and his royal blue suit. Real posh!!
I think we're on a winner here Trig play it nice & cool son nice & cool u know what I mean👌😂😂😂 The way Trigger looks all the way around for him is f*£kin CLASS!!!!
still good. After all those years. awesome!!!
This one, together with the chandelier, are the two funniest sketches ever made, imho. 😂😂😂
One of the great comic scenes.
Roger Lloyd Pack was Genius a word too easily banded about today. Imagine how many retakes were needed when the sound and camera crew pissed themselves laughing.
HB DEL BOY U BEAUTY! The Best Skit Ever!!
Priceless!!
Hahaha this is so iconic.
Absolutely fantastic
Classic comedy right there
del fell through the bar in first take, he never flinched either.
2:00... that must be the funniest gag I've ever seen on TV 😆
Drink up Trig, we're leaving!
Ain't you gonna try for them birds?
@@Jtmissile your cramping my style mate your cramping me style
I saw one of them old £5 notes the other day 💴
Tell us abaht it
Beam me up snotty!! 😂😂
Is there anyone left in the world who hasn't seen this clip?
😂😂 love this....
Probably the only scene where Trig doesn't look more stupid than someone else XD
Gets me every time
just brilliant.....
Apparently, this scene was going to be entirely different as Trigger was never originally in it. However, Roger Lloyd Pack was filming a medical series on the set next door and said to John Sullivan that he had some free time from that show, so John rewrote the scene, put Trigger in it and the rest is history.
Del🥰
Loooove them.!!!!!!.
Brilliant comedy still laugh every time that i view it.That and Monty Pythons "Ministry of silly walks " are my two favourites.
Homie saved the hell out of his drink during that fall! 🤣🤣
@scott m And your point is? 🤔
@scott m No argument there, you weirdo.
Homie? It's not Fuckin downtown New York ya mug
He didn't really! There isn't much left in it when he gets back up
The finest comedy pratfall of all time.
David is in a class of his own!
Yeh cramping my style mate yeh cramping ma style.
I think Trigger nearly went, but managed to pull it back... 🤣
I saw one of them old 5 pound notes the other day hahaha
Greatest
Too Good !!!! Ha ha ha ha 😜☺️😜!
seen when he falls by the bar so many times ,,,,,,still funny
Superb
Clever to keep a straight face
The most classic OFAH scene of all time
Its a toss for me, between this one and uncle Albert acting horrified that
Rodney is going out with another girl, both classics .
I agree I think its a draw. I'll have to watch that again. Its the way Rodney says whats a matter with him?? Lol
Or the chandelier
A girl?!?!?!
@@Astria1979 yea watch the episode uncle Albert shocked scene
@@lcplsimonflores Lol, I’ve seen it a billion times.. I was quoting it
😂 Happy days 😅😊😄
The fact that wasn't supposed to happen makes it 10x better
It was supposed to happen.
you can tell they're both dying to laugh...RLP only happened to be around by chance filming something else when they decided to add this scene to the episode by all accounts, so nearly didnt happen...
The barman played Bryn Cartwright in the movie twin town.
I hated it when mainstream tv showed half this clip stating it was the funniest moment in tv comedy history leaving out triggers priceless reaction....this, the full clip is the funniest moment in tv history
Everytime
Along with the chandallear clip.....you dont get much better than OF&H
🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅
I wonder if there was a crash mat down there!
