- A quiet year really, unless you were at Brands Hatch where seemingly all of the serious accidents went on. It was nice to see good grids and racing from all 45 meetings considering the circumstances. From Bangers to Autograss, Bikes to Sidecars, Stock cars to Circuit racing and Rallying, all of the ways to get it truly wrong that we saw in 2021 is in this video.
As always, everybody would walk away without serious injury in this video

You can tell you are a motorsport fan, because you can anticipate an incident before it happens !!!
Cheers. About a decade of standing in the same places teaches you a lot, subtle bumps and little things with the track are very visible from the outside as you can see how the car behaves. The most notable out there would probably be the bump at turn1 at Mallory Park. That throws a lot of cars off

Aye most of the big ones in the first half though. It's been pretty well behaved this season certainly on my end. Kinda prefer that considering what I saw towards the end of 2020...

If you think about it, with crashes from pretty much all motorsport disciplines from across the UK in an entire season, this is pretty much the closest we'll get to those "Best of Havoc" videos we grew up with as kids lol
Throw in a few more Rally crashes and a sarcastic voice over and you've got a golden ticket right there ;)
Funnily enough the bikes and rallying is probably what I'm gonna try to do more of this year, so while it might not be the best, it might be the most varied out there.
I'll expect my lawsuit from Duke in the post😂

Bikes tho...never like watching them for some reason..it's the rag doll effect I guess, at least when a car crashes you know the driver is protected, can never be ok with watching a rider tumble

Great video and great editing! What video editing program do you use? I can never quite figure out how to track a car properly with zoom, etc. in Hitfilm Express. Hopefully we can all visit more motorsport events next year.
I think I'm using Sony Vegas 13. It's old and ugly and not the industry standard but it does the job plus you can find it free in places. the tracking in that can be pretty easy to figure out as it plays it in the editing window as you scroll along, you just have to deal with the loss of quality as its technically digital zoom.
That’s me in the Clio @11:10. The Z4 lunged from two cars back and took me out.

It's funny really cos when looking back I only just realised how much time I spent at Mallory. It was a good 60% of the season at least. Strange having so much to see here in 2021

she had no plan whatsoever. she flopped over and couldnt believe she made it that far. thank goodness the guy was there to hold her back bc she wouldve stood in that spot for ages figuring out what was going on
I was more concerned about her falling over and doing herself in worse than the chap who'd fallen off!
I’m a marshal and if I would have seen that I would make sure she was banned from every track in the area for life

Whatever it was it fetched the whole caliper off on its way out. Couple of feet further to the right and it would have taken the marshall out as well. very lucky

I've been competing and spectating at motor racing events for nigh on 40 years... that wheel coming off the FF2000 at Gerrards @29:55 is right up there among the most frightening. That could have easily killed a spectator had anyone been standing there.
Luckily these days most people stand near me cos they reckon it's the best angle. But I agree very frightening, and it can happen almost anywhere. It's why you must ALWAYS keep your eye on the racing when it's on.
Yes, scary stuff - I once saw a loose wheel hit a crowd of spectators at Old Hall Corner at Oulton Park in the mid 80's
I was in the infield paddock area at the time & it was horrific to see, and has stuck with me all this time

No, not really. These "Wheels," as you put it, are filled with air. We all know air is completely harmless. Have you ever heard of anyone being injured from blow drying their hair with a blow-dryer? I'm not trying to be critical but come on David, how about putting a little thought or consideration into your comments before you just say something ridiculous. @@dbx1233 Exactly well said that man - you should be in charge of safety at all major sporting events especially racing events like these. Drop the fire extinguishers too mate and you will save 1000s of pounds. them Marshalls dont do much either - standing around watching half the day , get rid of em. xxx good night.

The way those fence posts move at 21:30 must surely be one of the reasons stuff at Brands Hatch has been flying through or over barriers all year?
It's not a great look is it. I've heard a lot of bad things from there all year, not just what went on and was reported. It's just all the more sad that after all that went on this season, clubs are flocking there seemingly even more in 2022
@@PescaraProductions Armco at Brands Hatch seems to be a launch pad. The circuit desperately needs some barrier upgrades, but that costs money. Money that was probably spent on needlessly erecting fences on the inside of the GP section for DTM, a series which left the circuit soon after.
Yep. You're absolutely correct here. Those posts launched a Time Attack car early last year, completely destroying it. And then a few months later it launched a car, in almost the same spot as the time attack car, straight into a marshall post, killing a volunteer marshal and causing the driver of the car that hit the marshall post to suffer I broken leg.
What fills with rage further over this, is that it is a VERY well known that the start straight armco launches cars. There was an MR2 in 2011 that was launched off the armco and into an area behind the catch fencing. It almost hit a pair of spectators. Also when BTCC goes to Brands, some of the marshalls on the start straight don't even have bunker to protect them. Just some flimsy armco between them a car potentially doing 150mph.
@@Thee_Snow_Wolf Agreed. Someone counted somewhere that there had been 5/6 over the wall there last year in as many months. They had a warning shot before the time atack crash, then the time attack crash, then a fatality, then another over the wall at Blancpain GT! It beggars belief! And yet stuff is going back there this year like its the safest track in the country! laughable

Luckily most of those autograss ones are plastic bodies or very thin metal mockups lol

Ban that woman from every race track 😂 idiocy at its finest, and also breaking the law as entering a track passed spectator fences unless authorised is classed as trespassing, even if the track isn’t live
Everyone losing it on the oil at Silverstone was a great way to end it.
Shame you can see the terrible editing in it though😂it's almost as if this was rushed MASSIVELY and finished at 4AM
The best drivers participating in UK Motorsports are those in the demolition derby.

Those are Legends cars. Very big in North America too. Designed to look like small 1930's hotrod with bike engines fitted

@@PyroIndigo yeah but you do not ever do that, what if more bikes crashed and she got hit and killed, I’m a marshal and weather she’s trying to be a hero or not, I know the risks I’m taking responding to a crash she doesn’t
@@elijahdobkins8004 very true. I've spent my life racing motocross and being involved in different aspects of the sport. I've seen lots of people react with blind emotion and ive done it myself. Even when not racing and simply volunteering to run the start gate, finish line, announcing or whatever,I've definitely ran out onto the track when I've seen family or friends or complete strangers go down hard. I've seen a few people get hit hard by bikes on the track when they've done the same thing. It's obviously not a smart reaction to try to jump in like that but I understand why it happens. In all forms of racing, I think most of us have witnessed parents jump fences or cross tracks or whatever when they kids are involved. It's not a smart move and everybody knows that but most people aren't about to try to prevent somebody from rushing to family or friends when the situation looks bad. I will say that the incident she jumped the fence for didn't look bad at all and she overreacted period.

Crash at 7:38 is not good; basically steel I beams sticking out of the ground and no barrier, just gonna chew somebody up and kill them eventually. Matter of time.
Well there's a reason pretty much all autograss venues have done away with the post and wire fences. Most are a proper metal barrier these days
