He walked away and last time I spoke to him he was talking about building a new one. He was knocked out as it started rolling. Probably saved him a lot of injury to be honest. I think everyone was impressed at how well it held up as it was one the drivers own builds. They've been working for years to get their own sportscars to be winners

@@phrodendekia If the car is going straight off nose first they tend to just skip right across the top of the gravel. Some part of the car has to dig in for the gravel to do any good and many times that causes the car to flip violently making the crash worse. F1 tracks got rid of gravel traps years ago in favor of tarmac.

Crash at 0:24 is a perfect example of a great barrier to take all the force of impact and leave little damage to the car and he drove right off continuing on!

Its funny you get these comments all the time in hindsight. It's clear they were aware of the incident but not the oil that would've made them lose control even at reduced speed. Were the oil flags out? Doesn't look like it.
Brum Racing Yeah, but us marshals don’t have metal boxes around us; orange probans don’t offer much impact protection :(. The only protection we have is our colleagues, drivers being observant and acting appropriately, and placing a car between us and the other cars. Running away is rarely an option - I dont think even Mr Bolt can out-run a car. Hindsight is not a luxury we can afford. Given the tyre squeals, I dont think lack of traction was the problem. I trust most professional drivers and some club drivers to drive appropriately whether the flags are out or not, but some club drivers are just less aware than others, that’s all. Happy racing for 2020 :)
@@andyowens5494 if you are a marshal I'd hope you'd recognise the thick black line of oil on the track there. I've been a marshal too in my time, so it's not some anti marshal crusade. It's just marshals will always blame the drivers for not obeying the flags, drivers will always blame the marshals for not having the flags out in time, thus the world turns Each situation is different and I think this one is more to do with oil and no oil flag than it is drivers not paying attention as it seems they have reduced their speed in all fairness
Andy Owens Having worked with the Fiesta Championship it does not surprise me! The driving standards are lacking to be nice, I worked 4 rounds of theirs (8 Races) not one was there not a serious collision or a calling to the stewards for driving standards
Where do some of these events take place? Only sport I went to see was the Wales Rally GB when they started in Liverpool and ended on a track back in 2019
I really enjoyed seeing that many BMWs on the track at one time! It's about the only time you'll see that many that are not broken down! I liked even better when they crashed, one less peice of crap on the road.
This happens in every racing game but atleast in GT Sport we play in online but GT 4 AI is exactly like that part. The damn AI but the made it better in 5 and i bit better in 6
Ninja Karts at 3:33 at the now recently closed down Birmingham Wheels Raceway. The dirt cars are British Autograss machines, there's about 14 different classes that compete in Autograss
Anyone else notice the cat that flipped pulling the trailer, when they got it back on it's wheels the engine burst into flames, no one on the track saw and he got back in ready to drive
Surprisingly most were fixable to an extent. The car in the first clip needed a new body. Some of the Autograss cars that roll over are fixed and race later in the day. The car rolling on the right at 11:33 had already rolled the day before!
There is more than a few drivers in these clips that need glasses for their seeing eye dog!! Crash near the front of the field,, and 20 sec later a backmarker drives into the accident. I thing Brit tracks all need gravel between the track and the walls. They go much faster on wet grass!! Those tyre walls need the inside tyre stack chained or attached to the walls, Less tyre spread when hit and less likey for open wheel cars to go under. The conveyer belting makes a huge difference as well. Though ideally also attached to the ground as well. And this is world wide

That track needs some gravel to stop a bit more. Cars just go with no speed reduction right up to the wall. Thats just my guess, maybe im wrong.
