Thr Lumintop Tool for the win. You forgot to mention it comes w TWO types of tail caps; one magnetic cap (w twist on/off by head), and the click on/off tail switch, you can request the non blue lighting tail switch. Also as for how sturdy; i have one thats over 5+ years old and ive dropped it on every type of surface, sat on tt, stepped on it and totally hard used it DAILY (I wear it on a lanyard around my neck even when sleeping, lol) it does look 'well used' but still works flawlessly. For a 14500 flasglight i will ALWAYS go for the Lumimtop Tool. I've given them as gifts and people can't believe how amazing they are. One time, one of them just died after almost a year n Lumintop sent a new full set immediately w a box and return label to send back the defective one i didnt have to send back any accessories. Truly the best of the lot.
the Lumintop lighted tail switch is brilliant. very often i have to find my flashlight in the dark and therefore its my favorite. and it doesn't drain the battery as much as you would expect it to do. It takes a few days to notice a difference.
Great video! I enjoyed it and didn't realize it was almost 45 minutes. The most important criterion for 14500 is pocketability IMHO. Lumintop is the lightest and, therefore, hits everything else out of the park. It is well-built and surprisingly sturdy too. I have been carrying it for 2 years and dropped it several times without any damage. My Acebeams and Olights, both heavier, mostly get left behind. For me, Lumintop would have scored the highest in this comparison.
Had a look at the tailcap on my Tool AA 2.0. There's a silver ring inside with two cutouts which unscrews to access the switch assembly. Looks easy enough to unsolder the two tiny blue leds from the circuit board if you wanted to disable the tail switch light.
For the lumintop the lighted tail switch is for when it's dark and you drop it or put it down you can easily find it in the dark. If you don't like it you can open break the LED's in the tail cap and the light will still work.
More simply you can untwist the end cap slightly and the taillight is no longer an issue until you need it. Much more practical than breaking it off. Not to mention it only illuminates the tail switch with 14500s it doesn't illuminate ever with alkaline aa or nimh aa

If the cat flap gave you an opportunity to strike or get away, then it is worth it. That is all a light is going to do. it is not a solution but an opportunity to make a move. Gotta be used correctly
So tired of these over complicated UI's. A light should have two modes - on and off. When you push the button (and the light is off) it should turn on. When you push it again (and the light is on) it should turn off. Other features are great, but not if they sacrifice this core function of how a light should work.
3 modes is considered "over complicated" well then please never get into a car eithe cause the sheer act of changing the car from park to drive or reverse must be a titantic amount of brain power to understand....cause if click on or half press to cycle modes is "too complicated" then im more shocked you even know how to use a pc or smart phone cause those by your standard would be considered "over complicated" also.
This is how a lot of fenix lights operate. This is why I like my fenix pd35 v.3. Small, long lasting and most of all… reliable single tail click on, momentary or off. In order to change the modes, you have to access the side switch. I keep mine on turbo and have my fenix e01 v2 for my general lighting needs as a necklace light. But I do want to try out acebeam pockelit
@@Horde334I think he means in a tactical, life and death situation. Which changes everything. Where Seconds count depending on the situation. Now ask yourself the same question? You have someone in your home. You don’t know if there armed? You want the element of surprise before u ID them. All the sudden you hear someone rushing you and all at the same time your fumbling with your light to put it on turbo. He/ she now has the upper hand in combating you… all because you didn’t have a dedicated on/ off light with high or turbo. For this reason I keep my primary light set to turbo. And it only turns on and off or momentary with that function.
The Nextorch' one is the pinnacle of irony. Biggest 14500 flashlight by far with the smallest battery capacity by far... Wasted money I think the Olight i5R is the best EDC 14500 flashlight. And as the best Tactical 14500 flashlight, I can't decide which one from the 4 remainding.

If the cat flap gave you an opportunity to strike or get away, then it is worth it. That is all a light is going to do. it is not a solution but an opportunity to make a move. Gotta be used correctly
If only the light companies would realize this and not hide the strobe. That should always be a first option.
The skilhunt beam color looks so nice, I love the size too, although to me they all look like quality lights.
What monkey was that? 🐒
none of these lol
The Nextorch' one is the pinnacle of irony. Biggest 14500 flashlight by far with the smallest battery capacity by far... Wasted money
I think the Olight i5R is the best EDC 14500 flashlight.
And as the best Tactical 14500 flashlight, I can't decide which one from the 4 remainding.
Good insight
