I liked the original but it was too small, so this one is an improvement. Like you Tom I'd prefer the glass, and it is priced the same on Amazon for the U.S. Might go for it with my next build!

All the other reviewers I’ve watched so far have said the hole at the top is a fill port for a close loop cooler. You’re the first to point out that it can be used for cable routing.
Supposedly 2×180 mm fans can also be fitted at the top, and the 3x front ones are 140 not 120 mm from the factory.

Would look nice with some of those wooden waterblocks in there Guv, you could make something nice and classy.

Still a beautiful case. A beefier version for more cooling is always welcome!
Bit disappointed with the hard drive options though, you'd hope a larger case would mean more storage. Would be more appealing to workstation/server builders then.
Mesh or glass back panels would be a great shout for continuity too.

I liked the older, smaller sibling of this case a lot and this is great as I couldn't fit in the older one :-) But honestly, while this is a great case and I've short listed it for my upcoming case refresh in the summer, your testing really needs an upgrade too Tom. A blower style cooler is rare nowadays. Thank you nonetheless. I shall share photos of the new build in the forum soon hopefully :-)

Actually completely agree about the testing. It's just difficult to restart graphs but I hear you bro 🫡

0:39 exactly what I love about it, just looks like it was made in Sweden.

Great review. I do wonder if its a noisy case. Is it? Is fan replacement basically necessary?

I have the original size in black/mesh combo. I am exceedingly happy with it.
I have gone for full blackout/zero-RGB (the days of wanting case lighting are behind me), my components are all as stealth as possible (black NZXT N7 mobo, black RAM sticks, beQuite! Pure Loop 2 clc with the one RGB disconnected, Asus ProArt GPU).
Would I have appreciated easier fitting of the XL version? Sure. Do I want the bigger footprint of the larger case long-term? Nope. Going from a beQuiet 900 down to the North, I love the 900 but I am loving the size, looks and performance of the North.

Just purchased the regular north. I’m still within return window. Should I upgrade to the XL? Love that it’s three 140mm in the front.

I own 2 Fractal cases, I want a Torrent next.
The wood on this one means I wouldn’t consider this case, unless I had a whole wooden themed room… still no. Maybe the wooden front should be an optional extra to buy from spares department.

Hi, is it possible to put side fans with a big GPU like a ROG Strix RTX 4090?

    1. The wood at the front need a white color option..
    2. Regarding the ability to install those extra two fans to help cool the gpu: does the mesh sidepanel come with a filter that covers the fan area?
    3. The bottom mesh powersupply shroud seems too tight towards the front of case = should be "gap adjustble" to easier install aio"s with the hoses located at the bottom..
    4. Is the powersupply floor of the case level? = can you remove the big harddrive cages and install a much longer psu?
    5. Cabelspace at the back surely could be like 0,5 cm more.. grrr :)
    6. No way to properly secure the top panel? *seems flimsy
    7. Psu filter only accesible from the rear.. /fail
    8. Poor fanhub /useless (unless ofc you just want to attach the 4 fans, like you had, and be done with it).
    Edit:
The casefeet are too low... the psu wont get fresh air if you place it on longer stranded carpet...
*im sure there are more... just my first look initial findings
