I have had two experiences in my life that have stuck out to me concerning the pre mortal life. The first when my husband and I were engaged. We almost split up because he felt something wasn't right. He have me a blessing that said we petitioned to the Lord to be together before we came here and my husband had zero doubts from then on. The second; my second child was born with health complications- he's severely disabled and has a life limiting condition. My husband fasted and prayed for a month to heal him. When he was ready to recieved the Lord's will be told him that our son is how he was meant to be and that the 3 of us agreed to do this before we came. It's given us a lot of peace and strength. I really do believe in pre mortal existence and that we knew what we would face. We were cheerful then- we can be now.

My hardships have been relentless throughout my life but I’ve never blamed God or considered letting go of the iron rod. Underneath it all I sit and focus on the wondrous gospel and feel joy. My conversion rests on knowing by the power of the Holy Ghost that Joseph Smith really was visited by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in 1820 in upstate New York. This is the benefit of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pure joy.

I love your podcast, and have been listening since the beginning. Thank you for this wonderful gift! I laughed at the thought of Joseph having a New England accent, and misspelling names because of the pronunciation. Funny story from my family history. My daughter has been doing my family research and since I am a convert to the church there is ton to be done. We were stuck on the Forster name and getting nowhere. One day she realized that all of these people were from New Jersey just across the river from Philadelphia, and that the name we should be looking for was probably Foster. She was so spot on-we have found a lot of my ancestors on that line. The census worker wrote what he heard, which was Forster, since that's how they talk in Gloucester, New Jersey.

Elder Maxwell taught there are three reasons why we receive trials and challenges. 1. It just comes with living in a fallen mortal world. Sickness. Death. Pain. Etc. 2. Because of our own choices and others. 3. Because of the Lord gives us specific trials to refine us. Not all trials and problems are given to us from God.

I kind of wonder if we are allowed to suffer because we will appreciate the blessing more and........we will see the contrast of a world controlled by us and a world controlled by God. How many will want that world. How many will not want that world and would rather have our world. We will be free to choose. It seems that there will be those that reject the grace of Christ.

It doesn’t actually say that the destroyer is Satan. God calls forth destroyers throughout scriptures to destroy the wicked.
