If God does not exist then I still choose to live a life with the hope of salvation for me and my family and friends. My life is truly better with a hope in Christ than it would be without.

I'm so grateful to have found your "Come Follow Him" podcast. I can testify of 4 things mentioned in today's podcast!
    1. The day the missionaries came knocking on my door, I was getting off my knees asking Father, which church should I go to... they on the other hand had spent the day in the same housing development having doors slammed in their faces, no one coming to the door, even though they could bear the tv on, or no one at home. About 4 blocks from my home, they stopped and offered a prayer, (at the same time that I was offering up my prayer) suggesting there had to be someone in that area that wanted to hear the true gospel and then was led to right my door. That was 43 years ago next month!
    2. At the funeral home an hour or so before opened to family and friends, my husband, lying in the casket...I looked down at him and said, Jim, I hope you will listen to what the missionaries will be teaching you, it is the same truths they taught you here. And then I heard, "Now, I can listen with my heart and pain will not interfere!" He had polio at age 7 and recently said to me and one of our daughters, "Nobody knows the pain I have suffered everyday of my life since the polio"! He never complained!
    3. My mother was married 3 times and had children by 2 of the husbands. After she died I had her sealed to my dad, so that I could be sealed to them, (none of my siblings were members) then, my half sister died and I asked the Temple President about having mom sealed to her first husband so their daughter could be sealed to them. He said, since all had died, she could be sealed to all 3 husbands and her sealing would be worked out on the other side of the veil.
    4. When I was getting my dad's info ready for the temple, I asked my husband about doing his dad's work, too? I told him basically what was mentioned today, if this gospel is not of God nor Jesus, it would have no affect on his dad because he is dead, BUT, if it were true, and I know it is, we give him the opportunity to step into Paradise and progress along the way!
Thank you for the insights you share in these podcasts.

This was great and educational. Thanks so much for your insights. The stories were both heartfelt and enjoyable. I especially appreciated Dr. Dirkmaat’s testimony at the end. It gave me a beautiful, clear way of addressing gospel questions. I love that he gave the example of a grandma being sealed to multiple men since that is a question I’ve had about a grandmother on my family tree. Very enjoyable and uplifting as always. Thanks so much! ☺️

Thank you for reminding us that even if someone leaves the Church, that having a part of God in their lives is better than not having God in their life at all. My Uncle has left the church, but he has chosen to participate in another.

The references to Bryant especially moved me to tears. We lived in the same ward as the Dirkmaats when Bryant finished high school and went on his mission and also when Brother and Sister Dirkmaat served their mission. I so admire their family and have kept them in my prayers as they navigate this huge loss, especially sweet Kym and their babies. 💕

About the experience told in Gerrit's fast & test. meeting. The first thing that came to my mind was, since the hearts of us all are known to our eternal father, you were there to help probably more than one, God knowing in advance that the missunderstandings mentioned needed clarification(I wouldn't be at all surprise if that was why your contractors somehow were stalled)

I always have wondered why we get so concerned about other peoples marriages. They will work out their marriage and whomever they end up with between their spouse(s) and Christ. We need to focus more on nurturing our own relationships and fulfilling our divine responsibilities.

Another reason they were slowed down so much was because John Johnson was to sick to travel so they traveled according to what his health would allow. They did teach all the way. He was still sick when they meet up with Joseph, Sidney and Oliver. In fact they pooled their money to get a horse for him to ride. I think the part of verse 7 that talks about, “horses, mules or chariots” was for this purpose. I don’t mean to sound judgmental but there’s not one verse that says anything about water. I love the story that you told about your son, it is so beautiful ! Isn’t it a wonder how some of our youth are so close to the spirit that even at a young age can have experiences!!
