My wife and I are previous mainline pastors who were baptized in 2012. Coupled with several other Spirit-led events, Brad’s insight was key for us. We are so grateful for your FH podcasts. We (re)watch (YT) each week and drink deeply from the richness of the theology you share. Thank you!

Comparing grace to a scholarship was mind-opening. I've never heard grace explained that way before. Thank you so much for this podcast!

Good point! The enemy is Satan. Going after the people just causes contention. Learning, teaching, and living the truth is the key. Following Christ opens doors to share truth and light in non contentious ways. Very good point brethren.

I am one of those inactive members who the missionaries found and brought me back into the fold. I'm so grateful for those two young men. My life has been truly blessed by them! This was a phenomenal podcast and I will be looking at our wonderful Bishop in a different light 😀. Thank you.

Thank you so much for these podcasts every week! They are a blessing! I have come to love the Doctrine and Covenants & the early Saints who sacrificed so much. I also love how applicable each section is to our lives today. I am grateful for all of you who take the time to share their knowledge with us. I so appreciated the insights of Brad Wilcox this week. That was amazing!! Thanks again.

GRACE, coming as a gift, after receiving it and using it....receiving even more grace really is true. With no experience playing the organ, I was called to be the ward organist. I practiced at least 2-3 hours daily and this wonderful grace appeared to help me. At one point I thought I was getting pretty good and did not ask for divine help. You got it! I messed up playing the wrong notes and playing the incorrect foot pedal too. Humility was needed. I learned that I simply was not able to play that organ WITHOUT THE DIVNE GRACE THAT COMES FROM ON HIGH THROUGH SINCERE PRAYER. Love your podcasts and guest speakers each week.

Yes snacking on Church history is as dangerous as snacking on scripture. Getting to know the people behind the history is as important as getting to know the Savior behind the doctrine.

The book and library analogy was very good.
“Judging righteous judgment” means discerning good from evil. Judging each other isn’t the Savior’s way. There is no place for power which leads to division and competition in the family.

Many people who go to the Bishop with problems have not spent enough time in the spiritual world. All problems are temporal. All solutions are spiritual. We often just need to work it out in our own minds and hearts.

When you say don't attack those preaching against the church, I am concerned about BYU professors teaching false doctrine and not being called to answer for that by the college. Is it OK that they are paid from church funds and be allowed to continue?

Fear caused the servant to hide his talent (or a.k.a.not read the book), & as we know, "fear is of the devil" - The servants who read their books went forth in love, not restrained by fear. There's only two modes of operation: Love or fear...our development & progression depends on facing fear (& it's founder, the devil). Then fear goes away, & our ability to become like the Savior, who also had to face fear, is made not only possible, but inevitable. Never give up! I walked through life with fear as my constant companion...now I walk without fear. (Knock on wood.lol...i've learned when I make a broad-brush stroke statement, a test will appear;)...I love you guys! I & my children have been strengthened by your strength...

I feel I need to insert this verse from this section, “7 Wherefore, confound your enemies; call upon them to meet you both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their shame shall be made manifest.” I’m feeling torn, because what I’m hearing on one hand is basically don’t try to confound your enemies. On the other hand this verse says clearly, “Confound your enemies.” This is not my interpretation. It’s word for word what the scripture says. The question is which do we follow or do we try to find a happy medium. I know that personally I pray for the Lord’s guidance in my words and actions daily. Most of the time I’m asking to know what to say to people who are “enemies” to the church or even in the church. My goal If not to offend but to share what I know. This doesn’t feel wrong to me. What do you think brethren?

This helped me understand, but I think it boils down to always stand for truth and you can do that in multiple ways where both can be edified and uplifted IF you and the other person have the spirit with you. If either of you do NOT have the spirit, both will not be uplifted.
Doctrine and Covenants 71:2-7. “Confound your enemies”
The Lord commanded the Prophet Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon to preach the gospel to the Saints and the people in the surrounding region (see D&C 71:2). In addition, the Lord instructed them to “confound [their] enemies” (D&C 71:7), or in other words, disprove their false claims by inviting them to meet and discuss their allegations. In obedience to the Lord’s commandment, Sidney Rigdon invited Ezra Booth to meet him at a lecture on December 25, 1831, “where he would ‘review’ Booth’s letters and show them to be ‘an unfair and false representation of the subjects on which they treat’” (in Joseph Smith Papers, Documents, Volume 2: July 1831-January 1833, 145). He also asked Symonds Ryder to a public meeting where they could discuss the Book of Mormon. Neither man accepted the invitation.

Bishops have become impersonal to everyone but the youth.... Bishops families have always been blessed by including ward members, now in our ward most people don't know who the Bishop is and the Bishop doesn't know his sheep it's so sad😭😭😭

Who cares to spend time with the singles? Bishops are now
"Stand offish " ..... the Bishops are so busy doing activities that he mo longer cares to do activities with the singles which is the biggest group of people leaving the fold/ church....

Bishops are to spend time with the “youth”. YSA’s, MSA’s, and other singles should be firm enough in their testimony they stand alone. If they fall away, it’s because their testimony was in the church, not the gospel.

Listen again, grace 22:00, labor in the vineyard, serve for the season,
Are we living the law of consecration or not?? Stop blaming , magnify your calling. My husband is a bishop, so far 30 funerals, camps, he is rarely home, I had him listen to this podcast, he said I do this! Are WE ministering, listening to the spirit, magnifying our calling?
Thanks 🙏 for this , love ❤️ all three of these men’s testimonies
