Definitions of Interesting Words Played in Game 13:

GUAVA [32 pts] (noun) - a small shrubby tropical American tree (Psidium guajava) that is widely cultivated in warm regions for its sweet or somewhat acid usually globular yellow fruit [Spanish, from Arawakan, a language family indigenous to South America and formerly the Caribbean]
ZOOID [30 pts] (noun) - an entity that resembles but is not wholly the same as a separate individual organism, such as an organized body (as a phagocyte or a sperm cell) having locomotion, or a more or less independent animal produced (as by fission, proliferation, or strobilation) by other than direct sexual methods and so having an equivocal individuality -used especially of a single person of a compound organism (as a hydroid, coral, or bryozoan colony) [from Greek and Latin combining forms]

MOHO [27 pts] (noun) - any of several Hawaiian honeyeaters that have pectoral tufts of yellow feathers [from Hawaiian]; or, a clipping of "Mohorovičić discontinuity," a point at depths ranging from about three miles beneath the ocean basin floor to about 25 miles beneath the continental surface at which seismological and other studies indicate a change in earth materials from those of the earth's crust to those of the subjacent mantle [from Mohorovičić, surname of Andrija Mohorovičić, Croatian geophysicist (1857-1936)]

RIFER [21 pts] (adjective) - comparative form of "rife"; widespread, common, prevalent, current (mainly of unpleasant or harmful things)
I’ve played FAQIR several times without knowing that definition! The game becomes more colorful once there’s lexical, in addition to, strategic meaning behind each play.
24:52 I believe you just get outscored by FE+FIRE, there's still a place for the Q with QI+TI and also down QIS+QI+IRE
that said, well played! YEH -> WIRRA was an interesting sequence of moves by you and the bot
Ah yeah you're 100% right, FIRE/FE wins by 3 -- good call!
Great. Game. Well played Mack. faqir was brilliant.
Damn, about time Mack! We've been waiting for a big comeback win!
Thanks! Yeah really needed this one
well played, shoutouts to the gamer sunglasses! I probably got owned by playing enjoy with the B and 2 Ws on the bot's rack 😅
Thanks!
congrats on the win. that was a pretty exciting endgame.
Dang, congrats 🎉on this big win! I have a suggestion for a future video of modified scrabble: Pokebble! It’s scrabble except all the English names of all Pokémon are valid words, other than the names with special characters. Also if you create a Pokémon’s name you get 10 point premium added to your score, like a bingo but only 10 points!
Another option: Scrabble with 8 tiles on rack. Playing 7 tiles is now worth 20 points premium, and playing all 8 is a premium of 100 points called a Super Bingo!
More ideas: scrabble except all triple bonus are double bonus instead, all doubles are triples, scrabble without bonus squares, scrabble except bingos do not give premiums, scrabble but the bingo premium is multiplied by x2 and x3 word scores!
Thanks, and thanks for all the suggestions! I've actually done a decent number of the ones in your "more ideas" section, check out my modified tile bag scrabble playlist! And I know the names of like 2 Pokemons haha so I doubt I'd do very well at Pokebble 😂
one of my favorite games on this channel, wow.
Thanks so much for watching!
Man,that was tense !
It sure was, thanks for watching!
This was an excellent game!!
I think the bot played so quickly in the endgame because your clock was low, to put time pressure on you
Wow what a game
Thanks for watching!
I wonder how the average scrabble player would perform against engines if the player was given a list of all possible moves in real-time. That I think is the one big advantage that engines have over Human players, which never happens in a purely strategic game like Chess or Go
Great game
Thanks for watching!
My initial thought would be to play BLOG, and I would have been wrong. I think BYRL is way better, regardless of your draw.
I bet the bot didn't even have a D after it played JINS. Bots make plays humans would never make. That's one reason I think it's a mistake to prepare for something like NSC or Word Cup by playing the bot too much vs. other humans. I'd personally think it might be really interesting if you played in live woogles games against human opponents.
FYI ZOOID is pronounced zo-oid rather than zoo-id i.e. it is a normal word with an “oid” ending like “humanoid”
😎
How do you spot bingoes so fast? I'm trying to improve to beat my dad😅
Byrl was a great play
Thanks!
HI MACK❤
Hi!
hah, Josh was complaining about his haircut just today on stream
Ugh I still haven't gotten it cut as I type this comment lol
Is FIQH not valid in this dictionary?
It's probably one of the weirdest-looking words with the Q.
