When they first came out they were similar to KsE, then went Pop, then adopted the Rob Zombie aesthetic mixed with Marilyn Manson....now they are adopting the Beyoncé/Katy Perry/Lady Gaga Illuminati symbolism but they aren't for real, its just for theatre, and its it embarrassing! This album is what got me into them. All of their albums are wonderful, but their last four is what I consider to be In This Moment. Fantastic visuals, front woman, music. You don’t see this too often. They shot right up to the top as one of my favorite bands.
Compared to their first 3 albums, they have stripped down their music to be much simpler, not as technical. Simple isn't a bad thing but this does not sound like In This Moment anymore. I'll wait until the album comes out but I'm skeptical.

I went to a very intense, old school catholic school for 5 years growing up, and the fear, and the longing for approval was so overwhelming and discouraging. And I thought I was doomed for being me cus according to heaven's standards I did not fit the bill. I love the message this band teaches. Dirty, beautiful, righteous, or damned. It doesn't matter, love who you are, and let's dance to the music together. I love the message of this song. It's edgy, its conflicted and it's real. God fucking bless In This Moment!
no i think it's a little less surface level than that. Assuming by her stage appearance i think she's pretty anti christianity which defeats the purpose of the traditional hell. People who have had christianity drilled in their head can attest to the freedom of livng without being "damned" I think the analogy of the whole devil thing is defeating your own demons and self saboteur which is scarier than any hell in my opinion. When you go from a heavy metalcore sound to a radio friendly Nickleback sound, people are going to notice. Of course, it'll net them more new fans, but the massive change to their sound has alienated the original fans. Remember, this is supposed to be "In This Moment". Not "The Maria Brink Solo Project".
Even so... I love their hardcore stuff, but not everyone here exclusively loves pure metal. This song here proves to me how awesome and talented they really are. This is powerful as hell. BTW, never heard a Nickleback song like this.

Having an album that's more of a 50/50 split of metalcore and lighter stuff is fine so long as the songwriting is still solid. Does Maria even scream anymore? Are there breakdowns and crazy guitar leads any more? I wouldn't lump "The Dream" album in with their current stuff.

ITM is one of the best and (sadly) one of the most underrated bands in current rock music. Maria is an amazing singer, songwriter and creative mastermind. The band is awesomely talented too. They deserve much more recognition and accolades than they already have! 🤘🏻 💖

When you go from a heavy metalcore sound to a radio friendly Nickleback sound, people are going to notice.
Of course, it'll net them more new fans, but the massive change to their sound has alienated the original fans.
Remember, this is supposed to be "In This Moment".
Not "The Maria Brink Solo Project".
Even so... I love their hardcore stuff, but not everyone here exclusively loves pure metal. This song here proves to me how awesome and talented they really are. This is powerful as hell. BTW, never heard a Nickleback song like this.
their second album was already "radio friendly" they changed back to heavy. honestly the worst album they've done was the last one. hoping rituals is better. but I will be listening before buying.
Having an album that's more of a 50/50 split of metalcore and lighter stuff is fine so long as the songwriting is still solid. Does Maria even scream anymore? Are there breakdowns and crazy guitar leads any more? I wouldn't lump "The Dream" album in with their current stuff.
