Clever idea, endfed and dipole.
Everyone has think about it, and a very clever someone has joined it together.
I had a friend who was a nam vet he taught me how to make a dipole antenna. Thank GOD FOR OUR VETERANS
Agreed
Just bought one right before I saw your video. Looking forward to throwing it in the pack!
That Antenna looks intersting to me 👀. great Stuff, Jason. Nice Location you picked there. Happy Easter & 73 de Uncle Günter 💯🙋♂
Thanks, you too!
Thats my go to antenna in the field. I have had great results with it.
so all My CHA wire antenna on 40m run 1.5 bare in most conditions. but it never seems to be an issue. the old 40M LEFS runs almost 0 on 20M so I don't complain.
LOVE the t-shirt, great fun activation. Our new park reference and offline mode going into WRL soon too. Thanks so much for everything Jason, you're the best!!
I plan to use that on my next activation
@@HamRadio2 awesome man, let us know any feedback. We're buiLding new features FAST! Let us know if you want your own HR2.0 logging template :)
Yeah that might be fun
My favorite antenna!
sweet portable antenna
Aloha Jason, that’s the antenna that I need for my Hurry Up Mast here in Honolulu. I have two of these 33’ steel masts, just need the right antenna for them and I think this could be the one. 🤙🏻
I hope you end up giving some of these away here in the near future. Todd WH6DWF🇺🇸🤙🏻
great antenna . been my go to antenna for portable. but I bult mine. end fed half wave. nice how they have outher option on the winder base . I have had the same SWR issue in some spots . the ground does have a bunch to do with that. using coax as counter poise can change SWR with length and type of soil it is over. even when you use counterpoise wire and a 1:1 at antenna the length of counter poise comes into play on lower frequency bands like 40 meters. what i found buy doing several parks. still some great DX you got. The parks are US now . and Hamer's has a update and fixed the logging soft where. US parks come up and the map fixed. just down load the new version. you may need to un install the old version but keep log's ,what I did. it worked . i use windows 11 with no problems outher than the issue with old Hamer's . Chameleon has some nice antenna's . just when it comes to end fed ,I make my own. I want to go QRO some times and easy to make. lots of kits to build. they fun ! I like that one you used. 73's
Might have to get me one of those end feds, looks like it works great. Hook it up to my Scorpion and see what happens??? Thanks Jason
You bet
Thats pretty nifty!
What did you use for the mast by the porta-potty? It obviously works well, is it collapsible? Thanks!
Yes that is my Spiderbeams mast, used in many videos
Blessed love to all, my brother are you in America ??. Am a old school boy, can you help me get a Yeasu FT 757GX, or GX2, am from Jamaica west Indies !!
I love your PackOut box (just like mine)! Mine has turned into a QDX catch all box. Thanks for a fun video!
I’ve been wanting to get into ham radio for over 30 years now but damn everything’s changing with the computer age I’m not sure I could follow it now. I’ve had a radio for the last 25 years to listen to just never took the last leap into getting the license.
It is what you make of it!! You don’t have to get into the digital side of things unless it interests you, find a local club or an online zoom class, it’s never been easier to get your license.
Are you concerned about the rf exposure with that setup? I just started using an efhw and wonder about it.
Not really
Nice antenna, you look 10 yrs younger, What did you do? Happy Easter Man! Tnx.
I shaved lol
@@HamRadio2lolz, Wow that's awesome! Great video Man!
How do you compare this to the PackTenna?
The Packtenna is a bit better built but this one is more versatile
Did Molson hit the "End Stream" button?
Nope, it just ended
Can it be in the rain unprotected?
Which type of ABR coax are you using on this POTA?
It's their LMR240
Thanks Jsson, a fun video looks like that antenna gets out good. Was too funny, one of your contacts VA7NX activating park CA-3454 is the president of my radio club up here on the west coast of Canada.
Thanks 👍
What are you using for a portable mast? I need to get one and am looking for advice. Thanks, 73 KK7PEN
This one is a 9M Spiderbeams
If you replace the 65' wire from the CHA LEFS 4010 with a CHA LEFS 8010 EFHW WIRE SET (about 130') + elevate the feedpoint to about 10' to 12' and put a choke at the feedpoint, you'll cover 80M 40M 30M 20M 17M 15M 12M and 10M - No Tuner Needed!
3650 kHz = 1.35 SWR
7100 kHz = 1.05 SWR
14175 kHz = 1.51 SWR
21225 kHz = 1.36 SWR
28850 kHz = 1.71 SWR
Elevating the EFHW will always help reducing the SWE and maximizing the performances of the antenna.
I'll try the longer wire, that would make for a good video.
However I've setup other EFHW antennas with the feedpoint higher off the ground and found that it makes little difference
@@HamRadio2 it makes differences to me - the SWR is more constant.
$175... these are the antennas that hams are supposed to make themselves, for like 28 dollars. If they would have called it a TACTICAL EFHW, that would bring up the premium a bit, 😆 🤣
I don't buy into the whole "tactical" fad
@@HamRadio2 it was a joke... lol, throw tactical in front of whatever and increase the price
The Chameleon company makes very strange products, sells them at a very strange price, and very strange people buy them. They manage to sell a piece of wire at Yagi's price. 😅
Thankfully no one is forcing you to buy them
They work because they put in the development effort. "Strange"? I've been accused of worse.
It’s crazy to think that someone would want to buy a quality, American made product that works, huh?
Pro-tip, hold the mic off to the side not directly in front of your mouth. You corrected this later in the video.
Actually it doesn't matter, so there is no "correct" way
@@HamRadio2 it does if you don’t want your audio to sound like crap.
@@k6usy Aaron.... good job being the "wet blanket" comment!
Out of stock.
No - we’ve plenty of stock! We just made 500 of them!

We've 7 sad ham! The 7 CS of amateur radio!
CS is that for C___ S______? LOL
I didn't realize that having fun in Ham Radio was "sad". I guess you non-Hams must be a hoot at parties.
@@HamRadio2 I was referring to the 7 people who gave you a thumb down. Those are the 7 sad ham!
@@dcfartsniffer4908Weird, YT doesn't even show that openly anymore. They used to show thumbs-down counts but removed those some time back. You can still click on it, but the totals aren't there.
@@HamRadio2 You can still view thumbs down on RUclips if you are not a content creator. You, however, need to install the Return RUclips Dislike plugin. This feature is for most browsers such as Google Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Brave. For those whose browsers are not supported, there is a user script.
