Heya! Thank you so much for giving Prowlers and Paragons a nice shout out! I'm the Art Director at Mobius Publishing and we are really very proud of P&P! You have an awesome channel by the way! Thanks again!
I need to pick up the core rulebook. I am looking forward to getting this book and discussing it on my channel eventually. You did a good job discussing it.
Hey Tom .. first, ending good vibes your and the wife's way for a speedy recovery. As to the game .. to steal a term from Young Justice's animated Robin, I was just "whelmed". Totally agree that they should have reached out to the P&P team for some licensing. :) To date, like you, my favorite flavor of Marvel RPG is Marvel Heroic RP. While MHRP does require a little shift in thinking around the mechanics I think ultimately it's way more freeing if your going for that real comic book feel. P&P is my favorite system for super heroes bar none! Thanks again for sharing and look forward to more.
Thought the game was much simpler than it’s predecessors and liked the additions to the gameplay. Good review tho and I hope your wife gets a speedy recovery 🫡
Hey ArcaderD20! First off, welcome back. I'm sorry to hear about the medical issues that your wife is going through and the struggles that the two of you have been through. I hope she makes as best of a recovery as possible. Also, thank you for not only bringing to my attention that the MMRPG has been produced, but a first impressions video for it as well! Extra points for comparing between it and the playtest document they sold a few years prior. I'm glad to see that they incorporated player feedback when it comes to paring down power levels from 25 down to 6. That helped clean up a lot of messy math. Same goes for getting rid of that awkward class system that they had along with those atrocious leveling tables for each class. Unfortunately though, it seems that Marvel is more interested in pimping their IP and chopping them up into bits for reassembly in the form of a board game rather than providing their customers a toolkit to create our own superheroes, like in previous Marvel-based RPGs and other superhero RPGs. This goes to show that they're still trying to use as much of the same playbook as WotC is for D&D. At $60, this is not a product that I would buy, even for the sake of collecting. I'm better off appropriating many other TTRPGs, from Mutants & Masterminds to Worlds in Peril to the Quick & Dirty RPG System, and slapping on a Marvel coat of paint to using this game in order to play in the Marvel Universe.
@ArcaderD20 Even though both are made by the same creators, Worlds is based on the Powered by the Apocalypse engine and Galaxies is based on the Forged in the Dark engine and is more structured with regards to team structure and ever-expanding scale.
I’ll be picking it up and while I’m keeping an open mind I’m feeling a little nervous from everything I’ve already seen and read. It seems to me that Marvel would want to capitalize on the MCU and create a game that would be easy to understand (attracting new players) and emphasize on storytelling with a cinematic flair. Kind of like the original TSR version (which may be why it’s endured so long) but this doesn’t seem to be the case. Again, without looking at my copy of it yet it just seems kind of gimmicky with the 616 dice and MARVEL acronym. I’ve bought every incarnation of RPG that Marvel has published (this new one will be no exception) but the only two I’ve played consistently was the TSR (the granddaddy) and Marvel Heroic (which I believe was the ultimate comic book like translation). Keeping my fingers crossed and as always, Make Mine Marvel!
I took a chance and ordered this. Whether it succeeds or fails for me will depend on if it captures the feel of a Marvel comic. I intend to base the campaign on all the classic characters being decades in the past, and working out what the MU that debuted in the 60s would look like in 2023.

Thanks for the video. I discovered P&P recently, thanks in part, to your review. It is truly excellent. My favorite superhero ruleset for sure!

I still have to get Worlds / Galaxies in Peril.

How'd you snag it so soon? And best wishes for your wife, of course.
I pre-ordered it like two years ago. My surprise Amazon delivered today.
