MUSIC: El Baile De Los Andes by Pangal & Gana LONG-TERM CAMP: This is the third/final video at the long-term winter camp. We set it up on the previous trips if you missed them. AUDIO: Something went wrong with the mic on the main cam for a bunch of shots (muffled, a few times recorded nothing). Used the action cam more than usual too and the DJI action 3 mics suck. Did my best to salvage it at home but some clips just don't sound right...sorry about that. Also got the worst piece of sensor dust of all time on day 6 🤦♂ But the best of the winter is yet to come. 10-day adventure next.
The music is great and reminds me of Iohan Gueorguiev's soundtrack selection when he was bikepacking through the South American snow. Some of the finest soundtrack work ever done on RUclips, sadly it ran into copyright issues even though he was using it under license and I don't know if you can find it now, but the soundtrack music was Inti Illimani.
Hey John! Wicked video once again!! I watched it last night and now just read your comment here. I never noticed anything wrong with the sound you edited it all perfectly!👌 the skating was fun to watch and awesome job with the drone shots!! Very cool👍
John, you struck Gold with Erin. You two make a great team. You love your adventures wherever you go together. May God bless and always keep you safe. Thanks for sharing with us.
Amazing video! You two are such an adorable couple and work so well together and skate well too! Pro hockey technique. That was fun watching you both skate on the lake! Nice igloo! And such incredible beautiful scenery, editing & music , and the sound of that awesome ice cracking Wow! That is so cool! Phenomenal video!!
You know it's a cold climate when -5 is "cozy". Another spectacular adventure Jon and Erin - thanks for taking us along, and for all your effort with the editing too.
What a cool trip! That shot of the glowing blue igloo on the lake at night with the stars overhead was mesmerizing , and the (Peruvian?) flute music really lent a fitting touch to the picturesque scenes. Bravo to Erin for her resilience in not giving up on the igloo build and the sense of adventure in soloing overnight in it, twice! You two are renegades! 👏🏼
The overhead shots of the shoveling/igloo were awesome. Erin's persistence and determination building was also something to behold. You guys are great.
Erin's persistence pays off! Finally igloo success! Then to sleep it total commitment. Like having your own private mini ice hotel as they do in Quebec City. Kept thinking she was really braving it, especially with no bag o'scotch 😥. Now im just waiting for the game cam lynx footage, next time forsure, third times the charm!
Erin is such a joy. Her drive and focus without which you never would have built the igloo. I’m with you Jon - quihnzee. Made one in Algonquin with the kids when they were young. Worked great but -30° - helped it sinter fast. Loved the drone “art” shots and cracking ice was a new one. Finally a dose of winter in a season of 💩. Thanks to both of you. 🤗
This was extrodinary beautiful to watch. First of all you are such a sweet couple and watching you two together makes me smile. hearing those ice sounds is unbelievable. I´ve never heard that before, sound sureal! And you really made that trip like a holiday out of a dream: Ice skating, exploreing, fishing, building an iglu and sleep in it, hunting chaga, .... What an adventure!! Thanks a lot for sharing that with us, Jon and Erin.
After how many seasons, you folks finally got that igloo made: awesome! I'm sure it's warmer than an arctic tent with a coleman stove. Once again, I noticed a few Army surplus items that Erin uses. That sleeping bag weights a ton but it does a great job of keeping you warm.
The sound of the lake is like nothing Ive ever heard before. So amazing. Thank you for giving us all the gift of being able to hear that sound. SO sick.
Erin really did an awesome job building and going solo in the igloo. Her chopping and splitting wood skills are second to none not to mention her ability to pull you from an icy death Jon. Easy choice to marry her! Great episode and editing as always. Nice work Erin!
Why not try building more like an igloo cabin rather than the traditional dome form? Might be easier 🤔 I just love how you guy's genuinely enjoy each other's company & work as a team to get things done and most importantly you make each other smile & laugh ❤ all great signs of a healthy strong relationship. I hope you have a long happy life together as I did with my husband (46 years) 😊❤ congrats on completing your igloo!! 👏
I've been told a picture is worth a thousand words while a story is worth a thousand pictures. Having watched your story telling get better and better over the years I now find that your stories are worth even more! I aspire to become a better storyteller after watching what you've created! The kitesailing part was very interesting to me. I use to do some in the winter on land using a small land kite along with either a snowboard, a set of downhill skiis or when snow was absent, a dirt surfer. It can be a bunch of fun but after wiping out at 68 km/hour body armour is a good thing to have! Thanks again for sharing the story. Delightful!
For your next Igloo night…. Try blocking the door with a snow slab leaving just a fist size hole at the top. Then leave your candle going. It will warm way up in there. Got up to 50 with 2 candles once. Very comfortable! Fun times…
The igloo was amazing! As always, beautifully filmed and I loved the choice of music - perfect! It always makes me happy when you upload a new video. Thank you Jon and Erin :)
Everything about this video was amazing! My favourite was the overhead shot of the igloo, and the night shots. Didn’t notice any problems with the mic or the dust - don’t be too hard on yourself. Kudos to Erin, and thank you for sharing this wonderful trip with us!
Your channel is one of the few truly uplifting. Your sensitivity to image, sound and content are wonderful. My family looks forward to every new post. I wish you both all the happiness in this world, you deserve it
Hard to explain how it feels to move from the intro into the start of a Lost Lakes story to the uninitiated. Always a privilege guys - thank you from Australia
Exciting video , you sure are a brave lady to sleep out in the Igloo . You did a great job building it ! I got the chills watching . My husband and I enjoyed watching , thanks fr sharing .
Another adventure through which we live outdoors vicariously with the most awesome of partners! I feel like I’m living in a narrated story art exhibit, your own unique art form, a phrase which I only use to describe what you do.
What an awesome adventure! Those lake sounds were amazing. And those stars. I absolutely love watching your videos! Thanks Jon & Erin for taking me along. ❤
Great choice of music! Fantastic video, as always, epic shots, most notable the glowing igloo. Great job to you both. Erin is a patient worker for sure !!!
Your production quality keeps getting better each season, and the music choice sets the tone beautifully! Thank you as always for your great work~ Never stop adventuring~
I just ❤ all of your videos!!! Especially those with John & Erin. You two are living the dream & there are so many of us that appreciate you sharing the experiences. 🥰😊
Oh this is amazing! I am so glad you guys finally finished and were able to build an igloo. Erin was so funny and mist of been so stoked to sleep in that thing. Awesome video as usual
Congratulations you guys!!!! Such an amazing episode!! I love Erin. AND John, of course. The overall quality of the entire video is hands down as good as an y studio quality production. You two are GREAT together. ❤ Thank you for sharing
Quite familiar with the ice sounds, been ice fishing since the 60's. When you have your truck two miles from the shore and its snapping and cracking, its kinda uncomfortable. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Hi Erin & Jon I hope all is well. My name is Blanche I‘m the Marketing Manager of the POMOLY. I watched all of your videos on RUclips which are fantastic, and I found you are a really advanture man you two have a challenging spirit. Keep making good content for us, we really love that!😍
Last time i built an igloo( around 11-12 yrs old) we plugged the door and had a hole at the top center to help with air circulation, you'd be surprised how warm candles can keep ur igloo. My wife is inuk, she has built n slept in a few herself, using a kulik to keep warm
My dad and I got to about almost done with our igloo and it snapped really cold… that’s when he broke out the spray bottle and water welded the last pieces in the arch.
What a tremendous achievement! Congratulations on those two BEAUTIFUL structures. Both so artistically crafted and landscaped too! 😄 I was thinking that unfinished one was a perfect ice fishing wind break too, glad you got to use it, even if you didn't catch anything. I sure would want to spend a bunch of nights in the completed igloo too if I had worked that hard on it. What a fun week! Thank you for taking us along. 🏕
So, I noticed several references to pregnancy terms, “narrow birthing canal” as the most memorable. Best wishes for whatever the motivation , erudition or otherwise. 🖖🏼❤️
I never get tired of hearing the ice popping in these videos. Such an intense sound. I wouldn’t sleep a wink if it was going on around me all night long! The igloo was so freaking cool. I know that was a crap ton of work, well done hanging in there both of you! The sense of accomplishment was well worth it I’m sure. I was shocked when you got on top of it! So cool. Great video, thanks!
It's a Zen snow flower! I bet you guys would enjoy playing with a snow sleigh shovel, have you tried one? I think it would be fun to see if you can use it as an actual gear sleigh as well as a shovel... It's on my to do list but winter is so short in NS where I live these days.
@@LostLakes that was so awesome how you just kept trying in spite of your failures until you did it. What do you mean hope it starts that's a Toyota man it always starts 😂
Your channel is the reason I winter camp. I would have never even considered it. You take the the risk out of it by showing how to do it without dying. Thank you.
Hi newly weds, wow what a great video again, you never disappoint, beautiful scenery and sounds, Zander used to be my no 1 dude, but haven’t seen him lately, but now look forward to your videos lolol👍🇨🇦

It would be so nice if my wife would enjoy camping all year round. I enjoy all your videos and watch them over and over.
Could you imagine getting your wife to go out in -30 to build an igloo on a frozen lake.
So do I!! Especially the canoeing / fishing ones!!
I wish my husband wanted to do these adventures.
That igloo is amazing! Looked so awesome with the blue light showing through at night. Great choice of music and wonderfully filmed…. As always.
The overhead shots of the shoveling/igloo were awesome. Erin's persistence and determination building was also something to behold. You guys are great.
Great determination on the igloo Erin👏🎉.Guys the content was awesome the filming and drone is outstanding.
I fight with my wife when we assemble an IKEA chair. I can’t imagine building an igloo with her 😂. Great work guys!
Hahah I found this tool to be like the most frustrating IKEA build ever. Thankfully Erin has more patience

Blanche Chambly is really good. I've been able to get it here in Michigan.

Great job on the Igloo! Awesome video. Always look forward to watching and experiencing your trips.

opposites attract! Love the final igloo build and Erin's humor on you choosing to stay near the stove. lol!

Great job..fun to watch...a reminder to us all ..that ...THESE ARE ...THE GOOD OLD DAYS
