@@EmileeBryant I agree with you that the three brands you showed are popular and solid choices. I loved Happy Planet Oat Milk Barista Edition but sadly Happy Planet is out of the oat milk game. Chobani Oat Milk Barista Edition is a contender.
I think rather than trying to cover every brand of oat milk, it might be more interesting to look at the "alternative alternatives", like pea milk; Hope and Sesame recently created a Barista Blend Sesamemilk; Barleymilk (though I cannot try that as barley contains gluten) etc.

Fantastic video! I use Oatly exclusively, but I think in your throw down the Califia looked best (more defined especially in the layers). I find that when I texture Oatly medium, the very end of the milk in the jug is too thin and thus the very end of the pour looks loose. I will try to add a little more air to see if I can keep the structure looking good without the end loose result. Thank you!

Hi Emilee! Thank you so much for your videos! They are great and you make them funny! :) One thing though with barista oat milk is that they all seem to contain some phosphate in various forms. And phosphates contain phosphorus, which can increase the risks of cardiovascular diseases, perturbates calcium metabolism, and can be nefarious for the kidneys when taken in to great of a quantity. The thing is that the body needs phosphorus, but nowadays, we tend to consume too much of it, hence the problem, and my question. Do you know of a good barista oat milk that does not contain phosphates?

And speaking of expensive, I have a tiny atomizer squirt bottle with grape seed oil at my work station. I buy the non barista versions of whatever oat milk I like, pour the milk in the steaming pitcher and add two squirts before steaming. It performs pretty well and is half the price.

One thing I've noticed about the thicker oat milks (e.g., califia, oatly) is that when used in iced coffee, they kind of de-emulsify(?) quicker -- sometimes you end up with a lump of sediment(??) at the bottom, under the ice, so I tend to see minor figures and even alpro more reliable in that sense.

what's your experience with pea protein based milks? I've been playing around with the barista version of '"vly". I really enjoy the taste of it, it's not as sweet as most oat milks and reminds me the most of traditional cow milk. it does create really nice texture when everything goes by plan, but somehow I have had a lot of problems getting the texture consistent. I haven't tried any other pea protein brands yet though. so maybe it's just the one by 'vly' that is tricky to handle.
im just curious about whether or not you have had experience with it and what your conclusion is like.

It is SO good . I feel like I cant be too picky or it seems like I am putting other brands down but I think if it were me drinking the coffee I would consistently chose CALIFIA

@@EmileeBryant Oh yeah definitely. Oatly used to be my favourite but califia let the taste of the espresso cut through much better in the milk compared to other oat milks. Just my opinion though :))

@@ursh447 tooootaly agree there. maybe we should do more battle of the oats and add a few different brands in the lineup for fun!

Not only is it different in fat but I find that even in the same brand, barista oat milk tastes more neutral and doesnt flavour the coffee as much

My foamed Oatly has most of the time too much bubbles. I am definately too dumb for Latte Art 🥴

@emileebryant hey filthy scumbag, have you ever tried using Two Bears Oat Milk Unsweetened Barista friendly? I find it far more difficult to froth at all even though I have no issues with Califa or Oatly. Any tips on dealing with that blasted brand? Great vids, btw! Cheers!
